Is this a good deal?

Is this a good deal?

It’s a CPO 2023 Ascent Touring with 30K miles. I live in a HCOL area with limited Ascents. Been getting offers like 35K on Ascents of lower trims with more miles so I felt like this was good, and planning to pick up the car today.

Originally they offered over 35K, but I countered at 34,500 OTD and they said yes.

2023 CPO Pilot EX-L

I've been shopping around and test drove a 2024 Pilot EX-L, and enjoyed it mainly for the cabin feel.
I have been negotiating with a nearby dealer on a CPO 2023 Pilot EX-L 7 Passenger with 28,090 miles. He gave me an OTD price of 39,000 plus my tag transfer which will be $80-$120.

Is this a good deal? I'm asking for the printed out pencil offer to make sure I have this in writing before I settle but wanted to ask some Honda Pilot enthusiasts what they thought.

TY!

2023 or 2024 Ascent?

Which model year/trim would you consider to be a better buy? Ascent inventory is limited in my area and I can't afford to buy new so I'm looking at CPO.

  1. CPO 2024 SubaruAscent Onyx Edition 7-Passenger with 38,461 miles. Online Dealer Price: $32,841 with doc fee, electron fee, and private tag.

2: CPO 2023 SubaruAscent Onyx Edition 7-Passenger - *Was listed as an Onyx Limited yesterday and now it just says Onyx, which raises a brow. If this is an Onyx Limited, I'm interested. It has 39,524 miles for $32,841 online, including doc fee, electronic fee, and private tag.

I'm wanting to be at 35K OTD. I test drove an Onyx Limited and appreciated the 360 camera, but that car had a lot of cosmetic dings inside and out, so that specific car was a not for us.

The miles are making me iffy on these. I'm comfortable purchasing CPO cars with 33K or less miles. These Ascents are more lived in. And its my understanding that I'm out the 3year/36K mile bumper to bumper warranty, which is a bummer about the miles.

Are these good contenders? Or should I hold out for something better to maybe come along with no guarantee.

Ivory Seats

Anyone have kids and a dog with their ivory seats? How are they holding up?
I’m interested in a Subaru Ascent Limited, it’s a CPO with low mileage and priced well. The only thing keeping me from jumping in a sale are the ivory seats.
I have a 4 year old and a golden retriever so I’m worried about having an interior that isn’t black

Advice on OTD

EDIT: Thanks everyone for the opinions. I'm no longer seeing this 2023 Ascent Onyx with 19K as the dealer was yanking my chain about the OTD price and just being overall shady.
I'm actually going to go see a CPO 2023 Ascent Limited tomorrow with 23K miles at a dealership in town. It checks all the boxes including OTD price in the possible 34K range, if they can actually honor that, just verbal over the phone on that now. I just don't like that the interior color is ivory vs gray or black. I have a kid and a dog, and that feels very delicate. But the limited trim looks nice and I like the low mileage. If the interior color were dark, I'd be more sold on walking away with the car tomorrow. But that interior color worries me...

Does this sound like a decent deal?

TY ALL!

----
Hi all, I'm new to Subaru but like the features of the Ascent.
I test drove one today and enjoyed it.

I'm seeing a CPO 2023 Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition with 19K miles and the sales person assured me they could meet me at a $35K OTD price if I came in this weekend, it at a dealership an hour away so I'm planning to go there in a couple of days.
The car I test drove was the same model/trim/year but with 39K miles. Since the 19K mile car has considerably less mileage, I'm feeling like jumping into that if the sales person can really honor their OTD price. Does this sound like a good deal? I live in a HCOL area.

Additionally, please tell me what you love about your Ascents and what you don't love. For those of you with kids and a large dog, how comfortably do you fit? We are a family of three, one small child, one large dog.
We are planning to fit my child in their forward facing convertible car sear in one of the captain seats, and reserving the third row for our dog. If we have another baby they can hopefully sit rear facing in the other captain seat.
It looked like that could work from what we saw today, but wanted to confirm with families who are making it work currently. We are TALL but my husband comfortablly sat in the middle captain seats, and did fit in the third row although his knees were a bit squished. However, we plan to keep the third row reserved for our dog and/or other kids.

I appreciate all answers and thank you!

Advice: Is This OTD Price Good?

Currently seeking advice if this OTD price I'm being presented with is good:

2023 CPO Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition 7-Passenger with 39,524 miles. OTD price is $35,000. I live in a HCOL area.
Very strongly considering this, as originally I was looking at CPO Honda Pilots but I'm getting offers of 42K for those. This Ascent is more affordable for me but want to make sure I'm getting a good deal.

Than you in advance!

Miss Patty’s Yorkie

Rewatching GG for the 101th time and just now it occurred to me that Miss Patty is holding a Yorkie dog in S1 E9. Then we never see or hear about the dog ever again.

I found that funny and thought I’d share.

Season 14 Ep 8: Coming Home

I'm a first time watcher trying to get through the show. LOVED it the first several seasons but I'm really forcing myself to finish it up.

I'm currently on the episode where Luka comes back from Croatia. I had to pause it for now. This current storyline for Abby just really pisses me off and I need to vent about it. I'm not an Abby fan or an Abby apologist, but I have been feeling sorry for her since this season started.

Luka leaves for what seems like months maybe? I had to look up how long he was gone and my Google search say approx 6 months! Yes, I know his dad is critically sick, but he also has a baby. 6 months is half of Joe's lifetime at this point. Joe is barely a year old? Maybe closing on a year and a half at most. So he leaves his wife and baby for 6 MONTHS? I'm sorry, but that's not okay in my opinion. I know his dad was sick, but that's insane. And he just leaves his dad over there anyway to come?? What if his dad ends up dying while he is gone. What was the point of being gone for this long then? Wouldn't it have been more logical to wait a few months, checking in on his condition with the brother, and then getting on a flight as things started to progress badly? So he could be there to say goodbye to his dad before he passed? Assuming he passes away, I don't know.

I know for a fact my mom would insist on me going home to be with my baby if she were sick. Will it be hard? Ofc. But those are unfortunate sacrifices you make when you have young children. I'm a parent, and I could never be away from my baby for that long. I know military parents do that, but Luka is not in the military. And it feels more logical to go to Croatia further down his dad's medical treatment for maybe 1 month, not from the jump for 6 months. Esp since he has a brother there to help. Yes, I know Goran's contract was up. I'm just talking about the storyline, and I feel like the writer's could have done better.

Joe's accident is understandably hard for Abby and while I don't have an addiction, I can see why that is a stressor for her. She's basically been, what feels like, a single mom for 6 months. Being a parent is hard work as it is when you're partner is there to help. And she works a stressful job. This is understandably shitty and makes me more annoyed at Luka's 6 month absence. How can he leave his job for that long too?? Nothing makes sense.

Then her getting black out drunk and waking up in Moretti's bed really pissed me off. She was visibly drunk at the bar. He obv could tell she was drunk. He asked if her husband was away and ordered her more drinks... This feels less like Abby willingly cheating and more like Moretti taking advantage of her. He knew what he was doing and it's slimy.
Unrelated but I also hated how everyone just left her there drunk and alone. Neela asks here, "Are you driving?" as she is leaving and even if Abby wasn't, it's weird to leave your drunk friend alone at a bar for her to then safely get home on her own. Should she have listened to Pratt when he said, "Get in a cab and go home." Yes, but what drunk person is of sound mind and reasoning? One of her friends *cough* Neela should have said, "alright, lets go and get you home."

I'm annoyed. And I'm sure the fallout will be "SHE CHEATED, SHE'S AWFUL" but this is a weird gray area where I think she was taken advantage of. I've kind of disliked Abby for most of the show. But now I'm mad for her.

End of rant.

EDIT: Just saw that Luka brought his brother home with him after being gone for 6 months??? Wow. After 6 months doesn't he need quality time with his wife and kid? Also who is looking after their father???

Help: Family SUV

Need help deciding on which car I should buy. We are a family of 3, with a small child. We are TALL, so we need room for a forward facing car seat. The hope is to have 1 more child but who knows. We need the option to be able to fit a rear facing carseat if needed. We also have a large dog over 65 lbs.
This will mostly be a car to drive around town, school pickup, appointments, and the occasional beach or park trip with our dog and child. However, we would obviously would like the cargo space option to be able to roadtrip with our child/future children and our dog.
We currently have a Mazda CX-5 and it works but the rear facing carseat was VERY tough, as I said we are both tall. Our child is also very tall for his age.

I am mostly narrowing down between a Honda Pilot or a Toyota Highlander. I would buy CPO, looking to keep price at or under 35K, so looking at 2024 models mostly right now. Not looking to buy luxury models.
Which of the two sounds like a better option for our family? I first considered a Subaru Ascent but then kept reading that it was the worst car in the Subaru lineup?? Due to some issues during one model year, people seem to be so on the fence with Ascents, but it checked a few boxes for us with a good price point. Also considered the Outback but worried that the cabin/cargo space would be tight for us, when going out with our dog and possible stroller situation. I'm open to other make/model suggestions but feel that the Pilot or Highlander are pretty good options that hold their value. The only thing I don't love about them is the lack of ceiling AC vents. 🥴

And to those that will say, just buy a minivan, yes I do love a minivan but with the possibility of us only sticking with one child, a minivan seems like more car than we need.

Bonus opinions that I'm open to: For families that are in a similar boat and have one or the other why did you choose a Pilot or Highlander? What do you love? what do you hate?

TY!

Season 12

I’m a first time watcher and on season 12 episode 4. I’m having a hard time continuing the show. All the OG characters are gone, except Susan and weaver but they are barely in the show on a regular basis. Carter left and I’m not that compelled by the newer cast members. Mark and Benton were my fav characters and it hasn’t been the same since they left the show. But now that Carter is gone it really feels off.

Please tell me it somehow gets better? I’m going to try and see it through but it feels tough cause the storylines just aren’t hitting it for me right now.

For Those of You w/ Calm Goldens

Were they calm as puppies too? Or when did they start to calm?
Our golden just turned 6 months and the biting stopped around 5 months. He listens (most of the time) and is a generally great and calm puppy.
He was never a destructive puppy and still isn’t. I’m wondering if or when he will enter a true Raptor stage or if we just got lucky?

We did have a time when walking him was a NIGHTMARE. Pulling, jumping, biting leash. But working with a trainer has nipped that and he is great on the leash now. He works with a trainer once a week, goes to day care once a week, gets two good walks in a day, and enrichment activities in between naps during the day. He LOVES to nap.

We live in a very hot climate and he doesn’t enjoy being outside during the day, I don’t blame him.
Is our boy actually a calm sweet mush? Or are the crazies still yet to come?

Note: his breeder matched him to us because of his calm temperament. She temperament tested the pups and matched them to each family. She said she matched the most biddable dog for us because of us having a small child. I’m starting to think her matching was VERY good.

Edit: typo
