Hey everyone been at the academy for about a month would love to answer some questions for y’all!

How’s it going, everyone? This is my first time posting on this sub, and honestly, I’ve been going through it pretty badly.

I’m currently at a fire academy, and I’ve been struggling to control these heart palpitations. I’ve been having them for over a year now. I’ve had multiple EKGs (around four), several scans, and different tests, and thankfully nothing serious has been found. At one point, my doctor prescribed me anxiety medication, and it actually helped a lot, but I’m not able to take it while I’m at the academy.
I feel like I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried L-theanine, ashwagandha, and a bunch of other things, but I still can’t get these palpitations out of my head. When they get really bad, I convince myself that I’m having a heart attack, even though I’ve been checked out multiple times.
I’m currently having around 15 episodes a day, and it’s becoming exhausting, especially while trying to get through the academy.

Has anyone else dealt with something similar, especially in a high-stress environment like a fire academy? I’d really appreciate hearing how you learned to manage it and stop constantly worrying about your heart.

I’ll be leaving for the academy next week, and I’ve been looking through some older posts, but I’m still a little confused about a few things.

First, what are some good boot recommendations for the academy? On my paperwork, it says the boots need to be polishable, but I’ve seen other posts saying that’s no longer required. I’ve also read that we can now wear black running shoes. I’d really appreciate any recommendations and clarification on what’s currently allowed.

Also, for the black/white socks, do they need to be short or long? Are small logos, like Nike, allowed, or do they need to be completely plain?

How's it going everyone As the title says, I’d really appreciate some recommendations. I’m coming up on 2.5 years in the hiring process for Customs, and it’s definitely been a long road. In the meantime, I’m looking for some potential jobs I could apply for as a backup while I continue waiting.

I’m a Marine Corps infantry veteran with a basic associate degree, and I’m open to pretty much anything federal. I’d really like to get my foot in the door and gain some federal experience while I wait for the Customs process to play out.

If anyone has recommendations for agencies, positions, or specific federal jobs that I might be a good fit for, I’d really appreciate the advice.

After spending a long time researching fragrance dupes and watching countless influencer reviews, I'm honestly a little disappointed. So many people say these scents are nearly identical to the originals, but I just don't hear it.

I bought decants of Rifaqat, Coconut Lagoon, and Vintage Radio, and none of them really impressed me. I kind of liked the dry downs, but overall they came across as pretty synthetic. Maybe I just picked the wrong ones.

I've heard better things about Hawas Ice, Club de Nuit, Vulcan Feu, and a lot of Montagne's fragrances. For those of you who have tried a lot of clones, what would you recommend?

Hey everyone! My birthday is coming up, and my girlfriend is getting me a new fragrance. She works at a store that carries both Byredo and Maison Margiela Replica, and she gets 50% off. My options are either one Byredo or two Maison Margiela fragrances.

For Byredo, I've been looking at Mojave Ghost and Bal d'Afrique. For Maison Margiela, I'm considering By the Fireplace, Jazz Club, and possibly the new Lost Eden if I can find it.

I'd love to hear your recommendations. How's the longevity and projection on these? I'm looking for one great nighttime/date fragrance and one versatile everyday scent. If you were in my shoes, would you go with one Byredo or two Maison Margielas?

Pretty much what the title says. I'm about to pick up a few fragrance dupes to see what all the hype is about. Up until now, I've only really bought designer fragrances.

Right now, I have Armaf Club de Nuit Intense and Afnan Supremacy Collector's in my cart. I'm also looking for a great vanilla fragrance, but after doing a lot of research, I still can't decide.

I've been considering Liquid Brun, but I've seen a few people say it smells like Axe Dark Temptation body spray, which has me hesitant. I've also looked at Vanilla 01.
