Feral kittens! But not for long, for they have been incarcerated and will learn to love humans, whether they like it or not.
A sex offender just showed up to my AlAnon group
I've been going to this Al Anon group for about a year. Al Anon is a side branch of Alcoholics Anonymous, it's for people who aren't alcoholics (mostly) but are in relationships with alcoholics or have been harmed by alcoholics.
I've mostly been tagging along with my friend and using it as group therapy, trying to deal with the trauma of being raised by an alcoholic mother and all of the drug addicted, violent men she let into the house when I was a child.
I missed a couple of meetings, and when I came back to the group, this guy Fred (60+ y/o) was already entrenched. Apparently the other group members already know him. It's a small town, and Fred's a prominent member of the AA and Christian community.
30+ years ago, Fred molested a little boy (between 5 and 7 years old) multiple times. He was caught when the boy spoke up 20 years after the molestation happened. He pled guilty. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison and had to register as a sex offender for life.
I went researching, I read Fred's pre-sentencing letter to the judge. Fred fully confessed. In the letter, Fred admitted that he targeted this little boy specifically, because that boy came from a household similar to my own growing up. Fred targeted him because he was vulnerable and nobody would believe, protect or defend him.
Fred went to prison, Fred served his time, Fred accepted responsibility, right?
Wrong.
These days, Fred and his family tell everyone that the little boy (now an adult) is lying. That he was coached by his mother. That Fred is completely innocent, and you can't really trust \*those\* kinda people when they target someone like innocent, rich Fred the business man.
I read the confession written in Fred's own words.
I feel sick. Even if they kick him out after I bring this up or I ever find another Al Anon group, I don't think I'll ever feel safe enough to actually speak.

I had the trap out to TNR stray cats, but then I saw this guy. A local-ish wildlife rescue has already agreed to take him and fix his wrist, I just need to actually get him in the trap and drive him down.
Don't worry, I am an experienced TNR/baby stealer. I have a trap, a plan and at least one home lined up for these miscreants.
