Are the Smile movies misogynistic?

I’ve been stuck with the thought lately of wondering if the Smile movies are misogynistic.

The reasons I have been feeling this way are because:

- i feel like they are trying to play on mentally distressed women for entertainment through their mental distress scenes of seeing the entity.
- in the first movie Rose gets treated horribly by everyone around her and support by only one person.
- in the second movie Sky gets pressured a lot by people around her to keep performing ignoring her distress.
- instead of making them have friendships with female characters they get mistreated by the women in their lives (Rose gets treated horribly by her sister Holly and Sky has a complicated relationship with her mom and at the end it is revealed she is no longer friends with Gemma)
- both movies end with them not beating the curse and having a tragic death

Do yall consider these movies to be misogynistic?

I don’t know if I am overthinking things or if anyone else understands how I feel.

Have you ever experienced insecurity?

I’ve been wondering lately if for nudists who go to nude resorts, beaches, or any gatherings when you see a nudist with a fit body if you have ever experienced feelings of insecurity or self comparison? Or is that non existent due to everyone not wearing clothes?

Heteroromantic Bisexual?

I (21 M) feel that I am very likely heteroromantic bisexual. I have found both women and men hot and have had intimate fantasies about both. However I have never experienced romantic feelings towards a man and don’t see myself with one in the future. I have only experienced romantic feelings towards women and only see myself with a woman long term.

Could this be what I am? And should it be worth it to tell people in my life I am this even if I am not going to date men?

Do you consider the restaurant Bacon Bitch to be offensive?

On TikTok I came across this restaurant called Bacon Bitch where the waitresses introduce themselves as “hey bitches I’m your bitch” and call the customers bitch when asking what they would like to eat and drink.

It seems that they try to encourage customers to call them bitch back. (There are videos of customers saying stuff like “bitch I would like a (food item)”) and waitresses play along.

Is this concept an offensive concept?

My mean girls modern head cannons

These are my headcanons for Mean Girls characters if they were in modern times:

-Cady has “be kind” or “spread kindness” in her bio

-Karen falls for AI animal videos and reposts them to her story thinking they are real

-Regina has vacation vlogs and a house tour video posted on her TikTok

-Gretchen runs the school’s crush confessions page

-Janis hates AI art and criticizes it every time she sees it

-Damian is on celebrity stan twitter and argues with people who hate on his favorite celebrities

-Aaron hates reality tv but only watches it when Cady makes him

-Kevin G has only 10 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Wonder what yall think?

Do priests giggle a bit at kids’ confessions?

I was remembering recently that when I was a kid I would confess things like “I ate dessert when I wasn’t supposed to, I didn’t go to sleep at my bedtime, I think about my crush too much, I acted silly in class” and now they I’m older I wonder if the priests likely giggled a little internally at funny things such as this that kids confess or if they stay serious internally?

Not liking sad things in movies/shows

I have struggled with not liking sad things in movies and shows. I have ended up side eyes and “um… what”s from people for not liking sad things in movies and shows. For example:

- I didn’t like the movie Smile because I felt bad for how Rose was treated the whole movie and how she had a sad ending.

- when Spider-Man far from home came out I didn’t like the post credit scene because I felt bad for him that he got his identity revealed to everyone and everyone thought he was evil

- in cobra Kai I didn’t like Kenny turning mean because I felt bad that he got so bullied that he ended up mean.

This has gotten me questioned by people often and I was wondering if:

  1. This is something any other neurodiverse people experience?
  2. Is there any way I can train my brain to not dislike sad things? And if so how? (So that I can fit in more socially and not be questioned)

How are SSA people in onsens & bathhouses viewed?

In Japan is there stigma around same sex attracted individuals in onsens and bath houses? Do people care about that or do they just let others be? (Cause I know many people in Japan keep to themselves however I’ve heard that plenty of people are still conservative)

In the United States some people refuse to change in front of a same sex attracted person because they believe the person is looking and attracted to them. But I wonder if it is different in Japan cause US doesn’t really have bathhouse & onsen culture.

Sir title for Tom Holland in future?

I’ve recently learned about the Sir title in the UK that a lot of celebrities have earned.

Do a majority of British people think it would be likely that Tom Holland will earn the Sir title in the future? If not what would prevent him from that title?

I’ve known he’s had a lot of success in the MCU movies, and worldwide success as a celebrity, and also doing charity work

Is listening to Book of Mormon Sinful?

I’ve been wondering lately if it is sinful to listen to the Book of Mormon soundtrack? This musical satirizes religion and does lean into dark humor. Two of the songs in the musical often get called the most blasphemous which are “Hasa Diga Ebowai” and “Man Up”. Ive been listening to the soundtrack because I think the songs are good and i like the performances of Josh and Andrew.

It has never caused me to go away from God because I still pray daily, go to mass, and read Catholic books. I’ve also never said or posted anything offensive about Catholicism or any figures of Catholicism.

But should I avoid listening or can I still listen?

Thoughts on AnthisCatholic

@anthiscatholic is a Catholic creator who has appeared pretty often on my fyp on insta and he has received some criticisms for sounding harsh in his videos and sticking to traditional ideology but I’ve also seen some praise for defending Catholicism and helping bring young people to Christ.

I personally still think he’s still young and wouldn’t be too harsh on him for having traditional ideology (cause people’s views might start to change more and be more progressive as they grow older) but I do appreciate the fact that he’s helping bring young people to Christ.

But overall what are yall’s thoughts on him?

EDIT: i see that I probably used the wrong terminology with saying “traditional” because he has never defended nazis or racism anything like that but he does support the conservative ideologies such as being anti-abortion, anti-lgbt, and anti women in clergy.

Also I’m 50/50 on the bringing people to Christ part cause it’s good that people are joining and become of interested in the church however they are joining the church with conservative views which I do not agree with.

Thoughts on Joshua Broome?

What are this subreddit’s thoughts on ex adult film star Joshua Broome (formerly Rocco Reed)? I’ve seen some praise online from mostly Christians for calling out the porn industry but I’ve also seen a few criticisms for him saying he’s “not bi anymore” and having some more conservative ideology.
