I want to dehydrate starter

I want to do a large amount. Can I use a food dehydrator? I know I can leave it out to dry naturally, but wanting to speed up the process a bit and have it in an enclosed area.

Hybrid battery health

TLDR: What mileage were you at before you got they hybrid system warning light?

.

I did the Dr. prius battery health test on my 2013 ct200h. The result was "fair condition", but it stopped before the countdown was finished. I think it still had 3 minutes left when it went to this screen. Not sure if that is normal. I haven't had any errors pop up, but I am having to take it on a 2000mile trip next week. It has about 133,000 miles on it now but it is very well maintained. I recently removed the hybrid fan and cleaned it, changed spark plugs, bunch of fluids just flushed. I am going to take apart the egr system and clean everything when I get back. My MPG right now is pretty crappy, but most of my driving is short drives in town with a lot of stop and go traffic. I'm wondering what mileage you were at before you had to replace the hybrid battery?

USA Job application/disability

I'm filling out an application for a job and I got to the disability disclosure section, like I have on many applications before. This one has "present or past cancer diagnosis" listed as one of the disabilities. It's the first time I have seen this. Do I really need to tell a potential job that I survived cancer 10 years ago? Is this legal? How is this even considered a disability?!

Aglaonema Silver Bay

I'm not sure how to propagate this. It's a large stem. The cut end is pretty dry. I think it got cut or broken about a week ago. I'd like to try to grow it if possible. Thank you!

Hybrid battery Lexus

Where can I take my Lexus to have the hybrid battery health checked? I'm not getting any warning lights or anything. It's just 15ish years old and it would be great to have an idea before I take a long road trip.

Just make a SEPARATE dog podcast.

I just started listening to this podcast a month ago at work and I LOVE it but I absolutely HATE the stupid pruppet segments. I listen at work and it's so friggin annoying to have to stop what I am doing, remove my gloves/work gear, and go back to my phone just to skip it. My headphones don't allow me to skip. Why would they add a segment talking about dogs on a murder podcast!?! It makes absolutely no sense to me. Edit: in case it isn't obvious I am just venting. I'm already aware that you can skip ahead on podcasts. It isn't convenient for me to to go back to my phone and do that while I am working. If it was easy for me to do then I wouldn't be as annoyed.

Having trouble with the 80% 125% rules.

From what I understand the 80% is really kind of outdated? Like when people say 115v instead of 120v? So for a continuous load, you multiply the amp draw by 1.25. You size up the wire to help the heat dissipate. I don't understand why you also size up the breaker. Wouldn't sizing the wire up take care of any overheating? If there is an issue in the equipment causing a higher amp draw, wouldn't you not want a larger breaker, because it would take longer to trip? Thanks in advance for helping me understand this.

Running under faucet

My best one so far! This is being gifted to a friend. Instead of doing ice cubes, I just scored my loaf then wet the whole thing under my faucet before putting it in the oven. Anyone else try this method? I'm not sure if I heard it somewhere or made it up?

.

100g starter

10g salt

300g water

500g flour

Mix on stand mixer on #2 for 7 minutes

Rest 1 hour

4 sets of stretch and folds every 30 minutes

Proof to 50% rise, then overnight proof

Bake in heated Dutch oven at 415 for 20 minutes covered and 40 uncovered.

Credit hacked?

Note: my credit is locked with all 3 companies and has been for a decade after the data breach scandal. I checked credit karma and don't see anything new on my account.

*

I got this text this morning and I called back. Did not give them ANY information and they only asked for my phone number. When they checked, they had someone else's name attached to it.and I said that's not me and they said OK. (No sales pitch or anything and I didn't recognize or remember the name)

.

A few minutes ago I get a call from "paramount software solutions" and they said they were an energy company and they were like "we see you own property in this state" (a state I lived in a LONG time ago). I just said "no I don't own property there" and they said "oh? Not at ********?" (Which was a previous rental address I had over 20 years ago, that I know can be seen in my credit report. Hung up.

.

Can anyone give me an idea of what might be happening?

Don't like the holes. Want less of them.

I know people are divided on the holes. Some people like them, I just don't. I like to be able to put toppings evenly on a slice and not bite into sensory landmines of pockets of my spread. (I have food texture issues) I like things to be more even.

I do feel like this is my best loaf so far, but I am hoping to have fewer holes. Not sure if this can be corrected by proofing more or less.

100g starter

500g bread flour

300g water

10g salt

(Approx 63% hydration)

Stand mixer on speed #2 for 6 minutes

Rest for 1 hour. 3 sets of stretch and folds every 30 minutes.

Proofed to 50% rise on counter. (Used a small graduated 4oz cup and watched it go from the 2 line to the 3 line)

(Average dough temp was about 79-80 degrees)

Cold proof for 16 hours.

Baked with lid at 415 for 20 minutes and 40 minutes with lid off.

Temp work

I'd love to be able to find some temporary work framing houses. I have construction experience, but not really so much with framing. I have volunteered with habitat, but it's more difficult to do as an individual and they are doing more modular builds right now. Even just a couple days a week would be fine. I just like learning and would love some experience. Know anyone who is busy and could use some help? Or any other trades that might need a temporary helper?

Dough down the drain

I have been making a lot of sourdough bread and someone told me not to wash my mixing bowls in the sink because the dough residue on them will build up and clog the drains. Is this true?

Ok to gift to a friend?

TLDR: IS THIS ACCEPTABLE TO GIFT TO A FRIEND OR SHOULD I BE ASHAMED OF IT? 😂 (Slightly over proofed)

.

500g flour, 50g wheat flour, 125g , 350g water, 10g salt. 2 sets of stretch and folds 1hr after mixing when I add my salt. Counter bulk for 4 hours, cold ferment for 18 hours. Bake 420 Dutch oven with lid, 40 without. I don't need recipe advice, my finished product is usually good. I just got distracted when I was bulk proofing. I'm 90% sure I just over proofed.

.

I just want to know if you would feel ok gifting this to someone? It's a little flatter than they normally come out. I don't want to cut into it to check. I'm not sure if I am just being overly critical of myself.

New to unemployment

I have a bunch of resumes out. Still waiting to hear back. Is there some place I can go where I can find temporary work until I hear back from an application? like a place where you go in and they are like "you can go move bricks all day today" or "this company needs an extra hand to refinish a bunch of flooring all next week" or "need someone to pick strawberries". I need the sort of work where they won't be pissed if I suddenly need to leave for a better offer. I just need something temporary so I can pay my bills and eat. (I can't donate plasma)

Draft in duct

I'm an electrician and I replaced a bathroom vent fan in a small commercial space. The fan pulls air up from the room now, but when I was changing it, I noticed a draft coming in from the damper. Not enough to open the damper, but I felt it when I opened the damper and put my hand in. I looked above the bathroom (but didn't actually touch the duct) and it appears to be connected and going up to the roof. Is this normal to have a slight draft through the duct or should I tell them to contact maintenance?

My business closed 5 years ago

Homebase sent a local workplace award to my business that I closed 5 years ago. "Congrats! Your business is a top local workplace of 2026." Mostly annoying because I hate junk mail.

Bathroom fan motor

I'm replacing, but also trying to repair the old one for fun. I think this is the wheel bearings? It is filled with this brown dirt. Motor was making screeching noise. I was wondering if it could just be cleaned out and oiled. I'm not sure what I am looking at though.

Guts swap bathroom fan

(I am an electrician, not a DIYer) I have only ever replaced the whole bathroom fan unit. Client has a housing already in that measures 8.5 x 8.5 and new guts (different brand) that measure 8 x 8.25. old fan was 100cfm, new is 80cfm. What considerations do I need to make if I go with just replacing the guts? Should I just replace the whole thing? Normally I would, but there is no ceiling access. I could get a roomside fan if needed, but wanted to try to level up my skills by trying something different and this seems like a good opportunity.

Fitness classes at night

Where are regular weekday group fitness classes that start at or after 7pm. Yoga, cardio, dance...anything? Everything I see is usually earlier, which doesn't work for my schedule.
