New to this - help appreciated

Hey so a few days ago I discovered the game, and I got pretty interested with it. On the website I have done Course 1.

What I need some help with is I found the puzzles fun but the thing that really gets me is splitting the indicators, fodder and definition. I always seem to get close but I just can’t seem to get how to split it or what’s the best way to find that, any help would be really appreciated.

Learning black cat

So I tried her out at the start and the amount of abilities from the shop she had made me just not play her.

I picked her up recently and found her to be soooo fun, I jut lorded Cyclops and now want to try get good with her.

I’m still not that good but I’m able to keep up with the other dps. Only use the crown ability and sometimes the anti-cc if there’s luna.

Essentially any tips to get good with her?

Best game

Sometimes he feels a bit eh but this game I had phoenix most of the game and they lined up perfectly for my ults and man it was so fun.

4 rounds on Klyntar (I know), we got the point (on round 3) all the way to the end on 1 min, what a team!

Finally did it

Took me 20 hours in total, finally got him to lord. Most fun character I’ve played so far, when you have Jean on your team the team up is insane. Just wanted to share now back to ranked I guess :)

Career advice

I don’t know if this is the right place to post but I need some advice.

I used to work in tech and was thinking to do a masters in organic chem to transition to this field or to go into synthetic biology. I’ve found some masters and speaking to the professors they gave me some content to do and I’d be able to join the programmes essentially.

That’s not the issue. The issue is if this kind of investment would be worth it. I’m happy to go on to do a PhD after and my goals overall would be to either go into polymer chemistry or sustainable chemistry, or very competitive but find a training scheme to be a flavourist. If not that then doing genetics/synthetic engineering.

I’m in the UK and just wondering if any professionals would have any advice if it would be worth it pursuing?

Thanks in advance

Career advice

Not sure if this is the right sub but some advice would be nice

I used to work in tech and essentially my heart isn’t in it anymore and could try get into vfx for games or like shader art and try go into that. I live in the UK and is it worth it or is it a pipe dream with the way it’s going? I’ve seen some people say indie is doing better and people are still buying games with tech artists and vfx/shaders still being employable, but there’s seems to also be a lot of professionals out of work or is that the loud ones? It is Reddit after all.

Would this be a waste of time to pursue, advice from anyone in the games industry would be much appreciated?

Thanks in advance

Need help between 3 fields

So I come from a background of tech and I can’t seem to get back into it, honestly my heart isn’t really in it anymore anyway and I’ve boiled it down to 3 general paths that would suit me, it’s just I’m not sure which is the better investment. If anyone has advice or any experience in these fields it would be super helpful (they are broad-ish so just going to drop them below):

Tech art especially vfx for games or shader development and potentially UX/UI: I have some experience in ux/ui and have used Houdini/Niagara before and would go down the games path or anything really at first.

Synthetic biology/biotech or microbio/parasitology. So engineering biology or going for more medical based work, with synthetic biology id be interested to go into food systems and potentially agriculture.

Sustainable chemistry (this one links to idea 2 but the reason for it would be to go into flavour science, quite competitive but it’s creative and technical so I think would suit me quite well), apart from flavour I could do organic chemistry.

I’ve found courses etc for all of these I would be accepted to that’s not the issue/question it’s the question of what’s the best choice and if I’d regret going one over the other due to not enough work or it being too niche etc.

These are all for roles in the UK, any advice appreciated!

Help with being vegan

I’m gonna make 2 points here and I don’t want to sound mean from them so if you don’t have anything nice to add just scroll past.

  1. I want to eat less meat even go full vegan but I just see so many vegans that put me off it. I haven’t been on this sub before but on everything it’s like this oh if you eat meat you’re evil, if you want to reduce meat not fully cut it out you’re a murderer, etc etc. It just puts me off the whole community and idea of being associated and I just always go whatever and just keep to my usual diet of eating meat, I don’t know how to get over how some people just fully ruin the message of being vegan to the point it feels shameful to even do it. It’s like those people that ruin liking anime.

  2. I really love the taste of meat. I’ve tried tofu and things like jackfruit and it just all is meh at best. Tempeh was the best but after a few days I got so bored of it. The flavour of meat, I just haven’t been able to replace it so any recommendations of ways to find food that can be a replacement would be super helpful, even if vegetarian etc.

Overall I’d like to at least reduce the consumption amount that I have so any help with what is actually good that you recommend for your friends that eat meat etc stuff like that would be amazing to hear so I could try.

Thanks for reading.

New term for those who use AI

I saw someone call an AI user a “Cog Sucker”.

I’d like to add calling them Slop Swallowers and Sloppists (for those who steal art to make slop generations).

Dino

I love playing rogue, some buffs would be good but otherwise she feels fun to play. However, I feel like Dino is going to be a better Rogue… the shield is better and he has more health and brawl/dive options. It’s like Phoenix is Hela 2.0 I’m worried Dino will be Rogue 2.0.

I know he’s not out yet but that’s just how the abilities feel so far from the trailer.
