2010 Mercedes S550 (W221) stranded immediately after fueling up. Looking for ideas before I approve major repairs.

Symptoms:
Dash fully powers on
Interior lights, gauges, COMAND, etc all work
Brake lights work
Push-button start
No clicking from starter
Initially absolutely no crank at all

After disconnecting/reconnecting the trunk battery, I now get one very weak partial crank and then nothing
Happened immediately after filling the gas tank

Things I already tried:
Physical key in slot instead of push-button
Lock/unlock cycle
Battery disconnect/reset
Firm brake pedal
Checked brake lights
Vehicle:
2010 Mercedes-Benz S550 W221

Does this sound more like:
dead/weak trunk battery,
starter,
ESL/EIS issue,
fuel/EVAP related,
or something else?
Any known W221 failure points I should specifically mention to the tow shop?
