Is it possible to find actors and crew members to work for free on a feature film or is it better to pay them and if so, how much should I pay them?

I'm a beginning filmmaker and this isn't a really big concern but in the future when I plan to direct feature films, is there a way to find volunteer work or should I find a producer, or use some kind of funding service?

Hello! I’m looking for an experienced producer to pitch an idea to

I’m an aspiring filmmaker who is currently developing two projects, but I did have an idea for a action Gothic style thriller that I’m willing to send out for free as long as I get a writing credit on the film and I am willing to do as many revisions that the producer or director thinks is necessary.

TITLE:

American Hero

OUTLINE PAGE COUNT:

5 to 10 pages

ESTIMATED BUDGET:

1,000 to 2,500 USd.

if no one wants to use it, I understand if it’s too expensive and stuff like that I can also rewrite it to be a much smaller budget but that’s why I am looking for someone with a fair amount of experience and money to invest in it

Hello! I’m a 16 year old aspiring filmmaker and I’m just looking for ideas

Today I began writing the script for my first feature which is going to be a slasher with very limited characters and locations. after which I’m really hoping to direct and produce a fan film based on Halloween. All I need is some sort of treatment or outline based on the first film. If I like it you can turn it into a screenplay for the early drafts which I’ll revise as the director and we can share a writing credit.

As I said before I’m quite young so you‘ll have to do this for free so you don’t have to worry about deadlines. take your time.

and I understand concerns about copyright violations but this is for a no-profit fan film and will be uploaded to YouTube.

i thank you in advance!

Genre:

horror/slasher/mystery

TITLE:

Halloween.

TREATMENT PAGE COUNT:

5 to 10 pages.

SCREENPLAY:

75 to 90 pages as long its suspenseful.

When it comes to finding a theme to convey visually

Do you usually have themes or motifs in mind one you've written the script or after reading the first draft all the way through?

And does the script change even during the shoot? I've heard some directors say they lean on improvisation or last minute tweaks rather than going by the script word by word.

What's your process from script to screen?

I want to apologize for my arrogant behavior.

I made some remarks that made it seem like I'm bitter or I think that I know better than people but really I've been wanting to make a feature film for a very long time. I've made short films where I've learned a lot of the basics. The main motive for making a feature is that whenever I've made a short film I'll have to wait longer periods of time to finish and at that point we might as well make a movie.

My first feature will still be a fan film based on Halloween. It's not impossible to receive funding for this projects. I will write the story around what I can do. More than likely it will be 70 to 85 minutes long. 90 at max.

Again, I'm truly sorry for this. At 16 years old making a feature sounds ambitious but I have a good friend who's been a PA and DP as well as directed some commercials to help me out.

I may have come across as prideful but that was not my attention. I just don't want people discouraging our gatekeeping me from my dreams.

Good day to all!

How could I fake an asylum?

hopefully in September we start shooting a feature film of mine and I really want to know how I could fake an asylum hallway and patient room practically without using more than 200-500 dollars

The first film is great and one of my favorite movies of all time but:

Her actings not that great… it think that if Annie was the lead like some fans want her to be the film wouldn’t be as good. I feel that as someone born in a completely different century from when the film was made a lot of the acting is dated. don’t get me wrong it’s a great film but it could benefit with a more modern approach nowadays

Which should I keep?

The left is a plush I've had for ten plus years from the Disney store. the right is the Mattel one but I really don't like having doubles.

I have a strong idea but my execution was weak

Could someone turn an idea of mine into a script? It’s a psychological found footage horror synopsis and is one page long. Could someone turn it into a 90 to 120 page script?

Would this change the tone of my fan film?

in my feature film fan reboot I thought this would be a nice thing to change the look of the film visually but I think some people say it’s cheesy

Let's say I'm making a no-budget feature and can only have 3 to 5 people on my crew what are the most important crew members?

I'm trying to key-word trying to make a no-budget feature as the writer-director-actor. What are 3 crucial roles I can't risk not having?

My idea for my fan film reboot

So for a year I've been wanting to make a feature length Halloween reboot fan film. Here's my idea -- we don't have an opening with Judith Myers, we don't have an asylum escape or even Dr Loomis. This guy, in a white mask just shows up. Online an urban legend has been burned into the zeitgeist: every year on Halloween this guy in a white mask and dark clothing shows up and goes on a killing spree and has never been caught. He shows up in a different town every year and finds new vitcims and once Halloween is over, he's gone. We have a new group of teens. The main lead is teen boy. Now the dynamic between the teens is fairly normal but they're likable and relatable so when they die, you kind of care. There's even an implication that this could be a different person in each town every year. There might be some sort of post-title tag and we would see what the shape does. I might even have the lead boy loose his mind and take on the mantle of the shape, leaning into the different person idea.

what do you guys think?

What are some ways to make a feature with less than 10 speaking roles?

I want to make a feature but only have access to about four people. I started writing the script as a home invasion horror film. How could I make this feature length (putting prolonged shots and shoe leather aside)?

Always remember to save you work!

so I only had the first 18 pages of my script saved to my computer. I was working on it today and got to page 50. My computer did a random update which logged me out briefly so my work did not save and I am literally going to fall be always set your backups on your compute!

Do you think young Michael was a normal kid?

Title. I'm going to be making a fan remake of the original film and I keep thinking about this aspect of the movie. Do you imagine this version of Michel in the photo speaking and playing, hanging out with friends?
