The Antishipclub subreddit updated their rules this morning (or the story of how I could have been mass-bullied).

So I assume that most of you saw that post yesterday about the trans person who was banned from the Antishipclub subreddit.

For those who didn't, a person from here made a comment in the Antishipclub and got banned, and the owner of the Antishipclub made a transphobic-sounding remark to them.

When I saw that, I went to the Antishipclub subreddit and asked the owner under a post if they were transphobic, to what they answered that they were not cis themselves and that they were just angry that another trans person was "helping make trans people look like pedos" but that they worded their comment wrong and regretted it.

I then took a screenshot of their message, hid the username and profile picture, and posted the screenshot under the banned person's post to try and rectify the misunderstanding, and I thought that it would be the end of it.

But the thing is, a couple hours after, someone answered to the owner's comment with a screenshot of MY comment that I had made in the ProshipHub subreddit with MY name and picture EXPOSED and uncensored.

I panicked and told them that I was afraid for my safety now that they had exposed my name in an Anti subreddit, but my comment was blocked by Reddit. After multiple tries I ended up DMing the owner of the Antishipclub subreddit and told them about me not feeling safe with my name being exposed like that for everyone to see that I was a Proshiper.

This morning they responded to me, told me that they deleted the Anti's message with my name in it and that they would add a new rule asking for every poster to censor names every time they post a screenshot (and I checked, they did do it). Now I obviously got banned from the Antishipclub subreddit after that whole thing, but at least now people from that sub will not be able to spread our names, at least not there.

TLDR : Someone posted my name in the Antishipclub subreddit, I messaged the owner and the subreddit now has the rule that people's names in screenshots must be censored.

EDIT : Please read the comment that I made under my post starting with "IMPORTANT" for clarifications and precision.

The short was never about Verosika, we were told it was not, and all the people insulting the VA and the staff who worked on this short need to calm down because you're proving the Haters right.

It's not her horns, it's not her tail, and Eric Schwartz TOLD us it wasn't her.

Was the preview slightly misleading ? Yes it was. Do people want a Verosika short ? Yes we do.

But when you take 2 seconds to look at the preview closer it's clear that it's not Verosika, and as I said we were TOLD it wasn't her. You raised your own expectations too high and you ended up creating your own disappointment.

Look, I like her character too and I'm slightly disappointed that we didn't get a short of her as well, but her time will come, we still have a lot of time before season 3.

In the meantime everyone needs to chill, you are all free to be sad and disappointed and to post about it of course, but turning against the VA and the staff who worked hard on this short and insult them is not the solution.

We all dislike how the Haters are degrading us, harassing some of us and try their best to make our reputation awful, we shouldn't prove them right. We have to be better.

The haters and the "boy who cried wolf" situation they put themselves in.

So I've been thinking, and I realized that sadly the haters have created a "boy who cried wolf" situation. Because their accusations are always so big and disproportionate, so recurrent almost always without sources, and almost always debunked, that now we logically have every right to assume from the get go that they are lying about whatever they are saying.

I truly think it's sad, because accusing Viv of committing every crime ever created repeatedly now means that if someone comes forward with a REAL thing to say, nobody but the haters will believe them or take them seriously.

I want to say that I am not accusing Viv of anything, I would myself be part of the people who no longer believe anything I hear as soon as Viv's name is mentioned, but I still think that it's sad to think that potential victims could be ignored because of Viv's mass bullying committed by haters.

Edit : I might have exaggerated my words and I will edit my post to add this. I will always fact-check accusations against Viv because victims need to be believed, but my first reaction will sadly always be to doubt their words.

I made a fatal mistake, I went on Twitter.

I only have a twitter account so I can look at some arts that the artists I follow can't post on Instagram, but outside of that I never look at Twitter.

But today I saw in Reddit a screenshot of the tweet for Mother's Day by the Helluva Boss official account and I just... I just couldn't help myself. I clicked on Twitter and I went on my for you page that was almost exclusively about Hazbin and Helluva.

I stayed in there for about 5 minutes, I read tweets and comments, and now... Now I feel dirty, nauseous, my heart is beating fast and I feel my brain leaking out of my nose... I think it's over for me guys, I don't know if I will survive the night...

It was a pleasure knowing you all, and may my fate be a warning to all of you. Stay off Twitter...

(Kind of a joke post, but not 100%)

About mischaracterization in fanfics.

Honestly I may be in the minority here, but I don't mind mischaracterization in fanfics.

I mean it depends on how it's written, but on fanfics like "From the Sidelines" where all characters aren't exactly 100% like they are in the manga/anime, I don't mind at all because it's beautifully written and because Katsuki still has his issues with performance and Izuku still has his journey of learning how to trust himself fully.

So yeah I guess I don't mind mischaracterization as long as the characters still have at least one of their Canon traits or at least one Canon element of their relationship (using "relationship" as the broadest definition).

Hi, new here and kinda... Lost ?

So I'm Aromantic, it's a spectrum of people feeling little to no romantic attraction and I'm on the "no" part of it (I dated before and I'm 100% sure).

But here I am, shipping myself with fictional characters.

I mean I know I'm still Aromantic and I have never felt any romantic feelings towards anyone (real or fictional), but I sometimes feel like a mix of protection/admiration/need to protect some characters. I don't think it's romantic attraction but I don't know how to describe it.

Anyone else that understand what I mean or who is in the same situation ?

I'm not going to talk about the video and its content in my post, I think that everything that could be said has been said and I don't see in what way my opinion about the video could add anything more at this point.

BUT I am very mad at the twitter account because I genuinely think that they do not care about POC's well-being at all.

If they did care then they would have made a tweet saying something like "to all the POCs watching the show, I want you to be aware that this video exist and that what that person who is working on the show did was offensive, so please take that into account when you chose to support him and his work". But no, they did not do that.

What they did is post that video that has 0 to do with Viv on their Viv's hating account with the caption "as this is a Vivziepop archive, not a Brandon Rogers archive, we of course will not be featuring the time Brandon Rogers did blackface, as seen here" which is 100% malicious.

Their intentions were NOT to defend us or to show care for us or our struggles. Their intentions were to use us to create drama towards Brandon and to have it affect Viv as well. And this is not okay. POCs are not a tool to use in your hate of someone, we have enough on our plate already without having our struggles weaponized for twitter-clout.

Just because a ship isn't canon doesn't mean that people will or should stop shipping it.

So please, when someone talk about a ship they like in a post or in a comment section, stop commenting "not canon btw" or "uhm sorry but it's not canon" or even "wrap it up bro they're not together".

Shipping Culture has never been, is not and will never be about respecting the Canon exactly. Shipping is meant for fun, and people who ship something will never stop shipping it just because it's not Canon, it has never worked like that ever.

KamiJirou shippers, MomoJirou shippers, TodoDeku shippers, BakuDeku shippers, TogaChako shippers, KariMina shippers, EraserMic shippers... People will not abandon the ships that they loved and cared for during years just because the characters are not in a canon relationship.

And yes, a big part of Shipping Culture and Fanfic Culture is also to over-analyze, over-interpret and twisting the Canon so it fits the ships and the head-canons, it has always been like that and it won't change, Shipping is again made for fun and where is the fun in only taking what's Canon for Shipping material ? Imagination is fun, making theories is fun, that's what it's all about.

So again please, if you see a post or a comment talking positively about a non-canon ship or even a ship you don't like, please try to stay civil and respectful and don't insult/hate/mock them. We should always want to be kind to each other, and not everything needs to be said especially if it's mean.

Has it ever happen to you ?

You're having a (sometimes constructive) debate with someone, but then at one point your arguments make them realize that they are in the wrong and suddenly they do a 180° and start to only comment things like "bro it's not that deep" or "I wish I had time to worry about things like this" or "why are yo being so defensive anyway"...

They could just admit that they were wrong, it's not easy to do but they could. They could also delete their comments or just stop responding, but instead they do that. Why ?
