A statement from Dan Campbell in the press conference after the Lions lost the NFC Championship Game against the 49ers despite holding a 17 point lead at one point. And while theoretically they could still win a title win this core, all signs are pointing to his words being true.

This got me thinking, what are some other examples of that but for other teams? Where they really only had 1 or 2 chances at a super bowl, blew it, and then couldn't even get close to making it back?

Been a thing for about five years so I figured it’s been around enough for us to talk about it. Obviously not as prestigious as the Finals MVP award but it has to mean something.

Heartbreak, it’s par for the course when it comes to sports. And since it’s the offseason, it’s time for all of us to be honest with each other and let out some sadness and depression.

For my team, it’s the 94 Finals. The closest they ever got to winning it all with Patrick Ewing. In a year that Jordan was out playing baseball, the East was wide open for the taking and the Knicks emerged victorious. But unfortunately they ran into another all time great in Hakeem Olajuwon.

A couple that spring to mind for me are the Christmas game vs Cleveland, the Rockets comeback and the Celtics game where Josh went clutch at the end.

I don’t wanna see any of y’all celebrating until the clock hits zero and it says Knicks win. Nothing about 3-0, nothing about a Finals appearance.
