Can’t get this 11’ tire on the 86 350D rim.

Been at it for 2 days. These manual machines are garbage. Old ones come off no problem. First wall goes on good second wall will not spin on. I tried everything. Hands are bleeding. Unit is absolute trash.

This is the 3rd time I had to give up on this unit and end up using a professional machine.

Anyone have luck with these pieces of absolute garbage?

Street took a lightning strike few days back. Had some cooked out electronics in my detached garage.

Had some bad weather here in NY the other day and took a lightning strike to the street out front of my house.

Everything inside looked ok, utilities and electrical. It did not affect my house service at all but it seems like it found a pathway into my garage where I found a few cooked electronics that were not on surge protectors.

2/3 battery tenders blew out. Also had a strong smell of sulfur in the air for about 30 minutes after the strike.

Lucky it didn’t hit my house. My neighbor next door “approx 100ft” from the strike said he felt a slight shock and his service was interrupted for a split second.

Attached are photos of my battery tender “looks like it blew out the capacitor” which is what it’s intended to do in such an event?

I tried to capture the strike on 1/8sec slowdown on my CCTV but this is the only frame I got.

Have to say a prayer after this one. Cost me only 2 new chargers but man it makes you more aware how things can go to s**t in a blink of an eye.

Buyer from CA purchased my Yugo Mauser Bolt for sale on EBay. Can I legally ship due to AB 1263?

Buyer purchased it. I was not aware of this “CA nonsense law” until reading more into it.

I’m a private party not a dealer just selling spare parts. What should I have the buyer do or cancel the sale due to this technicality?

Best way to move a front sight slightly to the left on an old Yugo M24/47

Looks like my front sight on this Yugo is slightly off “to the right” when lining up with the rear sight.

Appears the sight was tinned on out of alignment. What’s the easiest way to re tin the sight on correctly. Apply heat and just move it over or will I have to remove it and tin the barrel with specific solder and flux?

What will I need. I have soldered plenty of copper plumbing pipes but I’m taking this is much different?

Dielectric union won’t budge.

Changing my hot water heater and this one union wouldn’t budge. Took me and my brother with 2 breaker bars and wouldn’t move.

How would you guys go forward putting the new one on? Just throw heat on the existing one and melt the plastic? Or try and unsweat the entire fitting off?

I hate these things.

Question pertaining to semi automatic rifle permit for a 1950s inoperable parts .22LR

My Uncle purchased a project/beat .22 1950s Mossberg Semi Auto today from a local gun shop.

He is a “retired law enforcement officer” not active and doesn’t have a semi automatic rifle permit “endorsement”. The background and everything checked out and he was able to take the parts gun as a restoration project.

But we are questioning if the shop owner thought he was “active LE”. Me and him are still not even sure of these new “semi automatic rifle laws” in NY and he is going to call the shop tomorrow to confirm if he can even legally take possession of it without this new restriction.

It’s a non firing rifle. Has no trigger and is missing pieces also has no serial number as many old .22s never had.

Owner might have thought he was active LE not retired. He is probably going to call and return it tomorrow. We wouldn’t want any post purchase burecraric issues. Any suggestions? Shop owner is a nice guy we have known him for years.

Garett Ace 250 feedback

Got this Garett Ace 250 for free from a family member recently. I know it’s not the greatest machine but any feedback on its performance?

So far I have been on about a dozen locations and all I seem to pull are modern clad coins. I think I’m just not going to the right places.

I’m dying to find the old silver coins. Is this thing capable? I live in Westchester NY.

Any dental providers in Westchester or surrounding areas take Emblem Adult Medicaid

Needing some dental work done “a re-root canal” and I’m looking for a clinic or office that takes Medicaid dental.

Anyone have experience or advice in this? Any names or locations?

I know it’s really hard to find providers due to the low payouts.

Anyone decent dentist in New York accept Emblem Adult Medicaid?

Lost my job due to major cutbacks now and having a stretch where I need some dental work done and desperately can’t find a provider that accepts Emblem Medicaid.

I’m sure the payouts are bad. Anyone have some experience seeing a good dentist in the lower NY area that accepts it?

Would finding an Endodontist in network be basically impossible?

2 weeks post filling and still ache after cold & hot lingering.

How long is a good timeframe to wait for post filling sensitivity and ache after cold/warm before going back to check?

I’m wondering if it’s also my filling bite height being a little high might be just enough to make the tooth hurt after chewing for a bit.

How many weeks should I wait? This was a rather large filling in a pre molar that had fallen out and was re-done promptly 15 days ago.

I don’t have any random throbbing or trouble sleeping. It’s only when consuming cold liquids or cold desert and hot soups/food.

Thought & input? Thanks fam!

Lookin to add a new breaker and an independent outlet for window AC unit.

Long story short my house is built in 1883 and needless to say although the wiring has been upgraded 50~ years ago it’s still difficult in the summer to use window units on the same zone without tripping the breaker.

I wanted to run an independent outlet from my panel out through the sill and into some conduit up to the second floor bedroom and then punch into a single outlet for my elderly Moms window AC unit.

Ideally I would have liked to run the wire in the house between the old studs but it almost seems easier to pull it outside next to an already existing “flood light” wire through the hole into some larger conduit and then add a conduit T and then go right back into the interior.

Attached are some photos. My panel doesn’t have any more room for an additional breaker addition. Should I add a tandem? How many Amps would be sufficient? It’s a standard window 120V AC.

Also I have this existing wire “photo attached” that is ran “dead” from my panel back to the general area id have feed out. It looks heavy gauge like maybe an older 220 line that someone left dead because an appliance was removed.

Could it be used for the 110v hookup? Maybe into a junction box and then romex from there on out. Or would I have to remove it and just add new romex right to the panel?

Any insight would be great. Here are a few photos of my project to give a visual.

10 day post filling and having sensitivity to cold & warm everything.

Had a pre molar filling done 10 days ago after the previous one had came loose. I was able to get in quick only 2 days.

Dentist replaced filling and off I went. Things were good first 3 days. Felt it was maybe getting better. Well starting around day 7 I had a pretty noticeable ache for 30mins to 1hr after eating or drinking anything cold. Today is day 10 and I had some warm soup. I felt it moderately ache for 30 mins after.

It’s to the point now I’m afraid to eat or drink anything. I’m trying to wait and hold out and see what happens but at what point should I deem something is wrong?

And will this ultimately lead to another root canal? This will be my third in the last year. And one failed and I lost a molar.

Is there any hope or should it just be root canaled? Should I give it more time or just be seen?

1 week post filling and still pain when chewing & cold.

Had a filling fall out on a pre molar and got in to see the dentist 2 days later “last Thursday”.

She did the filling and sent me on my way. Things were going ok until about 2 days ago. I started feeling some slight pain when eating like when food would line up with the filling perfectly and then a dull pain for about 30 mins afterwards.

Also I ate some ice cream last night and my tooth had a dull throb afterwards that lingered for hours until I took an Advil to sleep.

How long can this take and should I be worried? Tomorrow will be 1 week and is it normal to have discomfort and lingering soreness at this stage.

I’m trying hard to just wait it out. Any input?

Pre Molar Filling Pain 1 week post apointment

Had a pre molar filling come out last week that was in for about 2 years. I got in 2 days after it came out. Had a new filling put in.

I noticed that initially days 1-3 it was painful to chew over it “normal I read” like a quick zap when chewing over the filling area. Then I started getting this lingering pain after eating or drinking anything cold.

Tonight day 7 I had a little ice cream at about 9pm. Went to bed at 11pm and my tooth was still kind of throbbing slightly. It slowly dissipates but it hangs around sometimes for 1-3hrs after having even a cold glass of water.

Took a Tylenol tonight first night so far I thought I needed one. Could the nerve be damaged?

I get it being sensitive but it’s a week already. It kinda has this dull pain after anything remotely cold for like 1-3hrs.

Suggestions?

Touro Dental School Implants?

I’m needed a first molar implant done after an extraction with bone graft done in late January.

I do have Anthem Dental Insurance and to my knowledge they cover little no implant procedure.

Would Touro Dental School perform the implant at a reduced price? What’s the process?

Any Putnam & Orange County Corrections Officers here?

Looking into both agencies as a possible option. I have 10 years of LE experience as a Peace Officer for NYS OMH.

Anyone have insight on forced overtime for these departments? Also do they work 8s or 12s.

Any feedback would be great. Thank you all.

DOT entry level positions feedback?

Contemplating getting back into NYS CS. I previously worked at NYS OMH for 10 years but stepped away to pursue a different path.

Needless to say I’m realizing that I should pickup where I left off in January so I can have some type of pension in the end.

How is DOT I see them constantly hiring. I don’t have a CDL only a Class C. I’d imagine the overtime can be brutal. Which is what I’m afraid of coming from an agency like OMH where they work you like a human slave.

Any feedback? Is it only in the winter the forced shifts? How are the summer months? I’d expect to get paid pretty poor but I think I can start at job rate being I have 10 years prior service at a higher pay grade and I will be reinstated.

I don’t mind being outdoors or hard work as long as I’m not exploited for forced labor 80hrs a week like OMH.

Insight?
