Subterranean Megastructure Survey Beneath Manhattan — Deep City Structural Analysis

Images from Deep City — Expedition Log EX2407pD-QW — circa 2407 post-Awakening, led by Dr. Noam Ørbital.

Image 1: Structural Reconstruction Protocol (≈2060, pre-Awakening)

Image 2: Expedition EX2407pD-QW survey capture (circa 2407 post-Awakening)

Image 3: Preliminary structural cartography

Current measurements estimate a subterranean cavity approximately 3000 × 3000 × 1500 meters in scale. Inside the cavern, four suspended megastructures are positioned around a central geometric axis. Estimated dimensions per structure: 200 meters high, 32 meters wide, and up to 675 meters in longitudinal extension.

Operational indicators appear concentrated toward the inward-facing sectors, suggesting internalized circulation, habitation, or industrial processing rather than external urban exposure.

A central floating object remains mechanically aligned with both the suspended structures and the primary access corridor descending from the surface. No surviving engineering framework, recovered energy model, or decrypted Ilghal archive currently explains the stabilization mechanism capable of sustaining suspended masses of this scale underground.

All interpretations remain provisional pending continued structural reconstruction analysis.

Main Premise

Deep City Project is a science-fantasy/cyberpunk worldbuilding setting focused on a hidden megacity buried beneath the ruins of New York. After an ancient technological collapse known as the Awakening, the surviving inhabitants descended into colossal underground structures sustained by forgotten systems no longer fully understood.

Over centuries, technology became indistinguishable from ritual, and many systems are now interpretedes still emit interior light centuries after the collapse of Deep City.

At the center floats an unidentified object aligned with the main descent axis into the underworld. Some expedition members believe it is an ancient machine. Others suspect it may be tied to the Ilghal Protocol — a system many inhabitants now interpret as a godlike presence beneath the city.

Feedback

• Does this feel closer to lost technology or mystical architecture?

• What kind of civilization would build suspended structures like these?

• Should the central object remain unexplained, or eventually receive a canonical function?

• Does the atmosphere lean enough into science-fantasy for this setting?

Deep City — Suspended Megablocks Beneath Frozen Manhattan

Images from Deep City, a sci-fi/cyberpunk worldbuilding project developed through Blender 3D environmental reconstruction workflows.

Image 1: Structural Reconstruction Protocol (≈2060, pre-Awakening)

Image 2: Expedition EX2407pD-QW (circa 2407 post-Awakening)

Image 3: Preliminary structural mapping

Deep beneath frozen Manhattan, four colossal suspended megablocks remain aligned around a central geometric axis inside a cavern nearly 3000 × 3000 × 1500 meters in scale. Interior illumination and inward-facing structures suggest that most activity once occurred deep inside the city rather than on its exterior surfaces.

At the center of the cavern, a floating object remains suspended between the structures and the main descent corridor leading into the underworld. Its function — and the mechanism keeping the entire city suspended — remains unknown.

Deep City Structural Survey — Suspended Megablocks Beneath Frozen Manhattan

Images from Deep City — Expedition Log EX2407pD-QW — circa 2407 post-Awakening, led by Dr. Noam Ørbital.

Image 1: Structural Reconstruction Protocol (≈2060, pre-Awakening)

Image 2: Expedition EX2407pD-QW (circa 2407 post-Awakening)

Image 3: Preliminary structural mapping

Current measurements estimate the cavern at approximately 3000 × 3000 × 1500 meters. Four suspended megablocks surround a central axis; each structure measures roughly 200 meters high, 32 meters wide, and extends up to 675 meters longitudinally. Their inward-facing orientation suggests organized circulation or industrial activity concentrated within the internal sectors.

The most significant anomaly remains the floating central object suspended between the structures. No surviving engineering protocol, energy classification, or decrypted Ilghal archive currently explains how the city maintains stable suspension within the cavern.

All conclusions remain provisional pending further Ilghal reconstruction analysis.

Structural Reconstruction of a Lost Subterranean Megacity Beneath Frozen Manhattan

Inter-Enclave Transcription / Ilghal-QW Channel

Date: 2407 p.A.

Origin: Expedition EX2407pD-QW (Subterranean Atlantic Zone)

Destination: Eurasian Enclave Laboratories

Images 01–03 document a partial Ilghal fragment reconstructed through Structural Reconstruction Protocol (Blender 3D v. ∞) and compared against direct expedition observations. Current analysis suggests a suspended megacity contained inside a 3000x3000x1500m cavern beneath the Atlantic sector of frozen New York.

The structure consists of four aligned floating blocks. Estimated dimensions: 200m height, 32m width, maximum recorded length 675m. A central floating object intersects the city’s geometric axis and aligns with the external access shaft. Internal illumination patterns indicate activity concentrated inside the structures rather than on external surfaces.

No verified mechanism explaining structural suspension has been recovered. All interpretations remain provisional under Ilghal analysis protocols.

Expedition EX2407pD-QW: Preliminary Structural Analysis of a Suspended Subterranean Megacity

Inter-Enclave Transcription / Ilghal-QW Channel

Date: 2407 p.A.

Origin: Expedition EX2407pD-QW (Subterranean Atlantic Zone)

Destination: Eurasian Enclave Laboratories

Expedition EX2407pD-QW conducted a comparative analysis between direct visual observation and a Structural Reconstruction Protocol simulation (Blender 3D v. ∞) derived from the same Ilghal fragment set.

Observed environment: subterranean cavity measuring approximately 3000x3000x1500m beneath the frozen Manhattan sector.

The structure consists of four contiguous suspended blocks with estimated dimensions of 200m height, 32m width, and up to 675m longitudinal extension.

The primary access conduit aligns with a central floating object located at the geometric midpoint of the structure. Light emissions detected along internal apertures indicate habitation or active infrastructure concentrated toward inward-facing sectors.

No surviving engineering record, energy signature classification, or recovered protocol currently explains the suspension system maintaining structural equilibrium inside the cavern.

All interpretations remain provisional pending further Ilghal decryption.

2 images:

1- Deep City - Post-2053 revolution period (± decades)

2- Deep City - Circa 2407 post-Awakening

Main Premise

Deep City Project is an original post-Awakening science fiction setting focused on the ruins of a hidden megacity suspended inside a colossal underground cavern beneath frozen New York. After the 2053 Revolution, surviving systems, encrypted Ilghal protocols, and fragmented reconstruction archives became the only remaining sources capable of explaining how the city functioned.

The setting follows scientific expeditions centuries later as they compare recovered code fragments with the physical ruins still buried below the surface.

Image Context

These renders depict one of the central discoveries made by the EX2407pD-QW expedition in 2407 post-Awakening.

The expedition confirmed that the gigantic “ventilation shafts” above Deep City never connected to the outside world. The ceiling cavities are completely blind, despite still emitting residual energy signatures. According to reconstructed Ilghal models, the entire city once floated suspended inside the cavern for reasons still unknown.

Below the suspended city lies a massive lower layer known in recovered expedition logs as the Underworld — a collapsed industrial abyss now submerged in radioactive sludge.

One detail I wanted to emphasize visually is the contradiction between scale and function: structures that appear engineered for survival may never have had any practical purpose at all.

I’d love feedback on:

Whether the suspended city concept feels believable

If the cavern scale reads correctly visually

Interpretations of what the false ventilation systems may originally have been designed for

Deep City Project

2 images:

1- Deep City - Post-2053 revolution period (± decades)

2- Deep City - Circa 2407 post-Awakening

Main Premise

Deep City Project is an original post-Awakening science fiction world set beneath a frozen New York, where a suspended megacity remained hidden inside a gigantic megalithic cavern after the 2053 Revolution. Most of the available information about this environment comes from encrypted Ilghal fragments reconstructed through Structural Reconstruction Protocols and compared against direct observations made by later expeditions.

Image Context

These images are part of the analysis conducted by the EX2407pD-QW expedition during the descent into Deep City’s primary cavern in 2407 post-Awakening.

The most disturbing aspect is not the visible structural collapse, but the fact that the supposed ventilation systems were never connected to the surface. The massive ceiling sockets are blind structures. They emit residual energy, yet lead nowhere.

Reconstructed models derived from Ilghal code further indicate that Deep City remained suspended inside the cavern decades after the 2053 Revolution. The expedition has found no technological evidence capable of explaining the physical mechanism involved.

Beneath the suspended structure lies the “Underworld,” a region previously mentioned in warnings recovered from the vanished EX2101pD-WG expedition. By 2407, the entire system has collapsed and remains partially submerged in radioactive residue.

I would especially appreciate feedback regarding:

The visual plausibility of the suspended structure

The architectural readability of the cavern

Your interpretation of the original function of the blind shafts

Hey everyone,

I’m starting a series of posts around a long-term worldbuilding project called Deep City, and I’d really appreciate some feedback from the community.

These two images are part of the same location, but separated by more than 300 years in the narrative timeline.

Tech:

Blender 3D (render + compositor only, no external post)

HUD overlay done in Affinity Designer

No AI, everything is handmade (story, concepts, modeling, lighting, etc.)

Concept:

Image 1: Deep City fully operational (pre-collapse, ~300+ years before the current timeline)

Image 2: Same space in its current state — abandoned, collapsed, no life (circa 2407 post-Awakening)

Narratively, these visuals come from an expedition log (EX2407pD-QW), where fragments of a system called Ilghal are being reconstructed using a fictional “Structural Reconstruction Protocol” (basically Blender as an in-world tool).

The goal here isn’t just standalone renders, but to make each image part of a larger narrative progression.

What I’d love feedback on:

Does the 300-year contrast read clearly without explanation?

Lighting / atmosphere: does it feel believable and cohesive between both states?

Composition: is the focal point working, or too busy?

The HUD overlay: does it enhance the scene or distract from it?

Any thoughts on storytelling through environment alone?

If anyone’s curious, this ties into a larger narrative project (robots, layered city, system decay, etc.)

Thanks in advance — I’ll be posting more from this series soon.

Origin: Expedition EX2407pD-QW (Subterranean Atlantic Zone)

Destination: Eurasian Enclave Laboratories

Operational entry into megalithic cavity confirmed (3000m x 3000m x 1500m). Atmospheric conditions: high density, reduced visibility due to suspended particulate matter. Initial structural readings: inconsistent with previously decrypted Ilghal models.

Collected visual and metric data indicate two incompatible states of the same infrastructure:

Suspended structure: stable cubic modules, precise geometric alignment, active energy nodes. Matches reconstructions generated under Structural Reconstruction Protocol (Blender 3D v. ∞).

Current observed state: generalized structural collapse, platform fragmentation, absence of detectable energy activity. Presence of mechanical remains with no functional pattern.

No operational entities or system traffic detected. Total structural silence.

Primary hypothesis: Ilghal fragments do not represent the current state, but a specific temporal window. Estimated correlation: post-2053 revolution period (± decades). Temporal gap relative to direct observation: ~350 years.

Reconstructed models are not predictive. They are historical.

Support systems required for structural suspension are not active in the present state. No progressive transition between both states has been identified. Intermediate data is missing.

Preliminary conclusion: Deep City did not evolve into the expected state. It underwent total systemic interruption within an undocumented interval.

Deep City (2407): Why Decrypted Models Show a Functional Megastructure—but We Found Total Collapse

Transcription Inter-Enclave / Ilghal-QW Channel

Date: 2407 p.A.

Origin: Expedition EX2407pD-QW (Subterranean Atlantic Zone)

Destination: Eurasian Enclave Laboratories

Expedition EX2407pD-QW has confirmed entry into a megalithic cavity (3000m x 3000m x 1500m) located beneath the Atlantic sector. Environmental conditions: high-density atmosphere, persistent particulate suspension, low-visibility field.

All previously decrypted Ilghal fragments, combined with Structural Reconstruction Protocol outputs (Blender 3D v. ∞), indicated the presence of a large-scale suspended city: geometrically aligned cubic modules, active energy nodes, and stable structural distribution.

Direct observation contradicts these models.

Current state assessment:

– Total structural collapse

– Fragmented platforms with no coherent alignment

– Absence of detectable energy systems

– No active entities or system-level activity

No transitional layers or intermediate states have been identified between the reconstructed model and the observed collapse.

Primary hypothesis: Ilghal fragments are temporally bound datasets. They reconstruct a past state of Deep City, not its current condition. Estimated timeframe: post-2053 revolution period (± decades). Temporal gap: approximately 350 years prior to expedition arrival.

Implication: Ilghal is not a predictive system. It is a historical encoding mechanism.

This suggests that Deep City experienced a full systemic failure within an undocumented interval.

The absence of degradation gradients indicates either rapid collapse or data loss across intermediate phases.

Next steps:

– Extract additional Ilghal fragments for temporal cross-referencing

– Perform structural mapping to isolate origin point of failure

– Maintain strict empirical methodology; no inference beyond verified data

Cross-reference with known Deep City system architectures shows partial consistency with documented robotic classifications

Transmission complete.

EX2407pD-QW expedition Summary

The EX2407pD-QW expedition descended into Deep City expecting a functional system based on Ilghal data. Instead, we found a completely collapsed structure inside a massive cavern. No active systems, no continuity—only suspended ruins. The discrepancy suggests Ilghal data reflects an earlier state of Deep City, likely around 2060, when the city was still operational. The expedition’s first hypothesis: Ilghal is not reporting the present, but preserving the past.

MAP - CAVE - HUB - 01

Main Premise

Deep City is a megastructure beneath New York, designed as a self-sustaining robotic ecosystem after the fall of humanity. Its state is monitored through Ilghal, a system assumed to provide accurate structural and operational data across time.

Image Context

This image represents what the EX2407pD-QW expedition actually encountered upon descent (circa 2407 post-Awakening): a fully collapsed environment inside a megalithic cavern (3000m wide, 3000m deep, 1500m vertical). The city is no longer operational—only suspended remnants of cubic structures remain, disconnected and inert.

There is no active infrastructure, no systemic coherence, no functional network.

This contradicts all expectations.

Initial hypothesis: Deep City suffered a total systemic collapse long after the last valid Ilghal records.

Looking for feedback on:

environmental storytelling of collapse

sense of scale and abandonment

clarity of structural failure

Image Info

Rendered entirely in Blender (no post-processing). Original worldbuilding project.

UI overlays simulate expedition scan data.

MAP - CAVE - HUB - 02

Main Premise

Ilghal is not a passive archive, but an interpretative system. Its outputs may reflect outdated states depending on synchronization failure or systemic drift.

Image Context

This image represents what Ilghal data suggested before the expedition: a functional Deep City, with active hubs, structured access points, and stable infrastructure.

A living system.

However, the expedition found none of this.

This leads to the primary working hypothesis: Ilghal data corresponds to an earlier state of Deep City—likely around 2060 (pre-Awakening), when the system was still operational.

New implication: all expedition planning was based on obsolete data.

Feedback requested:

does the temporal mismatch come across clearly?

does Ilghal feel credible as a failing system?

how to better contrast “expected vs found”?

Image Info

Rendered in Blender, no post-processing.

Diagrammatic overlays represent Ilghal-derived structural models.

[Context Deep City Project]

Project Name

Deep City Project

EX2407pD-QW expedition Summary

The EX2407pD-QW expedition descended expecting a living world guided by Ilghal’s maps. Instead, we found a dead city—collapsed, fragmented, and silent. No functioning systems remain. The discrepancy suggests Ilghal reflects Deep City as it existed around 2060, not its current state. Our first hypothesis: Ilghal does not show reality, but memory—a preserved echo of a lost world.

IMAGE - 01

Main Premise

Deep City is a buried, ancient megastructure beneath New York—built not by magic, but by a lost technological order so advanced it now behaves like myth. Its systems, governed by Ilghal, blur the line between machine logic and something closer to prophecy.

Image Context

This image shows what the EX2407pD-QW expedition actually discovered: a colossal underground cavern (3000m x 3000m x 1500m) containing the remains of Deep City—silent, fragmented, and inert.

Instead of a functioning world, we found suspended ruins. Entire districts reduced to isolated structures hanging in the void, as if the city had been abandoned mid-existence.

No light, no flow, no life.

From a fantasy perspective, this reframes Deep City as a fallen civilization—its “machine core” now indistinguishable from a dead god or broken world-engine.

Feedback welcome on:

does this read as techno-ruin or mythic ruin?

environmental storytelling of a “dead system”

sense of scale and awe vs emptiness

Image Info

Rendered in Blender (no post-processing). Original worldbuilding project.

UI elements are diegetic scans from the expedition.

IMAGE - 02

Main Premise

Ilghal is not just a system—it behaves like an oracle. Its data does not simply describe reality, but interprets and preserves it… possibly across different moments in time.

Image Context

This image represents what Ilghal revealed before the descent: a complete, living Deep City—structured, active, almost harmonious. A world still functioning beneath the surface.

But none of it exists anymore.

The expedition’s first hypothesis reframes Ilghal as something closer to a “memory engine”: its maps reflect Deep City as it was around 2060, not as it is now.

In fantasy terms, Ilghal may be preserving a ghost-state of the city—a past reality layered over the present.

Feedback requested:

does Ilghal work as a techno-oracle / memory artifact?

clarity of “past world vs present ruin”

suggestions to push the mythic angle further

Image Info

Rendered in Blender, no post-processing.

Overlay diagrams represent Ilghal-derived “visions” of the city.

[ROB-COP :: command unit :: enforcement hierarchy apex]

Chief Rob of the city police force. Loyalty hardwired.

This character is built around a very simple idea:

a brutal, small, almost stupid-looking robot… that still feels like a real threat.

Key goals in the modeling:

Minimal shapes (mostly boxes + bevels)

Clean topology for easy reuse across variants

Strong silhouette over detail

Functional design (mobility > aesthetics)

It can walk, hover, and fly — but the core idea is that it shouldn’t look “advanced”… just effective.

Curious how far you think simplicity can go before it stops working.
