Guys realistically, how much do you think you will inherit from your parents in future?

I genuinely feel our generation will find it much harder to build wealth completely alone compared to previous generations.

With:

growing inflation

insane real estate prices

competition everywhere

corruption/networking culture

AI affecting future salaries/jobs

lifestyle inflation

I honestly feel owning a good house/property in metro cities without family help will become very difficult for average people.

Plus nowadays it feels like even having a working partner with dual income is becoming almost necessary if someone wants a comfortable lifestyle and not just survival.

So I was curious:

how much role do you think inheritance/family support will play in our generation’s future?

15–17+ crore net worth breakdown in India — would this be considered rich or upper middle class now?

Genuine question because social media has completely confused me about what “middle class” and “rich” even mean in India now.

People online say even 40–50 LPA salary is still middle class, while others say net worth matters more than salary.

For context, my family’s assets are mostly spread across:

mutual funds/stocks/FDs

gold

primary house

some plots/land in tier 3 city

agriculture land/orchard

a few other investments

A lot of it is illiquid and not monthly cash flow, which is why I get confused when people classify wealth.

So realistically in India today, what matters more for calling someone rich:

salary/income?

net worth?

liquid investments?

lifestyle?

inherited assets?

Not trying to brag genuinely asking because internet definitions seem completely different from real life.

How do u guys do it bhai?

the stress and pressure literally never ends.

first after grad u stress about scoring good in CAT.

then CAT gets over and now stress about interviews.

after interviews, stress about conversion and college tier.

after that stress about fees and first day and fitting in.

then summer internship placements.

then final placements.

then package comparison with friends.

then pressure of repaying 20–30 lakhs fees.

and even after all this there’s no guarantee u end up with 10–15 lpa jobs, especially for tier 1.5–2 colleges where cg pressure is also insane.

and after job comes marriage pressure 💀

genuinely asking, how do people mentally handle this constant race without burning out?

Guys need some genuine career advice?

I’m 21, graduating in 3 months and have cleared CFA Level 2. My profile is 8/9/6, so because of the 6 in grad I know many top MBA options become difficult.

My parents gave me ₹10 lakh after clearing each CFA level, so currently I have around ₹20 lakh for investing/savings.

Now I’m confused between:

Preparing for CAT 2026/27

Or joining SRCC GBO since fees are low and placements are decent (\~₹12–13 LPA from what I’ve heard).

The thing is, if I join SRCC GBO, I’ll get placements plus my parents will also give me the additional ₹20 lakh that would’ve otherwise gone into expensive MBA fees, so that money can also go into investments/savings.

So my thinking is:

Do SRCC GBO, start working early, keep building investments, and later maybe do an online MBA from NMIMS/SIBM while working.

So wanted to ask:

Is SRCC GBO + CFA + work ex enough for a strong finance career?

Does an online MBA actually help later for promotions/switches?

Or should I still go all-in for CAT despite the 6 in profile?

Would appreciate honest advice from people already working in finance/corporate.
