Psychology/Elementary Education
hi! I plan to dual major in Psychology & Elementary Education soon, most likely here. If you do either program here, can you tell me what it's like? :)

hi! I've been looking at colleges in Florida and found FAU interesting. I plan to dual major in Psychology and Elementary Education. If you do either of these programs, can you tell me about your experience here? :)
Hello! I My favorite game on Roblox is Adopt Me and I really want a MFR Dragon Jester, but I don't feel like trading all of my pets for it. I'm busy with school so I can't get a job yet, but I spent around $40 for 5 jester dragons. I don't think I can afford to spend any more, but I really want to make one.
All donations are heavily appreciated!

hi! so I need a 3.5 GPA by graduation. I currently have a 3.29 unweighted and a 3.33 weighted. I'm graduating this year, and considering taking one (or maybe more) of these courses! I already have all of my needed science credits for graduation (Biology, Environmental Science, & Chemistry).
I took Environmental in 8th grade on FLVS (I'm in 11th/12th grade so like 4ish years ago?), I got an A, super easy and I enjoyed it a lot. I plan to dual major in Psychology and Elementary Education, but if I don't enjoy teaching/school counseling, I could for sure see myself going back to school for Environmental Science.
I took Biology Freshman year, I got a D. I wouldn't say it's because I didn't understand the subject, more so because I had issues and barely went to school. I took Chemistry last year (10th grade). I found it super hard. I got an A for the first 2 quarters, a B third quarter, and a D fourth quarter. I want a science credit to boost my GPA and also just for more knowledge!
If you've taken any of these, let me know how they went!
- Marine Science (Honors preferred)
- Earth/Space Science (Honors preferred)
- Forensic Science
- Astronomy Solar/Galatic (Honors)
- Anatomy & Physiology (Either Honors or Regular)
I'm horrible at math so I know for a fact I won't take physics lol
I need to carry a binder, multiple notebooks, and a few other supplies and I'm genuinely curious to know if anyone else's schools have hundreds of lockers but nobody that uses them? At my school very few people use them, and the ones that do get judged for it.
I never understood judging someone for using a locker. Freshman year, I had to carry 2 binders, 1 3-subject notebook, and 2 regular notebooks. Sophomore year, I had to carry 2 binders and 3 notebooks (not including one I kept in a class). I'm a junior now and I'm supposed to carry a binder (potentially 2 if they switch my schedule), a folder, 2 notebooks, not including one I'm keeping in a class (might be 3 during semester 2), lunch, and more supplies. That doesn't sound horrible, but it piles up quickly.
I also know a lot of AICE kids, I know one who carries four binders. No locker, they just carry four binders every day. My back could neverrr.
Does your school offer lockers? If so, do people use them? There are hundreds at mine nobody ever uses and I don't know why.
Little rant because people got so mad I wanted to attend senior sunrise!
I entered high school in 2024 as a freshman. I'm a junior and a senior at the same time (early grad). I've noticed that whenever I mention attending senior events or call myself a senior, people get mad.
I'm sorry but I don't understand why people take it so seriously. I posted about my last first day, someone said I shouldn't say that because "It's my third year in high school and it's offensive to ACTUAL seniors".
I posted about attending Senior Sunrise, I had multiple people reply and say, "You'll look stupid", and "You're not even a senior why would you go...". I also saw one girl (not sure if it was directed towards me but it wasn't too long after I posted it) make her Instagram note "Why are you attending senior sunrise as a junior." Mind you, this wasn't even a senior. I could get if I was a freshman attending senior sunrise but you're really gonna tell me someone with all their senior credits besides 0.5 attending is embarrassing?
Someone asked me what grade I was in one time and I said "11th and 12th", because that's literally what I'm registered as. He kept asking "Did you skip a grade or are you just graduating early?". I said I'm graduating early, and I only needed 0.5 of a senior credit (which will be taken next semester) plus all my junior credits done, he said "Exactly so you're just a junior graduating". Yeah, I'm a junior, and I'm a senior too.
I went to a senior assembly and had a few people ask why I was there because I was a junior, I explained to them, and they said that I shouldn't be there. I am taking the SAT this year. I am taking the ACT this year. I am applying to college this year. I am graduating this year. So why can't I come to the assembly that's entirely about that? None of the admins or teachers care so why do you?
I call myself an eleventh and twelfth grader because that's what I am. People, especially seniors, get so defensive over it. I don't know why.
Also last year sophomores at my school and all over social media did the "Sophomore Slump" trend. Basically if you're a sophomore just dress like a bum on a certain day. I remember so many people saying "Yall wanna be class of 2026 so bad". I could understand if it was about sophomores going to senior events, but trust me, nobody wants to "be a senior" just because they have sweatpants and a stained hoodie on.
Anyways! I'm going to keep calling myself a Junior and a Senior because it's not affecting anyone. I'm going to keep going to senior events because I've worked hard to earn my senior credits early and I deserve it! I'm going to keep going to senior assemblies because it's my last year in high school! So please just mind your business instead of immediately assuming things! <3
I'm also my junior class secretary, there's no senior class treasurer so I might ask the advisor if I can hold 2 positions for 2 different classes, it's a long shot but I'll try it! Wish me luck on Monday everyone! :)
For some reason even though the season ended almost a month ago I'm still seeing so many posts and comments about how "Aniya uses facetune". Additionally, I've seen other people say, "Why are people getting on Aniya for using facetune and not Jen?"
I'm sorry, but does anyone else think this is so ridiculous?
First of all, we saw them on the show with no filter. They're both beautiful, so I don't know why this is even a discussion. Since before the show even started people were judging her for "Facetuning her pictures" since her Instagram "didn't look the same as her casting photo". -- Even after an entire season I still see hate on her for her pictures. She's been here since day 1. We've seen since day 1 that she's pretty. Jen also posted pictures of herself recently, and a lot of people got on her for that. We've seen on the show that neither of the women are ugly. Jen is literally a model. We've seen them being filmed with no filters, no makeup (early in the day/at night), arguing with people, crying, excited, and even with goo/food on their faces.
And, genuinely why is it such a big deal if they do?... I personally don't use it but if you do, who cares? SO many former islanders use facetune/edit their pictures. Not only love island, but 99% of celebrities in the real world edit their pictures in some way. If you go on any celebrity or former islander's page, there's an extremely high chance of at least one picture being edited in some way. And why does it matter? We're living on a spinning rock. There are so many worse issues happening in the world right now and people are really complaining about a bit of editing.
I hope someone understands where I'm coming from. I really don't understand why people act like it's such a big deal if someone edits their pictures. The season's been over for almost an entire month and seeing people still complain about editing is so annoying in my opinion. Especially when so many other islanders do it and nobody cares. It's not a big deal if they do, but why only call out 2 islanders and not anyone else?
I already understood that misogyny was rooted in a lot of things, but a recent TikTok trend made me realize, it's way more than I ever thought or expected.
For a few months there's been this trend, the background audio is a man saying, "And then I realized what it is... there's a man." following up with some suspenseful music. The video itself calls out misogynistic behavior, showing how women get mistreated for doing it and men get treated great for doing the same thing.
One example- teen pregnancy. If a girl gets pregnant at a young age, she's seen as "a bird", "irresponsible", "a sl*t.". On the contrary, if a boy is a young teen dad, people will comment about how "At least he's responsible." and "He's such an amazing father."
Another example, one video showed how when a man is cooking, he's told "You'd be a great chef!", if a woman is cooking, "You'll be a great mom!" Also, if a mom takes her children to get fast food, people call her a "Lazy mom". While a man would be called a "Cool dad".
One that really hit close to home, if a woman can't get over her ex, people call her "A bird". But if a man can't get over his ex, he's "Heartbroken" and "A yearner".
I don't know if this is the right place to put this, sorry if it isn't, but I need to say this somewhere. It's making me realize everything so much deeper. I wonder what other forms of misogyny happen all the time that I never notice. It feels like so many things have misogyny rooted in them that nobody ever notices.
Hi!
So long story short, I one day hope to become either a School Counselor or a School Psychologist. If that fails, I want to be a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. That sentence alone might seem like Psychology is the obvious choice, but here's the issue.
Before I become any of those, I want to be a teacher. As of now, I plan to spend a few years in elementary, then middle, then highschool (unless a position opens and I'm eligible to work in it, where I live School Counseling & School Psychologist positions at good schools are hard to get). My mom's been an educator for 24 years and my dad just left teaching recently (both enjoy it), so I know teaching can definitely be a hassle. I can become a teacher with a bachelors in literally anything, but here's the issue:
There are two schools I can go to.
School 1 - A state college; offers Early Childhood Education as an associates and Elementary Education as a bachelors. This is much more affordable (~3,500-5000 per year). They offer psychology as an associates, but for a bachelors degree in Psychology I'll need to attend School 2.
School 2 - An actual university; Offers Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Psychology. Also offers minor degrees. School 1 and School 2 have an agreement-- If you graduate with your associates from school 1, you'll automatically be accepted into school 2. So I could get my associates from school 1 in Psychology but my bachelors in Psychology from School 2. But the issue is both the drive and the cost. School 2 costs ~17,000-25,000 per year. I don't plan to get a dorm (for a lot of reasons but especially the price.). My parents wouldn't mind paying for my tuition at School 1, but School 2? I'm on my own.
Both my parents got their degrees in Elementary Education. My mom wanted to work in elementary school, but my dad's college advisor told him that more jobs will be open if you have an elementary education degree since Elementary School Kids can be unexpected, which is true honestly, so I feel like I'd get more opportunities with that.
However- If I decided to go to school 2 after my associates, I could major in Psychology and get a minor in Teaching, or I could major in Elementary Education and get a minor in Psychology.
I do plan to start subbing once I turn 18 (after my first year of college), so I'll be able to pay for college.
What do you think I should do? I'll answer any questions if needed. Thank you in advance! <3
It is currently 2:01AM as I write this. I can't sleep. School is starting soon for me, and I need to fix my sleep schedule.
For some reason my body physically cannot make me sleep until at least 5am. That sounds ridiculous, but I can't. It doesn't matter if I lay there and think of nothing, it doesn't matter if I have a lot on my mind, it doesn't matter if I'm hungry/thirsty or not, it doesn't matter if I go on my phone the entire night or if I don't even touch my phone once.
School starts at 7:00 on the dot. I need to be at school by 6:45 every morning, and I absolute hate rushing. I have a few honors classes, so I don't want to fall behind. I'm trying to graduate early, but I also want a decent GPA (I messed around freshman year </3), so I want to try and get all As. And even though I got mostly As last year, there were two classes I always struggled paying attention in because I was so tired (Chem & Geometry). I don't have a science class this year but I'm taking Algebra 2. Again, freshman year I struggled in Algebra 1 because of how tired I was. Me and a lot of people have an inside joke about how "High schoolers never get used to the sleep schedule".
Any tips? I need it fixed by at least the 10th, if not earlier. I'm going to try to get up earlier tomorrow and not take a single nap, but if that doesn't work, I'm here to seek advice.
Thank you in advance!
Hi! I unfortunately had to break up with my ex-girlfriend around a month ago, which has severely messed up my skin. I understand why, but any tips to help?
Before our breakup, my skin looked amazing. I always got compliments on my skin, I had almost no pimples and my skin was absolutely glowing. After our breakup, my skin is totally different. My skin feels dry, it looks dull, and everytime I wake up I get a new pimple.
I used to always get compliments on how my skin looked, but since the breakup I've looked like a whole different person. My best friend even pulled me aside one day and asked "Are you okay? Your skin looks totally different. You look like you've barely gotten sleep".
Additionally, I have severe eyebags. I've always had mild eyebags, but recently it's been a lot more noticeable. I'm young, so I don't want any kind of retinol solution, but I want to know how to get rid of them.
As of now I'd say this is how bad my skin issues are:
Dryness: 8/10 - My skin usually feels oilier in the summer, but it feels exactly like sandpaper does.
Acne: 7/10 - It's mostly small pimples with a few very noticeable ones. Even when I use these pimple patches it doesn't fully go away.
Eyebags: 6/10 - They're quite noticeable and everyone always tells me I look exhausted.
Chapped Lips + Lighter Colored Lips: I didn't mention this but I'd like to add it. Dryness is def a 9/10. My lips have become a bit pale and super dry. My lips always get dry during the summer (for some odd reason), but they've gotten a litter paler (I'd rate that as a 4/10, nobody's mentioned it but I just feel like it looks lighter, which isn't pleasing since I'm already pretty pale.)
Anyone have any tips? I only use 2 products (La Roche Posay Purifying Foaming Face Wash & Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water Gel -- and on that topic, I'd love to know a good sunscreen for oily skin, especially if it's a spray!). I'll use Livaclean pimple patches at night or if I'm not going anywhere.
If it matters, I don't really wear base makeup. I wear Vaseline on my eyebrows, I put lash serum on my eyelashes, and I put Vaseline lip therapy on my lips before bed and every morning. So I don't think makeup is an issue.
I'm graduating a year early next year and unfortunately, I completely messed my GPA up freshman year. To get into my dream honors college, I need a 3.5 GPA or higher. I'm willing to work for it, it's my fault that my GPA is that low anyways. I currently have a 3.26 GPA unweighted, and 3.30 GPA weighted.
I got my schedule for this year, there's a few mistakes on it so it's not guarenteed, but I'm supposed to be taking AICE Gen Paper and US History Honors, so as long as I do well in the classes, I should be fine.
I'm doing English 4 currently and I'm almost done. I've been looking at the courses to find ones that'll boost my GPA. I found interest in a few, such as Psychology, Social Media 1, and Parenting skills, but I want to do the harder classes first, so if you've taken any of these, let me know how they were! I want to hear from everyone whose taken them, and especially if you took these honors!
- Marine Science (I've heard it's easy)
- Forensic Science (I've also heard it's easy)
- Holocaust Studies (I haven't heard much, but what I have heard has been mixed)
- Applications of Artificial Intelligence
- Artificial Intelligence of the World
I'm interested in Psychology and I'm genuinely curious to know if anyone understands the thought process behind why people become parasocial.
I've only been around since season 6, so I can't tell you much about earlier seasons, but one of my friends whose been watching since Season 1 told me, "The community's always been parasocial, but it's gotten worse since season 6 got popular".
Here are some things I've heard of since Season 6 began:
- The hate train on Aaron
- The big hate train on the Casa Amor girls during Season 6 (Especially Daia, Catherine, & Sierra)
- Huge (and still ongoing) hate train on Andrea
- Posting Kendall's (& allegedly Rob's) private videos
- Serena attacked at Coachella
- People bullying Kaylor for staying with Aaron (not saying they were a good match, but there was a lot of hate towards Kaylor)
- People hating on JaNa when her & Kenny broke up
- Racism towards JaNa & Serena
- The hate some Huda fans still hold for JaNa & Leah
- The hate on Amaya, Iris, & Hannah due to their behavior on Beyond the Villa
- The hate on Huda early in the season
- A person (allegedly) called CPS on Huda -- Mixed things have been said, may or may not be true
- People bullying Vanna & Clarke
- The hate on Olandria after the Stand on Business challenge
- The obnoxious ongoing hate on Cierra
- The somewhat still ongoing hate on Chelley
- A person allegedly called ICE on Cierra
- People making fun of Andreina for her "cankles" (whatever that's supposed to mean)
- People saying, "Clarke looks like a man" (she doesn't.)
- The racism towards Huda, Olandria, Chelley, Huda, & Cierra.
- People saying "Coco is way prettier than Chelley" (and vice versa)
- People saying "Olandria is way prettier than Coco" (and vice versa)
- People finding islander's family
- People messaging Huda's ex telling him, "You're so lucky, you dodged a bullet".
- People calling literally every single islander to enter the villa ugly.
- Stan Twitter.
- People making racist AI pictures of Tierra
- Someone trying to get Zach arrested
- Kenzie getting more hate than people who have done much worse
- People making fake screenshots to try and get Parmida kicked out of the villa
From what I'm aware, there's 3 snark pages for Love Island cast members. (One from Season 6 and Two from Season 7). I know fans get parasocial about a lot of singers, youtubers, etc, but I never understood why. If anyone understands psychology, why do people get so parasocial about the cast members, even if they never met them? I'm genuinely dying to know. I've read about it but it genuinely does not make sense to me.
Hi!
I'm an author interested in writing a second book. My first one was a queer memoir. I want to write a second book and I'm thinking of making it LGBTQ+ related as well. Whether it be about a queer relationship, someone finding out they're trans, a diary of being queer in this day and age, etc.
I've been scrolling this subreddit and saw a few people asking for a MTF x MTF Trans relationship book, so I might do that. But what suggestions do you have?
Hi! I'm writing a psychology research paper and in one chapter I'm writing about physical appearances. I thought this would be a good place to look because I've submitted surveys here before and I'm looking for responses from all ages (including teenagers)! ❤️
I'm making a new haircare routine and I'm looking for Gel suggestions! I have a mixture of 2b & 2c hair, that's fine & low Porosity.
I don't want it to be too thick/heavy, the issue I have with most gels is that they leave my hair very stringy! All suggestions help! :)
