Deathwing Knight

Deathwing Knights were some of the first things I painted. In attempt to finish the first box I bought, the Inner Circle set, I tried to come back and see if I'd improved at all.

Happy with how these looking now but hopefully managed to keep the feel and look of the original ones i painted.

Only the lion left to do from the box now, though still not a clue how to tackle him.

Still trying to work out how to photograph the full squad at once.

Karlby top on E7 Pro biased forward

I've just received my E7 pro but not quite ready to build.

I think it should be a common set up but can't find answer.

I want to install a 63.6cm deep ikea karlby worktop. The min and max depths of the e7 pro seem to be 60cm to 80 cm. The leg/foot depth looks to be 68cm a few cm deeper than worktop. Ideally I'd like the front of the feet to be inline/flush with the front of the desk worktop not sticking out. Is this possible? i.e. does the worktop need to be centered over the legs or can I bias it forward slightly?

I'm hoping the top bracket to attach to.desk.are less than 60 cm and the C shape of the Pro legs will shift the center of gravity back as well to offset the desk. I think it only needs yo come forward a few cm.

Also planning on have two ikea alex drawers under each end hence wanting the legs not yo stick out past those.

I'd love to see anyone who has done similar. Thank you.

Standing desk collision detection issues with alex drawers.

I would like to put a stsnding desk under the classic ikea hack alex drawers with karlby counter. The desk legs would fit inside the alex drawers and ideally the over hang would just rest on the drawers 90% of the time until I needed standing.

This seemed to make sense until I learned about collision detection and reversing. I fully understand the reason but I suspect couldn't lower the desk so the counter top rested on the drawers? It would get close and then raise? This seems to be the case for most models?

I can't seem to find a manual way to do it. What are peoples thoughts on this? Any one have experience with it?

Standing desk raising on units either side risk or issue with collision detection

Mordenise small workspace to record work instruction videos

I have a box room that serves as a home office. Its not really set up well and the main issue is location of plug sockets. They are about 60cm high and in strange locations (red X on plot). I'd like them hidden by desks but suspect that will require L-shaped to hide wires.

I need to recored some instructions videos for work and would like something a bit more sleek and modern. Dark wood and dark wall and getting rid of the old writing desk. I'm thinking wooden slats behind the desk (pretty standard stuff now i know).

The missing corner in the box room makes things awkward. I need to do face to camera and suspect desk behind for that is best. have no clue how to arrange desks L-shaped or even u shaped.

I need lots of storage and ideally a standing desk. Was considering the ikea Alex desk hack with a walnut top on a standing frame but not sure how you do that with the L-shaped needed to hid plugs.

Or do I just chase the wall and move the plugs and stick with a straight desk.

I'm not really any good at this. Any advice or idea pictures would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Dual screens through a dock or hub for dual syatem set up.

I want to use two monitors either 2x 24" fhd or 2x27"QHD 120hz.

I have a work laptop i would like to be powered by the monitor but would consider a docking station. I also have an m2 pro mac mini that I would like to use two extended screens on.

Can I buy a monitor that will power the laptop and via daisy chaining send the signal via that usbc to both screens and also hook up the mac mini to both screens? A kvm would be nice.

It seems like it should be easy but I can't get a clear answer on it the laptop daisy chain seems standard but docks seem to say both mac screens would be a mirror of each other.

I was looking at dell pro or ultrasharp these would be max budget.

Its mainly for work and occasional gaming, photoediting (not pro level) and music using logic. Also considered an ultra wide 34 inch if easier bjt work would benefit from dual screens for sharing.

Finally happy with desthwing recipe

Think I've finally found a Deathwing recipe/method I like that looks like old bone armour without being too yellow or too brown or too white. Paillid bone speedpaint as a wash and then as a glaze seems to have been the trick.

Looking forward to doing the rest of this squad now.

As requested, video guide in instagram, link on profile but in summery

Prime: light grey Base: Army Painter Skeleton bone Wash: heavy with mixed pallid bone with medium 5:2 ratio Sponge the Skeleton bone back on. Drybrushed ancient stone Glazed some shade in with the pallid bone mix with some glaze medium added.

Best way to prime and base bone armour with air brush

I want to paint another squad of knights. Last time i rattle can primed with wraith bine and contrast painted pallid bone over the top as shown in picture, which worked up but there was a lot of texture.but was just starting painting.

I've since bought an air brush and now use that for prime and base.

Everything else I prime black. Would it be madness to prime these in black then base with something like dusty skull through an airbrush. I assume I'd reasonable coverage with air brush. Or should I stick to the original way and accept texture and coffeestain look in place.

Would grey be a better start. I've not found an airbrush white primer that works.

Tyranids Neurotyrant with attempt at glowing brain and osl

Neurotyrant done, tried a slightly quicker and easier osl effect on the crest from the glowing brain, don't think its too bad for the speed of it.

OSL with army painter oranges and yellows with a tip I got from an oil painting tutorial to add a dot of violet to help with the glow. Plus a lot of orange washes.

Tyranids Nuerotyrant with attempt at glowing brain and OSL

Still a bit of a work in progress but mostly done and need to paint some other things so suspect it will stay like this as meant to be trying to limit hours spent on these. Trying to avoid over working stuff and ending up looking messy or too busy.

Had a go at making the brain glow and hopefully that comes across.

Tried a very simple OSL on the crown parts rather than gradual glazing it in like I've previously tried mainly as there wasn't the room to have a long blend of the colour so just tried painting the line on.

Think its end up unintentionally with a very 70s vibe with the background colour as usually use a black background and a less warm light for pictures.

Tyranids Psychophage warhammer 40k

Would love some feedback on this, pleased with how it turned out as was dreading it and would work out how to subassemble so just had to build and base.

Was concerned about the mouth but in the end had enough access to do the most obvious teeth. Was please with how the veins on the belly turned out though not sure if they are very clear or obvious.

Tyranid Psychophage

Some photos of the psychophage I've just finished painted in the colours of timpaintsminis Hive Fleet Trauma.

Been putting this one off as it looked hard to paint especially the mouth and tentacles but in the end decided against sub assembly as there were to many joins to fill.

Despite dreading it, the mouth was ok and I like how the veins came out on the swollen belly parts.
