Ai Posts

TLDR - AI posts are not banned for now, but must be tagged.

There is debate across Reddit, this sub, and between the mods over whether AI should be banned from subreddits. AI does structurally harm communities, people, and can have a negative effect on the arts. I personally don’t believe in banning content outright unless it’s graphic or inappropriate. This could change though, but for right now we are going to be at least requiring everyone to tag anything they made with AI with the AI tag. From what I’ve seen most people will just outright say they don’t like AI if they don’t and downvote it anyway, and those who like it will upvote. This seems a bit more in the spirit of Reddit’s survival of the fittest management.

I also don’t think Mods are Gods who should decide what people can and can do, but we are responsible for making sure this is a good community for everyone and isnt filled with garbage. In that vein, this doesn’t mean just post random AI generated stuff that’s not relevant or that we want the sub to be full of AI. Low quality and lazy posts have never been allowed and still aren’t and will be removed.
