Rant

So I’ve been on lamotrigine for over 7 years now and I’ve ran out of my medication. I called a week before my meds ran out and they told me I already picked up my medication 4 days ago so they can’t refill it yet. I’m so incredibly disappointed, the withdrawal is horrible and each time I call they get more annoyed and one lady hung up on me this morning.

Not having the medicine in my system is triggering my mania and it’s really horrible. I’ve worked so hard to minimize it and I haven’t had an episode in quite a while and now it’s back and I guess I’m sad. Feel like all my hard work was for nothing

I’ve kind of given up on the app and just calling the departments directly because the layout changed and not for the better. Navigating it is pretty tough especially with my withdrawal side effects and mania.

Has anybody else ever had problems refilling medications? I just don’t get why they make it so complicated and frustrating… like obviously if I had gotten my medication I wouldn’t be calling multiple departments everyday

What kind is this?

I am unfortunately deathly afraid of spiders, and this guy thought it was a fun idea to join me in the shower. Ran out of there with soap in my hair to have a family member relocate him outside. I know absolutely nothing about spiders and we’re all unsure what kind he is? Figured I’d ask here

My new job has so many red flags, how can I fix my situation?

Hi all, I guess I’m looking for some thoughts or advice. I started a new job this week after being unemployed for almost 4 months, and I feel very concerned and in fight or flight mode nonstop.

I still haven’t filled out any paperwork the whole time I’ve been here and I haven’t even met my boss yet. All week I’ve been hearing from my other coworkers is that he’s toxic and miserable and that’s worrying, but I know to keep my head down “yes sir” and all of that. I was never given a formal offer letter either so I feel pretty uncertain. I also was not properly interviewed. I walked in and handed my resume/cover letter, and the hiring manager texted me a few hours later asking me to come in later that week.

I’ve been unemployed for so long that my finances are unstable and my instability is turning into insecurity. The crew told me that they’ve been having people come in for weeks now to work a couple shifts and to be let go without reason. I was informed today that they have someone coming in this next week who has over 20 years of experience working in diners and that worries me because I’m 23 and don’t have much experience. I’ve worked in multiple restaurants but mainly as a server and I know my experience would never compete. The pay is terrible, I’m making half of the amount I did at my previous job despite having more hours. I’m a very hard worker, after each shift I’ve felt proud of the work I’ve done. I’m not the greatest in the world but I do better than some others I’ve worked with in the past.

It’s a line cook position in a small diner and when I first walked in I was immediately thrown on the grill. They didn’t even ask if I had a food handlers card or if I washed my hands or not. I saw the other cook there blowing his nose and immediately touching raw meat with his hands without washing them and it really grossed me out. Everything was very dirty, and I understand that every kitchen gets crazy when tons of orders come in, but the place was DEAD. The entire time I’ve worked there for 8 hour shifts we’d have maybe 10 people come in each day, so there was zero excuse for the restaurant to be that filthy. I watched another coworker smoke a cigarette outside and immediately came back on the line without washing his hands. I don’t judge people who smoke but my god please wash your hands before touching food barehanded. It also goes against my own morals, getting someone sick is really upsetting to me, especially not knowing if someone has a compromised immune system or illness.

The job market is HORRIBLE right now (as we all know) and I’ve basically been begging companies to give me a chance and haven’t heard back from most of them. I have lots of experience but I don’t have any degrees or specialized training in anything. It seems to me that “no experience required” jobs simply don’t exist anymore. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen recently and idk what’s up but getting denied from mcdonalds and walmart was really humbling. Getting denied from jobs that are prominently known to hire anyone with any experience is really disheartening. I do have a safe place to stay while I get back on my feet and I’m currently on food stamps so I have food to eat as well, and I’m grateful for both. So that’s relieving in a way but obviously having money minimizes stress

I guess I just don’t know what to make of it. I desperately need money but I cannot relax from the lack of communication and uncertainty. My mental health is really taking a toll and I don’t know what to do. Reaching out as a last resort to reddit strangers for some guidance I suppose haha but what do y’all think?

Food banks?

I recently moved here from out of state and I’m in the process of closing my food stamp account from that state. I’m not able to apply for Oregon yet until my other account closes. I lost my job and can’t afford food

Any recommendations for food banks in the area? Something I can do in the meantime while I wait for an update if I get approved for food stamps in Oregon, I can walk or take the bus

How to find people to play with?

I don’t have any friends or family who play the game and was wondering how you find people who will play with you? Most of the fills I do they’re either bots or leave right after they get downed. I play all modes, build, zero build, reload and reluctantly OG haha but any suggestions are much appreciated

How to find a friend here?

Hi to anyone reading, I’m 23 NB and I just moved here solo from Seattle. I absolutely love it here but I’m really lonely. I don’t have a single friend down here and it’s getting to me. I’m not in school and I was reading online that’s the easiest way for people my age to meet others but I’m not ready for college yet. I started a job a couple weeks ago as a barista, I love it but my coworkers are much older than me and I feel a big disconnect.

I’m a pretty laid back person, I love most things and I really want to open my horizons more. Being out in nature is fun, I love photography, art of all forms and video games too. Going on drives and getting lost is one of my favorite things. I love animals and going on adventures, I’m a huge stoner too and I’m lgbt, very inclusive of everyone. I love musical instruments as well

I’ve been looking on meetup too, most of the listings require lots of money or supplies which I don’t have from the move. I’m not a huge drinker anymore either

If your friend group has an opening I’d love to submit my application haha thank you to anyone still reading

A safe but affordable place to live?

Hey there to anyone reading where’s a safe but somewhat decently priced place to live in the area? I’m looking for an apartment with my friend and we’re not sure where to aim for or avoid. We don’t mind paying a little extra to make sure of that but hoping to not spend more than 2500

Any insight is much appreciated thank you

Hi to anyone reading, I moved here alone last week and I don’t know anybody in the area. Does anyone have any recommendations for getting more involved with the community to feel less lonely? I’m in my mid 20s and I start my new job in a couple of weeks. I’ve read about some good parks in the area to go on walks, so I can get out of the house but I don’t have any friends or family

I love nature, art, animals, going on drives and pretty much everything. I’m lgbt and stoner friendly, I love all types of people
