For those from countries that had a visa ban/pause before, once it was lifted, how long did it take for the actual interview letter/scheduling to come through? F4 visa - just reached NVC stage, feeling anxious about interview wait

Hi everyone, hoping to get some clarity/support from people who've been through similar things.

My father's sister sponsored our family under F4 (sibling category) many years ago. After a very long wait, we finally got the NVC welcome notice and have started the CEAC document/fee process.

A few things I'm confused and anxious about:

Interview backlog — I've heard mixed things about Embassy Islamabad's current wait times for scheduling interviews after being documentarily complete. Some say under a year, others say it can stretch to 2+ years, especially with any current pauses/policy issues affecting visa processing. Trying to get a realistic sense of what to expect rather than worst-case internet stories.

General next steps — we've started fees/documents, but I'm not 100% sure what "documentarily complete" actually unlocks in terms of timeline, or how much control we have over speeding things up versus just waiting on embassy capacity.

If anyone has gone through F4 (especially from Pakistan) recently and can share what their timeline looked like from documentarily complete to interview, I'd really appreciate it. Trying to balance realistic expectations with not spiraling over worst-case scenarios.

So my cousin has recently done fsc now he was planning his career path at fisrt his parents didn't even bothered to ask him what field and where he is joining. But when he told them about the admissions they said that " hum srf 1 semester ki fee dain gay baki ki khud dekh lo " also they are not even letting him go in the universities that have low fee and saying again and again " tum apna dekh lo humaray pass itnay wasail nhi ha ". Mind you his 3 siblings live abroad and father owns a shop

Is it ok?? Matlb ab wo zamanay nhi rahay k universities akele manage ho sakay matalb his parents are not even trying to contribute. Kya sach may larko ki zindagi aesi hoti ha like my parents would have never done that

My boyfriend has to move abroad his dad will only pay for his studies if he goes, and there just aren't enough part-time jobs here for him to support himself otherwise. We've been together for 4 years, and we both want to stay together, but we're looking at 7-8 years of long distance before we'd realistically be in the same place again.

Has anyone been through something like this? Did you make it work, or did the distance end up being the reason you broke up? And honestly what would you do in my position? I'd really appreciate hearing how it went for you, good or bad.

So i was a sensitive person since childhood. Idk why I take things to seriously or should I say personally. Whatever im in a crowd and two people and whispering and if they look at me dyr7ng all of this I fell lile they are talking about me

I feel insecure. Also every small encounter, smalls talks , small inconveniences make me feel so bad about myself. But due to this everybody in the house thought k ma bacho ko nhi le k jana chahti or ma jaan churwa rahi hu. And I feel so guilty k kassh ma aesi baat hi na karti.
