I was listening to a radio interview The Avalanches did after the release of Since I Left You and they played the song Sorry Louie by Eazy-E. I noticed the Close To You choir sample in the background of the song so I looked it up on WhoSampled. Turns out, he sampled The Payback by James Brown. About 5 seconds into the track, you can hear a single female singer. I was surprised because she was singing an octave higher than it sounded when sampled but it is the right sample. It reminds me of the undiscovered Close To You siren sample which is also sampled in North West Three by Fatboy Slim. However no one has discovered it there either.

So this is very weird. I released an album called Comets in 2024. And on the 5th song which is called EO, I sampled Shadows From Nowhere by Blue Gas, the exact same song in the new Avalanches track! Honestly, I find it funny that I got to this sample before they did lol
