A divine feat, like barrierless domain.
By "tragic", I am referring to tragic plays. A recurring theme in tragedy is that of a character who must choose between their duty and their loved ones. For example, in Iphigenia, Agamemnon’s duty is to sacrifice his own daughter. Similarly, in Le Cid, Rodrigue must choose between his duty (to kill the father of the woman he loves) and love Such dilemmas force the characters to make impossible choices. Still in the case of Iphigenia, Agamemnon must watch his daughter being led to the sacrificial altar, unable to do anything about it because of his duty as king. That is what happened to Garp. In Marinford, his duty as the Hero of the Marines compelled him to watch as Ace was led to the scaffold. Just like Agamemnon, he would switch several times between his love for his grandson and his duty.
The same interpretation can be applied to Kizaru, by the way.
Edit: I’m not making excuses for Garp. I just think he shares certain traits with characters from classical tragedy.
From what we’ve seen, he can use lightning and flames, can fly, and has good physical stats. He uses both ranged and melee attack. Furthermore, the narrator says that his power is a combination of good and evil, light and darkness. He also seems to have excellent AP.
By headcanon, I mean anything that hasn’t been directly confirmed or shown in the manga or by Oda but which you believe to be true. For example, believing that Luffy can combine G5 and Bound Man (yes, I’m looking at you, Oldbread)
Here are a few of mine:
- Rocks, Garp and Roger have FS and ID
- Akainu is an awakened logia
- Just as you need to have COA and COO to become a vice-admiral, you need to have ACOA and ACOO to become an admiral
- Dragon > Kaido
Where to start? Yc1 > admirals and Garp is a common take over there. Some people genuinely believe that Mihawk is at Yc3 level and that he’ll never face Zoro, or even that 2 Yc1 > 1 Yonko. Of course, not everyone over there thinks that way. However, I genuinely wonder how, given the current state of the manga, people can reach such conclusions.
I’ll cling to even the faintest hope to prove that Loki is at least A-tier.
I think it was clear to everyone that he’d use magic or something like that. So, what were the theories about his powers?
