I sell collectible toys. I have had 2 different situations now where I ship multiple items, and the customer receives the package with missing items. And a third where the tape on the box had obviously been cut open and the items were not wrapped in what I had shipped them in.

The first time I thought I was crazy, I searched high and low for the items missing from my customers order to no avail. I let it go, issued a refund for missing items. The second time I reported it and they basically told me the package reached its destination so they aren’t responsible for anything.

Now I have this new situation where the package was obviously tampered with.
This is my business and my reputation on the line.
I cannot afford to have items go missing. Going to be using fed ex at least for the time being, but I feel I have no recourse at my disposal and it really sucks. I have spent years building a reputation for myself and trust with my customer base, I can’t have highly limited often irreplaceable, expensive, highly sought after items just vanish into thin air.
What can I do???

Really want to watch this show. I’ve been able to find ep 1, but that’s about it.

I’ve seen several artists recently say whether about specific pieces or in general that they will blacklist anyone caught reselling their work. Now I can understand this attitude toward scalping and flipping especially regarding extremely limited/1 off pieces. But as a collector that genuinely cherishes what I buy, my tastes grow and evolve over time and part of this hobby for me is the ability to trade or sell pieces from my collection over time to replace them with new stuff that suits the direction my collection is drifting toward. Now there are obviously pieces I would never part with, and I have never entered a drawing or preorder with the express intent of reselling or flipping the piece. What are you guys’ thoughts on this?
