Netherlands FSD Drive Raises Questions

Larry Evans, journalist at CleanTechnica, wrote an article about my testdrives with XPENG VLA 2.0 (which he did too) and FSD of Tesla. A good analysis and a clear story. Funny are the reactions of mainly American readers in the comments of the article😀.
BTW Larry picked the picture…
BTW I can recommend to subscribe to their newsletter. A lot of news about technical innovation and developments.

Part 2 of my test FSD vs VLA2.0 Who is the winner??

Once again, I mainly looked at how FSD Supervised actually behaves on Dutch roads — including roads without a center line!

The Netherlands was the first country in Europe where Tesla received approval. I wanted to compare FSD with XPENG’s VLA, which I tested in China.

And there were a few interesting surprises — not all of them in the way I expected beforehand.

Curious to hear what you think!

Tesla FSD vs XPENG VLA 2.0

I tested Tesla FSD (Supervised) in the Netherlands and compared it with VLA 2.0, which I previously tested in China.
The Netherlands was at the forefront of the European approval of FSD. But how good is the system really?
There was one thing I was particularly curious about: safety. And perhaps even more importantly: how safe does it feel? Especially compared with what I experienced during my drive with VLA 2.0 in China.
FSD is actually pretty good in many ways. But…
Come along with me on this special test drive!

Sharing your favorite X-Combo

I am making some short videos about favorite X-Combos. Like this one.

https://youtu.be/gO2DZHTTJmU?si=lrezkYmPoeXnJbcZ

Please send me your favorite X-Combo. The code, a description plus why it is your favorite. You also could send me a short video about what it is doing. Can be in any language.
I want to make a compilation.

This way you are helping other XPENG owners. Isn‘t it fun to do?
Thanks.

Poll!

Sometimes we wonder how satisfied our members on Discord are about their car(s). Please give your vote in this poll. Could also about a different model than your current. It’s about the brand XPENG.
Question: would buy an XPENG again? So, please not here. Then we can’t count the votes anymore. Thanks for understanding.

Test drive in France with new feature

I made a challenging test drive in the south of France. Testing the new functionality of the ADAS 5.9.5.
Now you can switch to off the deacceleration in curves. Normally I use this on the highway. On the roads in France it was very challenging.
I hope you like it, but don’t try this at home😁.
And if you like my videos subscribe to the channel. And you also can let me know what I should test or show next.
And remind that I am not a pro. I’m just an owner of an XPENG too. Just like you.

Sharing and copying X-Combos

In fact this is the fun part. Most of the combos I use are from others. But I modify them mostly.
What do you do?

Testing APA in 5.9.5 parking out

Sometimes you have to test the system in almost impossible situations. The APA performed quite well, although you do need a bit of patience at times.
I’ll also be running some tests in more typical, everyday situations.
If there’s anything you’d like me to test, just let me know.
Feel free to record your own experiences on video and send them to me. I can put together a nice compilation.

XPENG Mona L03 reveiled

Lijkt me een interessante auto.

How practical is the P7+ in narrow streets of an old city?

I’ve made a video of my testdrive with the P7+ in the narrow streets of Utrecht. Since Hugo Sousa already made a review of the P7+ on bigger roads I was curious how it would drive in the city. I drove in the old Dutch city Utrecht. How practical is a car that is over 5m in these narrow streets? How is parking? What is good? What is less good IMO?
Was fun to do. Hope you share your opinion in the comments.

The workshops in China

Hugo Sousa made a nice video about our experiences in China. He shows quite a lot of the presentations we attended. So this way you get a good impression what we heard over there. And also can see how cautious the people of XPENG where when we asked questions about for example the chips in our current models. And what we can expect in the future. I think that the answer on my question on 9:10 about the Orion-X and Turing chips and a little bit later on the question of Hugo about the speed of the developments shows how difficult it was to get concrete answers. It was one of the most asked question from our user community on Discord.

But I really hope you enjoy this video.
