Cook County Jane Doe (1966)

Cook County Jane Doe (1966)

On July 17, 1966, in Cook County, Illinois, the body of a black female would be discovered in a forest preserve near 134th St. and River Road.

It is believed that Jane doe had been deceased for 4-6 weeks. Her cause of death is listed as unknown. Jane doe is described as having a slender build, a height estimated between 4’11”-5’1”. Age, weight, hair, and eye color are listed as unknown.

It breaks my heart, most of Jane doe’s details are listed as unknown. DNA, if a viable option, may be the only way to return Jane Doe’s identity.

* also to note: The Cook County Sheriff’s Office cold cases lists her discovery date as June 17, 1966 instead of July. All other sources I found have listed July. The discrepancies in the discovery month certainly do not help the case *

Cook County Jane doe has gone unidentified for 60 years.

Part of the Club

I think I’m gonna be a part of the club, but I’m not nearly famous enough.
It’s bullshit,
I abuse drugs and alcohol too.
But I can’t get a foot on the stage,
I guess all we got in common is our age.
Twenty-seven to the grave.

**disclaimer: it’s almost my birthday, it always makes me extremely sad. I’m okay, just simply inspired by the age I’m turning**

Philadelphia Jane Doe (1966)

On February 15, 1966, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Harbor patrol would discover a floating, headless, body of a white female in the Delaware River near Fitz Water St.

Jane doe had been cleanly decapitated and stabbed three times in the abdomen, her head has never been recovered. She is estimated to be between the ages of 25-45, white, with a height listed as 5’6”, and weight is at 135lbs estimated. Hair and eye color are unknown but Jane doe did have dark, greying pubic hair. Jane doe was found to be wearing: Long white slip dress, a white brassiere, brown nylon or silk stockings, and a white girdle.

A ring was found on her left hand and is described as: 14K white gold wedding ring with 10 single-cut diamond chips. "14 K FRCO" inside. Further research into the ring found that it was mass distributed across the country.

Jane Doe is believed to have been in the water for 2-5 days.

On DoeNetwork, it says: “A man named Roland Partelow made a detailed confession of the murder. His claims were later discredited via polygraph and further investigation”. The Websleuths link I included has a comment with his confession.

Los Angeles Jane Doe (1976)

On May 19, 1976, in Wilmington, California, a man riding his motorcycle through an oil field would discover the burned remains of a young girl. A nearby resident had reported to police that he had supposedly seen the glow of what appeared to be a fire coming from the field at around 4:15am that day as he left for work.

Despite being burned beyond recognition, it was determined that the Jane Doe was a black female, estimated to be between the ages of 13-18yrs old, 5’2” in height, and 100lbs. Her hair color is listed as black and worn in a “French curls style/several short French braids”, her eyes are listed as brown. Clothing found with the Jane doe is listed as: Green pullover, multi-colored skirt, black corduroy pants, green wedgie shoes.

An autopsy determined her death to be from a drug overdose.

Los Angeles Jane Doe has remained unidentified for 50 years.

On September 5th, 1975, in St. Petersburg, Florida, a fisherman would find a barnacle encrusted skull at the mouth of Little Bayou, south of Coquina Key. No other remains were recovered.

John Doe is estimated to be between the ages of 7-20 years old. Race, weight, and height could not be estimated without the rest of the remains. John Doe is believed to have a post-mortem interval of 1-4 years prior to 1975.

He has undergone testing by Othram Inc. but I could not find the outcome of that testing if listed.

Pinellas John Doe has gone unidentified for 51 years.

Arvin Jane Doe 1978’s NCMEC page has been down for about 12 days now. I haven’t seen any updates anywhere else and have been checking in daily to see if the page has been reinstated or updated. Does anyone have info on this? I know it’s probably a long shot and that I’ll just have to wait, however, I still wanted to ask and bring awareness to the fact.

I know a few people here have been following Arvin Jane Doe’s case.
