Hi hi, I understand this lack of knowledge will make me sound like an extremely irresponsible owner, but I need help with measuring my boys daily food. I was instructed to feed him 1/4 cup a day, but I worry it may be too much or too little due to how he looks.

He’s a mini rex, I believe 1 lb, but I know rabbit gastrointestinal tracts are so so sensitive from experience, so I want to do my best to better care for his food portions.

Ive been told rabbits of different sizes require different measurements, and I want to ensure my boy has the absolutely perfect amount of food he can have.

I’ve had him for 4 years so I should know this stuff super well, but I’m learning every day and I want to ensure I do my best to know things from now on.

I’ve been struggling a lot mentally for the past few years, and sometimes I worry I’m not as attentive as i should be.

I don’t pet him super super often because he’s quite skittish, though when he’s willing, I’ll absolutely give him snuggles and pets.

I only change his box 2x a week or so, because it’s been difficult to get out of bed, and I don’t give him a ton of daily treats like everyone I see doing online.

He looks fine outwardly, mostly calm and mellow, but territorial and tightly wound, but I can’t tell how he’s feeling for sure, so I worry I’m not picking up on signals I should for his mood or health.

I do not have him in an x pen like a lot of you, I have him free roaming the entirety of my room, being let out every so often when out other animals aren’t around.

I just… I’m not sure I’m doing enough for him. I absolutely love him but I worry I’m not attentive enough or taking good enough care to be fit as a furdad.

I’m not exactly sure how rabbits are meant to be kept and treated on a regular basis, so I’m here to see kind of if this lifestyle sounds suitable for a rabbit

(Due to my mental health issues, I do sometimes leave clothes or extra drawing paper out and he will chew that up. I’m not sure if this is going to affect him in terms of emotional and physical health)
