5 sessions of professional laser and my hair is growing back, should I switch to a home IPL device?

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has had a similar experience with laser hair removal.

I did 5 full-body laser sessions using the Triton by InMode machine. My skin is light and my hair is dark brown/black (Mediterranean), so I thought I would be a pretty good candidate for laser.

Between my sessions, I definitely noticed some reduction and slower growth, so I thought it was working. But I finished my last session about 2 months ago, and now a lot of my hair is growing back really fast. In some areas it honestly feels like I never had laser at all.

What worries me even more is that some areas seem worse than before, especially my thighs. Before laser, my thigh hair was relatively thin/fine, but now some of it seems to be growing back darker, thicker, and more noticeable. Now I literally have to shave every 1 or 2 days.

The clinic recommended doing more sessions, but after paying for 5 sessions and seeing this much regrowth, I’m worried about spending even more money and ending up with the same result.

I’ve been considering buying a home laser/IPL device (like Braun or Philips) and using it consistently for touch-ups/maintenance instead. Has anyone had a similar experience and gotten better results with a home device?

Would you recommend continuing professional laser, trying a home IPL device, switching clinics/machines, or doing something else?

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who had hair come back thicker after laser and what ended up working for you.

Took off my hijab after 13 years, but worried about disappointing my family

Took off my hijab after 13 years, but I’m scared of my family and community's reaction when I go back home

I've been wearing hijab for around 13 years, basically since I was a child. I never really felt like it was something I personally chose, and for a very long time I've wanted to take it off.

I recently got married and moved from one European country to another to live with my husband. After moving, I finally took my hijab off. Honestly, I feel so much happier and more confident. I feel like myself, and after experiencing life without it, the thought of putting it back on feels really difficult.

The problem is that I have to temporarily go back to my home country soon and stay with my family while I finish university. I don't want to start wearing hijab again just because I'm back home. I also want to eventually post normally on social media without carrying a hijab with me to put on for pictures im posting. I'm tired of feeling like I'm living two different identities.

My mom already knows. She told me she's sad about it, but she accepts that I'm an adult and it's my decision. She said she would still love and treat me exactly the same, and she knows I've never really liked wearing hijab.

But my dad is my biggest worry. He's religious, and I know this will probably make him very sad and angry. Though he's currently in the Middle East for business and isn't with the rest of the family, and we don't know exactly when he'll be back yet.

Before I got married, he specifically told me not to take off my hijab because my husband's family isn't very religious, so I think he already suspected this might happen. Before I moved out, I also asked him why I was made to wear hijab so young. He said he doesn't remember "forcing" me and saw it as advising me as a parent. He also told me that now that I'm an adult, I can make my own choices.

I'm not afraid that he'll physically stop me or that I'm in danger. I'm married and living my own life. I'm more afraid of hurting him and changing how he sees me.

I'm also worried about my brothers. They're genuinely kind and we have a good relationship, but I'm scared they'll be disappointed or even ashamed of me and start seeing me differently.

I also have a younger sister who wears hijab. I'm worried my family might think that me taking mine off could influence her and blame me if she ever starts questioning her own decision. Then there's the community aspect...its a small town and people talk, and I'm worried about them gossiping or my family feeling embarrassed because of me.

At the same time, I keep wondering: how long am I supposed to live according to how everyone else might react?

I love my family and don't want to hurt or embarrass them, but I also don't want to put hijab back on and continue living two different versions of myself just to keep everyone else comfortable. And I really don't want them thinking my husband or his family influenced me, because they didn't. I've felt this way for years.

For anyone who has taken off hijab in a religious/conservative family, how did you handle telling them and dealing with their disappointment? Did things eventually get better?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through something similar.

Brides who did outdoor wedding photos before the ceremony — did your dress get really dirty?

Hi everyone,

I hope this is the right place for me to post this. I'm getting married soon and I'm starting to worry about my photoshoot plans.

My dress is a pure white satin ballgown with a fairly long train, and I've already booked and paid for an outdoor photoshoot at a park before my ceremony, so cancelling isn't really an option. The park has grass, stone pathways, and some exposed soil, and I'm worried my dress could get noticeably dirty before I even walk into my wedding.

I'll have a friend with me who will be helping with the dress and carrying the train whenever possible. I'm even considering hiring someone specifically to help manage the dress throughout the photoshoot to keep it off the ground between shots.

For brides who did outdoor photos before the ceremony:

How dirty did your dress actually get?

Was the dirt visible during the ceremony or mostly underneath?

Did having someone carry the train make a big difference?

Did your photographer have tricks to keep the dress clean?

Part of me is wondering if I should buy a cheaper white dress just for the park photos and then change into my actual wedding dress before the ceremony. The downside is that I'd have to find somewhere and somehow make time to change dresses on an already busy wedding day.

Am I overthinking this, or is a second dress actually the safer option? I'd love to hear what others have experienced, especially with white satin gowns and long trains

[Routine Help] pre-wedding dry skin recommendations?

Hello,

I am 22 years old and I have a dry skin (nose can get a bit oily) and my wedding is coming up soon....

My makeup artist highly recommended i get an intense hydrafacia done and have a good routine before the wedding so my makeup looks smooth and applies nicely. However ive been hearing lots of things about hydrafacial not bring as effective and not worth the money so I was wondering if there are any other treatments you guys can recommend for a woman my age 😊

Help me find the most pigmented glowy highlighter

My wedding is coming up and I want a highlighter that can be seen from far!! My wedding will be dramatic and I want a highlighter that is very pigmented. For reference I have a dry fair skin and I want the highlighter to give me glass glow.

I tried getting the girlcult highlighter (a Chinese brand) and it is very glowy but has a blue reflection which i didn't like

I have the benefit glow la la highlighter which is for daily use but I think its too natural looking for what I want for my wedding
