thin horizontal dividers for billy bookshelves for holding CDs?

I have a few shelves' worth of CDs that I want to condense into "double stacks", but if I put a regular-sized shelf insert in, there's no longer enough room for two rows of CDs.

Moreover, the "halfway point" where the top of one row of CDs meets the bottom of the second row of CDs does not line up with a shelf-hole, anyway.

Simply stacking the CDs on top of each other isn't ideal, because if I pull something out of the bottom row, the top-row CDs would slip down to fill in the gap and cause them to be out of order.

Putting something straight-across could work, so long as it's sturdy enough in itself; the bottom row of CDs would keep it from bowing, for the most part. I wouldn't want it to be something like a piece of cardboard (looks like shit), and I wouldn't mind intermittent, just-as-thin vertical dividers to help keep its shape.

In fact, any sort of option that accomplishes this while allowing me to place other shelf decor on top of the CDs (that is, on top of whatever this new "shelf divider" is, on the top row) would be even better.

Apologies if this isn't clear. Happy to answer questions. Just wanted to put the thought out there.

I don't own my physical games anymore, do I?

Speaking from the perspective of a longtime retro gamer. It seems to me that even if a game comes on a physical CD, don't we only effectively "own" the license? Can't a game just be made uninstallable by Sony (or whoever) on a PS5 or 6?

I don't own Steam games; I own a license to them. It seems barely any better on GOG; I can get an offline installer, I guess, but even tons of single-player games can lock you out with a launcher. Can I even play Baldur's Gate 3 without an internet connection?

How do I even shop online anymore?

Amazon made it convenient for so long. Google made it easy to find businesses if Amazon didn't have it. Fuck them both.

I know I could just use sites like Startpage to find things, and I do, but it still seems that when I go looking for... *gestures broadly* ...and don't want to just get it on Amazon, there's really not much that beats going to the store.

Sure, I can ship tools and wood and parts and hardware direct from Lowe's or Home Depot, but fuck them just as much. What're some great, non-corpo shopping sites you all prefer?

If I emulate a game and play it on my phone, can I transfer the save to a memory card and continue where I left off playing that game on the console?

Long title, but I guess that's the question. Say I started playing Xenogears one night before vacation and wanted to take it with me to play on my phone on the plane.

I have a PS3 memory card reader.

Can I *get* the save in a format that's usable while playing on my phone via an emulator, then when I come back, transfer that save back to the same memory card to resume where I left off back on the PS1?

Will there be issues based on the pressing of the disc or anything? Would i be best ripping my own games' CD images, myself? Does it matter?

What is the most modern console I can play real, non-emulated copies of the original 4 games on?

I only ever played the first and would like to see about getting copies for whatever the newest systems theyre on. I have Playstations 1 and up, if that helps.

Console storage/shelving recommendations?

I have a ton of consoles (12?) and 3 TVs and I want to downsize my space while maintaining my game/system collection.

I'm getting rid of 2 TVs for sure, and I really don't care to have more than 1-2 consoles plugged in at once anymore.

I'd love to keep the consoles displayed somehow, too, but I think I'd look forward to less dusting, too. I don't want to store stuff in plastic totes in the room or anything, and I don't have a nearby closet or anything I could stash them in, either, so I'm looking for an...attractive?...storage solution.

Building a text-based adventure game; how can I keep related info (locations, shops, items and their prices, and descriptions for all these things...)

...I'm well underway just building it with HTML and JavaScript, honestly.

Anyhow, I'm taking notes for all of my stuff and want to be able to make essentially a database of information.

For example, there is an Outdoorsy Store located on Q12 of my town map. The store has a description when viewed from the map, and a longer description when you arrive there. The store has an inventory of 26 items you can buy. These items have long and short descriptions as well, as well as functions (item categories, like consumable, weapon, armor, ingredient...) and of course prices.

I want to keep a running list of all the items in the game for the rudimentary crafting system the game has. I would like that list to update automatically when I add any items to any store's inventory; I want the base prices for those items to be editable just once; I'd like to be able to specify where the item is sold from this list and have that work all the same as though I'd added it to the list of items in that shop otherwise.

What is the most effective way for me to get all of this information organized in a way that I'm not having to retype or copy/paste the same thing in several documents?

I shot scenes for a roughly 2-minute video that I'm using as a proof of concept for work. Part of what I'm wanting to accomplish is illustrate that "I need more tools to [do this thing]," which in this case is making/editing videos.

I'm removing the backgrounds from every shot and would like to replace the largely-empty background I've removed with a better-looking corporate office setting. Essentially, the same room layout but different.

What would be my best tool(s) for creating this?

I essentially want to be able to embed a stream of myself (thru OBS) onto a personal website without relying on external services like YouTube, Kick, or Twitch.

I do not expect large audiences, but somehow integrating IRC chat would be great.

Might anyone point me in any direction I'd need to start to accomplish this?
