So this is an idea I've had that is inspired by actual spam calls I've gotten lmao. For the longest time I've gotten calls asking for a "Mr. Maxamillion", who is not me. After I got so many of these calls I joked and thought maybe Max had gone missing and they're trying to find him, that then lead into my idea for this game.
The game would be called "Missing Mr. Maxamillion" and it would play similar to Clue, expect you arnt going around collection evidence in each room. Instead you have Mr. Maxamillions phone that was left behind after he disappeared. As a private investigator your tasked to figure out, why, when, how, who/what had caused him to go missing.
To start off you'll sort through many messages, wether those are texts, emails, or voice, and try and see any outlying information. As you piece together more and more, some names might stand out, some phrases might be repeated, events could line up chronologically.
During the investigation you'd be able to call anyone on Max's contact list and ask them a few questions, you'll be able too see if their answers line up, maybe there alibi is too illogical, maybe they arnt who they claim they are. and the camera on the phone would be an option to check too, so maybe there was a photo taken just as Max disappeared and it shows a pink high heel on the ground, and you previously read that Sarah was going out to the club in the same night and her and her friends all wanted to wear matching pink outfits. y'know stuff like that where you piece it together using logic and process of elimination.
and at the very end of the round you'd be taken to a new screen with fill in the blank prompts where you wrote in what you think so the correct answer. and I think it would be a score system, like 0% to 100% of how direct you were. and depending on the game mode you'd only need a certain percent or above to pass, so maybe ways mode is 85% correct or above and hard more is 100% and no less. I also think as a joke achievements would be funny and there could be a way to get everything so ridiculously wrong that you somehow get a negative percent and unlock and achievement stating it's impressive how bad you are at your job.
You won't be put on any time limit (unless you'd like to) and once you think you have all the evidence, you can decide to close the case, send it off to the police and see if you were correct.
Each round will be random generated from a prewritten list of mysteries. Ranging from, homicide to accidental animal attacks. Allowing for lots of replayability. Also there would be rewards for a correct mystery, if solved correctly your unlock in game currency to buy a new phone case or a new detective outfit, maybe unlock a new location or a new person to track down. just some silly and fun cosmetics as a nice incentive.
and at the end of the mystery
So that's kinda how the game would play. It would be very contained into Max's phone, as that is the main theme and time for this game. It is similar to alot of other detective games but I feel it's got the right amount of simplicity and complexity to make it fun yet challenging.
I also think multiple game modes would be fun, like an easy mode with maybe 4 or 5 contacts so the list is small as to who the culprit could be. Then hard mode could be over 20 or 30 contacts, and you'd have to sort through all the emails and calls and texts to find a motive a matching name a weapon, whatever the mystery calls for. And then maybe a super hard mode could be a time limit with 50 contacts or smth.
Also most mysteries would be logical, like Max inherited a fortune and was killed off by his nephew or smth, but I think it would be really funny to have a few crazy ones too, like Max was abducted by aliens, or Big Foot found him and took him. Y'know some silly nonsense to keep it fresh.
But yeah that's my idea! If live if you'd let me know what you think of it!!
Thanks for reading!!!
