The prettiest beach on the peninsula

This short hike is a great Sierra trek to do when you can't commit to a full day hike. This 2-mile out-and-back near
Kings Canyon National Park winds through granite outcrops, pines, cedar, manzanita, and pockets of colorful wildflowers. There are beautiful views throughout the climb but the real reward came at the end, where the sweeping vista stretched across the Sierra foothills and distant ridges. It was the kind of place that makes you want to sit quietly and soak it all in. I definitely recommend adding this one to your Kings Canyon itinerary.

Our last day on the Dingle trail following the pilgrims's pass up Mt Brandon was the most exhausting yet exhilarating of our hikes. In full rain gear, we followed the winding trail upward through boggy paths and slick rocks, each step made more deliberate by the relentless rain and gusting wind. A thick mist obscured the summit of the saddle trek making it all the more gratifying when we finally reached the Arraglen Ogham Stone located there.

The descent, recently refreshed with stone steps, was a bit easier and brought us down through more country lanes.

Though we initially planned to continue to Cloghane, we met a local on our way through Brandon who, seeing how drenched we were, suggested we stop by Murphy's Pub to sit by a warm fire. So, we ended our trek to Cloghane with hot toddies and a hearty meal before catching a bus back to Tralee. It was the most satisfying and fitting finale to our Dingle adventure!
