Bridal Veil Falls in Oregon

We took the short, in and out hike to Bridal Veil Falls (.6 mi) starting through a lush, shaded forest where moss-draped maples, ferns, and wildflowers create a green, fairy-tale setting. Along the path, you might spot songbirds flitting between branches, hear the rustle of squirrels in the undergrowth, and catch glimpses of butterflies near the stream. The trail descends gently to a viewing platform where the two-tiered 118 foot cascade tumbles gracefully into a rocky pool, framed by basalt cliffs and surrounded by the vibrant foliage of the Columbia River Gorge. A stunning view!

46701 Historic Columbia River Hwy,

Walking the Malecón in Lima, Peru

🌊 If you’re only doing one walk in Lima, make it this one.

We traded city streets for ocean views and spent 3 unforgettable miles strolling from modern Miraflores to colorful Barranco along the breathtaking Malecón.

Perched high above the Pacific, this clifftop promenade is where crashing waves, sea breezes, and endless coastal views steal the show.

Along the way we discovered:
✨ Parque del Faro, home to Lima’s iconic lighthouse (designed by Gustave Eiffel—the visionary behind the Eiffel Tower!)
💕 Parque del Amor, where vibrant mosaics and the famous El Beso sculpture make it one of the city’s most romantic spots.
🪂 Parque Raimondi, where paragliders soar effortlessly above the cliffs.
🌉 The glass-bottom Puente de la Paz, a beautiful symbol of harmony stretching along Lima’s coastline.

Our walk ended in Barranco, where colorful murals, lively cafés, and the charming Bajada de Baños welcomed us with music, art, and the perfect excuse to linger a little longer.

Sometimes the best way to experience a city isn’t from a tour bus or taxi—it’s one step at a time.

Would you walk this stunning coastal route?

Playa Solmar is one of Cabo's hidden gems

Not every great walk requires a trail map.

Sometimes all you need is a stretch of sand, the sound of crashing waves 2 and a little time to wander.

Playa Solmar is one of Cabo's hidden gems, a quiet beach tucked between Land's End and the Pedregal cliffs where the Pacific Ocean puts on a show with every wave.

Depending on the season, you may even spot whales breaching offshore.

There's no destination to reach here. No checklist of sights. Just the simple pleasure of walking beside the ocean and watching one of nature's most powerful forces at work.

! A reminder: these waves are beautiful, but they are strong. Keep a safe distance from the water and stay aware of changing conditions as you stroll.

Sometimes the best walks aren't the longest ones. They're the ones that make you stop, listen, and look a little longer.

Yoga in Canguu

Beyond the legendary surf breaks, Canggu is a wellness paradise where Balinese spirituality meets a vibrant global yoga community. Whether you’re craving a calming Yin session, an energizing Power Flow, aerial yoga, or a restorative sound bath, there’s a studio waiting to help you reset.

These were my favorite places to roll out my mat:

🧘 Serenity Eco Guesthouse & Yoga – Just minutes from the beach, this peaceful sanctuary offers 10+ classes a day, incredible instructors, and options for every level. Bonus: there’s a delicious vegan café, spa, and eco-friendly accommodations all in one spot.

🌿 Joga Yoga – Small classes, personalized instruction, and a welcoming atmosphere made this one of my favorites. Their meditation, Hatha, Vinyasa, plus sauna and cold plunge create the perfect wellness escape.

🌅 Empowered Yoga – Practicing on an open-air rooftop with tropical breezes and sweeping views? Pure magic. Their mix of Power Vinyasa, Strength & Flow, aerial yoga, meditation, and sound healing makes every class feel like a retreat.

Sometimes the best souvenir isn’t something you buy—it’s how you feel when you leave. 🙏

Have you found your favorite yoga studio in Bali yet?

Stories that reveal the soul of Bali

Which book would you pack for a trip to Bali? Or what destination inspired your favorite travel read? Share your recommendations below! 👇📖

Think Bali is just beaches and infinity pools? Think again. 🌴📚 Before you go, read your way into the island’s stories.

Start with Home by Leila S. Chudori, which explores exile, memory, and the longing for home against the backdrop of Indonesia’s modern history.

Then dive into Apple and Knife by Intan Paramaditha, where folklore and myth blend with stories of powerful and unforgettable women.

For a more poetic perspective, Indigenous Species by Khairani Barokka explores identity, colonialism, and environmental loss through a dreamlike journey.

If you're looking for an inspiring story of resilience, The Rainbow Troops by Andrea Hirata follows students and teachers determined to keep their village school alive.

Next, Beauty Is a Wound by Eka Kurniawan weaves magical realism into Indonesia’s turbulent past, creating a story that lingers long after the final page.

Many travelers will recognize Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, which captures the Bali of healing, reflection, and unexpected connection.

To better understand Balinese traditions, Island of Demons by Nigel Barley offers an insightful and often humorous look at daily life on the island.

For a deeper understanding of Bali’s history, Under the Volcano by Cameron Forbes explores the events that helped shape the island you see today.

Finally, Fragrant Rice by Janet DeNeefe brings Bali to life through stories, recipes, and reflections rooted in everyday culture.

These books reveal a side of Bali that extends far beyond the guidebooks. Save this list for your next trip and discover Bali one page and one step at a time.

One of Ubud’s Most Enchanting Restaurants

Tucked among lush rice paddies just minutes from the Monkey Forest, Bebek Tepi Sawah feels like a hidden Balinese retreat. A stroll through tropical gardens and past open-air bamboo pavilions sets the stage for a meal that is as memorable as the setting.

We couldn’t leave without trying the restaurant’s famous Crispy Bebek (fried duck), a local specialty that’s worth seeking out. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the peaceful rice field surroundings. The menu also offers seafood, chicken, vegetarian dishes, and Western favorites, making it an easy stop for every traveler.

If you’re exploring Ubud, this is the kind of place that invites you to slow down, linger a little longer, and savor the moment.
