Revitalizing public sidewalk intersections. Northwest corner of Prospect Park West and Prospect Avenue. This is the corner where Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt get bagels at what used to be Regina’s Bakery but is now Hilltop Restaurant. Jack Nicholson’s character cannot step on cracks and he comes to the redbrick sidewalk of PPW more southern part south of the park. It’s the last scene before the credits with Holy Name Church across the street which is having its corner a new look.

Has anyone else had the experience of getting sick, testing for Covid at home (rapid antigen test) and coming up serially negative, only to go in for a genetic test and having it positive? Mine started off as diarrhea, a day feeling fine, then a light, compulsive cough, a day of feeling fine, then a sudden spike in fever and serious, bruising pain all over the body. Bed. Cough got real with wheezing, with sneezing and runny nose. And I beg you: If you're sick, mask. If you are coughing, you are making your fellow humans ill.
What happened to them? I feel like they have super fallen off in the last few years? The food is borderline inedible - and the prices are insane.
We just moved into a multi-family rowhouse in Kensington and have a front door that opens out into the street. The neighborhood is very quiet and residential with lots of kids playing outside, and it's making me excited for the possibility that I might get to give out candy on Halloween for the first time ever. (I'm also pregnant and love the idea that I might get to TAKE my kid trick or treating around here in a few years!). But I know trick or treating is less popular in America than it used to be overall -- am I getting my hopes up?

In my newish and small neighorhood sub (1.5K) one unstable person's personal attacks against another (apparently equally unstable) person is making my mod life miserable. The harasser keeps creating accounts to target the other, and is bombarding our sub. I ban as fast as I can but they just create another account. Now they have created a new sub with a very similar name to ours to target the other person. I can find no way on Reddit to Report an entire sub. Any advice appreciated.
Mod here. If you notice any user/s targeting anyone in very personal attacks, please report their posts and comments (click the three little dots to the top left of a post). Our little sub is the unfortunate battleground for a very toxic and unhinged attack on one person by another, who is creating multiple accounts and even a sub dedicated to the subject. Both people seem unstable, but I am not their psychiatrist. Help me out, neighbors.

Man "walking" a dog by making it run beside his Citibike. The mixed-breed medium-size brown dog looked like it had Staffie genes. Exhausted. This guy rode past another dude walking two dogs and announced that he, Citibiker, was a professional dog walker - is how I know. If this is your dog, this is not how to walk your dog. Dogs are not designed to run without pause. Hot, high humidity.,heat up from tarmac. It's cruel.

As a Mod of a small group, I have limited time. Just like you. The last couple of posts about Poetica have been heated for reasons we are all familiar with. Read the rules. Disagree all you want. I went to Zen Dentistry at Union Square to fix a loose filling. I walked in feeling fine and walked out with a quote for $10K, told I needed many crowns. Shell shock. They began work on one and my teeth have remained painful. There was no pain before I went in. I am now very, very stressed and feel that this may just be a scam to get insurance money. Does anyone know a good, solid dentist who will have the integrity to offer a second opinon? I live in South BK but can travel.
So I got a traffic ticket and am trying to plead it online within the stipulated 15 days. I have tried three days in a row. I want to plead Not Guilty and Schedule a Hearing (one of three options). When I try to do that I get a message that there are no available openings to plead it, with a number to call for assistance. When you call that DMV phone number there are only automated info choices. So there is no way to respond or plead and the 15 days are ticking away. There is one more option: to MAIL it in. This is Byzantine, but does anyone know if this is what I should do?
