Looking for tips and advice on how best to clean and protect the action internals.

I've seen suggestions to use a CLP type spray and cotton buds to clean, then brush on a light coating of everything from a high quality engine oil through to petroleum jelly.

Is there a definitive best approach?

I’m replacing the discs and pads on my car, local parts supplier has two size options, can anyone confirm if I need 366mm or 345mm?
