Talk to me about starting on 12.5mg

Hey all, thanks ahead of time.

I'm debating starting this med due to anxiety and occasional depressive symptoms. When starting buspirone and attempting to start bupropion (stopped that one), I had pretty high anxiety increases.

That being said, I am terrified of anxiety increases and can't afford this in my day-to-day sales job. Has anyone had success starting at 12.5mg for a few weeks before moving up or even staying at that dose? Not sure if this matters, but I am around 160lbs.

Anyone started this after being on buspirone?

Im debating starting this low dose around 12.5mg daily. Ive been on buspirone for a while with varying results. Does anyone have experience starting up sertraline while also being on busp? Would it likely decrease the side effects? (I can deal with most, but increased anxiety would be a deal breaker).

Recommendations on how to minimize adjustment phase?

Hey all, really weighing starting this to supplement my Buspirone. I’m terrified of the adjustment phase though, I can’t stand the panicky feeling that came with increasing my Buspirone dosage. Luckily this only lasted 3-5 days. I’ve read that sertraline can last 3-4 weeks.

Would starting at 12.5mg for a few weeks and then 25mf every other day for a week, and then 25mg everyday from there help minimize the affects?

If not, does anyone have tips to try and avoid the initial anxiety increase?

Thanks!

Theoretical Conundrum

Hello everyone, happy Monday!

If you’ve been following this topic for a long time, you probably have your own theory about what we’re dealing with here. ETs, IDs, advanced government craft, or something else entirely, and why the government appears to be slowly disclosing.

Personally, I believe the government is carefully curating its disclosure strategy and shaping the narrative in the way it wants the public to receive it.

That brings me to a theoretical question:

If you accept the premise that the government is slowly rolling out disclosure in order to get more scientific minds to take the subject seriously and help with reverse-engineering efforts, what do you make of the repeated hints from figures like Tom DeLonge and Lue Elizondo that whatever these things are may be inherently dangerous, and that we should approach them with caution? Clearly Tom was connected with some spooky people - thanks Jason Samosa. Check his youtube channel out if you haven't.

Wouldn’t there, theoretically, be some sort of coordinated effort to discourage or prevent people from actively engaging with or attempting to invoke these phenomena if they posed an existential threat?

I’m curious how others reconcile these two seemingly contradictory ideas: encouraging scientific inquiry and disclosure while simultaneously warning that the phenomenon itself may be dangerous.

YouTube Channels or podcast Reqs for 300 ish hours?

Hey all, first of all thanks ahead of time and second - I am aware of the google doc, I just would like to hear from you all directly!

Ive finished Al Vuelo, Cuentame, Chill Spanish. Ive started ECJ podcast and ALM, which are comprehendible depending on the episode. Some are tougher than other.

As far as video content, Ive been grinding Spanish boost but I'm afraid that I am too advanced for most of the videos and find myself watching the gameplay more so than listening to Martin at this point.

Do you guys have any good podcast reqs, YouTube channels, etc that are outside of DS? I still watch DS, but am looking to supplement with outside content.

Question on fins w/ Skim board

What's up everyone!

Ive been surfing for a while now with a skim style board and either a 1" or 1.5" fin. Watching the pros on youtube (Keen, Inloes, JB, etc) they seem to all ride finless, although a lot of their factory boards come with the 1" fins.

Is it normal to ride completely finless? I find it easier to shuv and initate spins without them obviously, but its harder to land tricks. I am debating going finless always but want to make sure I am not doing something completely stupid..... Lol.

Thanks ahead of time.

Please try Buspirone

Hey everyone. YMMV

Lifeling anxiety sufferer here. Not the type of anxiety that gives panic attacks, but the once that makes you feel tense and gives the globus sensation all the time. This led to avoiding social interactions and some depressive and self esteem issues at its worst. I am successful, workout daily, eat healthy, and like what I do, so there was no reason for this anxiety. Ive had it for as long as I can remember.

I had enough around two years ago and tried propranolol 60mg XR daily for a few years and it worked okay. Reduced the anxiety maybe 50%. I knew there had to be something better.

Fast forward to around 6 months ago, I switched to Buspirone from propranolol. The transition was hell. Constant panicky feelings from coming off prop and the transition to being on Buspirone was tough for a week or so. I almost gave up twice (make sure to avoid caffeine when titrating up Buspirone - I learned the hard way).

Once the Buspirone settles, it is like my anxiety switch is turned off. I can drink a of coffee and then give a speech in front of a room of people (I’m in sales) without a twinge of anxiety. Incredible stuff. There is definitely a “find-your-dose” type thing with busprione but Once I found it (45mg/day) I have not looked back For the most part. (Please avoid using Flonase or other steroids if you’re anxiety prone, but that is another story).

That being said, try Buspirone before you jump to SSRIs or anything with crazy side effects.

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk, and please ask any questions. I will be happy to answer them.

Day 9 and Very High Anxiety

Hey everyone,

I am on day 9 of 150XL and have had slight anxiety elevations day 7 and 8, but today was heavy. I am debating stopping. Initially it felt like mild adderall - happy, energetic, motivated. Unfortunately now I am tense, emotionally dull, no appetite, and fatigued. I can sleep 10 hours straight if I wanted.

Has anyone had similar experiences and then it get much better? I take buspirone and am diagnosed GAD, but this physical anxiety is getting to be too much.

Wellbutrin 150XL Early Side Effects

Hey all,

Im on day 8 of 150 XL.

The Good:

Increased sex drive

Better Focus

Calmness

Sleep is better than before wellbutrin

The Bad:

Feeling emotionally blunt

Slightly higher anxiety

Getting that involuntary throat tightening in high pressure (I work in sales) situations that makes it hard to speak and makes my voice hoarse.

I feel more reluctant to speak in sales Meetings. It’s like I’m super calm and just want to sit there and enjoy the dialogue. Weird.

What are all of your experiences with these (especially cons) over time? Do they improve?

Taking XL at night

Hey everyone, I come to you all begging for mercy.

Ive recently started taking 150XL for the first time - always at 530 AM. I have not been able to sleep until 2-3 am each night and I need 7-8 hours to function.

Should I stick it out? Switch to SR?

Has anyone switched to taking this at night and it fixed their insomnia? Has taking it at night made anyone’s sleep worse?

EDIT: Today is day 5 of starting the med.

EDIT 2: Literally the next night after I posted this, my sleep was incredible. 2 nights since this post and I am sleeping better than I have in a while. This is all tracked with my Garmin watch.

How do you guys avoid or factor in days like today when swing trading?

A lot of times I have a great setup and then we get a day like this when SPY dumps and it seems the algos dump everything. Tough to know when to hold out or cut losses on stocks I am swinging that get caught up in this.

Best Month & 200 Hours Update

Hola a todos.

Ive been doing DS on and off for 1.5 years and was recently invigorated from a trip to El Sal and Guatemala. Ive been cooking since 115 hours and should be at level 4 in 1.5 or two months. I hope to increase my daily listening with podcasts while I work, but it is hard to focus currently and listen at the same time.

Around 200 hours something clicked and I translate in my head way less, although it still happens. The last 30 ish hours have all been on Spanish Boost, Espanol Al Vuelo, and Spanish After Hours. I really don't know where my DS difficulty will be, but I plan on returning to it once I get bored with my current input methods.

Ask away if you have any questions!

Sun Tips

Hey everyone!

I am diagnosed UCTD with mild symptoms. My main symptoms are brain fog, fatigue, and achy joints. I’ve switched to the AIP diet and eliminated 99% of the flare ups day to day, luckily.

We frequently travel to the lake on the weekends and spend a few hours in the sun. We are a water sports family so it is hard to avoid. Ive noticed that over the past few years since this UCTD has affected me, that the next day after sun exposure I am VERY fatigued. There are no other symptoms at all - no rashes, achy joints, etc.

Besides the obvious “stay out of the sun,” does anyone have supplementation or different advice to avoid or reduce this? I am also not on HCQ. Could this help?

Thanks in advance!

For non-purists with higher hour counts:

Currently at 180 hours. What is the best way to supplement my DS journey? There seems to be a handful of words or phrases that I constantly hear and Google but forget the next day.

Is this normal or do you recommend I supplement?

Hello everyone.

Just crossed into level 3 (160 hours currently). I’m wanting to supercharge my hours with podcasts but am struggling to find engaging content at this level. Currently listening to:

Ceuntame

Chill Spanish

Any recommendations? I’m at a 35-37 difficulty on the DS videos.

Thanks!!!
