Is there anyone here who was in Afghanistan in 2001?

I was recently watching a documentary about the American invas1on in 2001, and in one of those clips it showed the men and women in Kabul celebrating in the streets after the Taliban was expelled from the city, they were dancing, playing music and throwing flowers to the northern alliance soldiers.

My question is how was it to be in Afghanistan in 2001? What was it like when the Taliban was overthrown? How did the people of Afghanistan view Americans at that time?

Who is your favourite Afghan leader and why?

I’ll start with my favourite who is king Amanullah khan. In my opinion he had the best vision for Afghanistan, firstly he’s the reason that Afghanistan got independence from British influence, making us a full sovereign country, he introduced mandatory education for both genders, he outlawed slavery (which was recently legalized again by the Taliban) and he wanted to curb power from the tribes and wanted to create a constitutional monarchy. I know he’s a controversial figure since he was a secularist and took inspiration from Ataturk, who a lot of Afghans really don’t like for obvious reasons, but just take a look at turkey now compared to our country, I’m not saying I fully agree with his ideology, especially as a Muslim myself, but I do believe he had the best vision for Afghanistan compared to any other leader.
