Meat Prices at Walmart
What used to be a $5–6/lb cut is now pushing $8–9/lb. Even the clearance price feels prohibitively too high to purchase. Walmart has priced me out of the meat market.

As someone born in the 1980s and having experienced my formative years in the 1990s, Willie Nelson has always been a prominent figure in my life. However, I never fully understood the context of his life and early works that contributed to his pop culture acclaim. "The Willie Nelson Graphic History" by T.J. Kirsch provides a fascinating overview of his life, influence, and personal experiences, offering the context and depth needed to appreciate Nelson's legacy.
A couple of quick thoughts:
I was surprised to learn about the numerous relationships and children that Nelson has had throughout his life. Additionally, I felt compelled to explore all of the songs and collaborations mentioned in the book, as they showcase the incredible diversity of his work.
Regarding the art style and flow, I appreciated both aspects. The book is logical and cleanly presented. If you are a fan of autobiographical graphic novels, this is a great choice.
My only caution is that the book feels more narrative-driven than dialogue-driven, which is common in many graphic novels. It presents a third-person perspective on Nelson's life rather than featuring any first-person dialogue. This approach works well for the book's purpose.
I run a free Brick Build event, where homeschooled kids are encouraged to build models at home and bring them to showcase for everyone to admire. Last year I used AI and did not like the outcome for a sticker give away. I would love to feature real artistry. Below are past stickers as a reference. My only ask is the name of the event and the current year. I would be happy to mail the finished product back to the artist as well.
These deer graze in the evening on the NW side of town.
Strange to think they were left unopened and then discarded. I think since the 1980s?
My wife sends me food that no one wants. What the heck is it?
