Against Retsu he seemed to be knocked out cold, yet when Retsu went for the kill he instantly got up and inverted the odds
Versus Pickle as well, as soon as Pickle picked up his sword he got up as if he weren't even damaged in the first place
Been a while since I finished reading it, I think it was a 7/10 arc, I feel like I'm very close to understanding the point of it although I'm still confused as to what the ending means,
Maybe Sukune letting go of his pride as the heir of Nomi no sukune and fighting for the fun of it?
What's the general consensus on this arc
there is no Musashi vs Swat, it would be top tier. also no maximum tournament fights because TOO MANY PEOPLE LARP
This is something I've been thinking about since I finished the baki dou anime.
I've always loved Baki for both the ridiculousness of its fights and the themes of its story.
I've been an anime only despite usually reading the manga, yet Musashi arc brought me to read all of Sumo and I'm starting to pick the manga up from the very beginnings.
This arc completely blew my mind in a way only a few other shows have
I think it's perfect or close to perfect, a clean 10/10
Baki dou perfects Baki's absurdity and narrative while keeping it entertaining for every single episode.
It feels like a proper epilogue, the fighters are all bored after witnessing pretty much the greatest fight of all time,
then Tokugawa does his most morally reprehensible thing yet by bringing back Musashi Miyamoto and DAMN
Baki's Musashi is not just my favourite Baki character but also my favourite Musashi interpretation, I have never seen such a perfect character design
He's got an unwavering expression, intimidating yet calm snake eyes, wavy hair a proper samurai body (he's tall 5'1, just like in real life) and a perfect stance, as if he were ready to handle any and every every situation.
I really like his personality. A savage yet calm warrior from the past, ready to test the modern day.
The fact his stance never changes always kept me on edge, it constantly got me thinking "what is he going to do next?".
Itagaki clearly cared a lot about making Musashi historically realistic and I appreciate it very much.
He also looks more and more depraved as the story continues, which adds to the passive tension.
I'm a sucker for history so I might be a bit biased but Imo he's extremely entertaining,
the way he interacts with modern day and reacts to the world are very interesting.
This arc executes stakes PERFECTLY. The story always feels like it's going upwards and not slowing down anytime soon:
-Musashi gets revived, toys with Baki and Doppo. The difference in culture and mindset is clear and Motobe tries to protect the fighters.
-Musashi kills Retsu, everyone realizes how dangerous he really is, as things with the nation escalate.
-Musashi seeks out Pickle and attacks anyone preventing him from fighting Pickle.
-Motobe fails to kill Musashi, Musashi goes on to kill the cops, Musashi is loose.
-Musashi kills more cops and fights Hanayama who he tries to kill before Baki steps in.
-Final fight, Musashi's spirit is sent back.
Despite all being againstthe same swordsman (with the exception of Jack vs Motobe) I find all these fights to be in my baki top 10
The things they try against the overpowered Musashi, the unexpected developments the characterization, seriously I loved all of them one after the other.
My favourite is probably Musashi versus SWAT, It shouldn't have been as good as it turned out.
It shows how Musashi fought in war, coming out of the shadows to slice up the leader, until he's built up enough fear to order his enemies around.
This is when the stakes peak, and Musashi's true nature as a warrior is on full display.
Our fighters will have to understand the fundamental difference between them and Musashi.
Their difference in mindset creates a huge disconnect, Musashi is used to death duels where you're not expected to see another day, while the fighters; despite preaching readiness to die, all want to fight another day, as shown by Retsu's heartbreaking death.
Musashi is history and shouldn't be here, he has already given what he had to the world.
The fighters initially greet him as a tool to satisfy their selfishness, before realizing he needs to GO.
I think the ending to the arc is perfect.
Yeah, Baki vs Musashi would've been such a cool fight to see through but then it would take away from the overall message;
Of the pasts' dangers and of our warped perception of it.
Sure, there are other themes but this is already too long and I think I explained myself well enough.
I LOVE this arc, it's on par with Chimera ant and Berserk's Golden age for me.
What are your thoughts on it? Don't hold back any criticism
Spoilers by the way
Paranoia agent- Off needs to thank Paranoia agent most for its iconic main character.
Paranoia agent is a 2004 anime about societal paranoia, the main mystery and villain is a being known as Lil slugger (Shonen bat) who appears out of nowhere and assaults anyone who seeking a way out of their circumstances
>!Lil slugger and The batter are both enigmatic beings with a baseball based design,!<
>!their form is shaped by others' perceptions of them (not exactly in lil slugger's case)!<
>!They both represent a form of escapism, freeing people from the burden of life although unlike Lil slugger The Batter's actions are actually quite justifiable for Off's world SUCKS.!<
And then there were none- also known as ..uhh.. nevermind.
It's a 1939 crime novel by Agatha Christie.
10 people are tricked into getting trapped on an island, one by one they die until no one's left.
The inspiration here comes from the main twist, Mortis ghost does not go too much in detail but he's probably talking about the ending.
>!In the ending it's revealed The judge, Lawrence Wargrave was the murderer, killing out of a desire to serve justice for all his victims had done wicked things in the past.!<
>!It's self explanatory, The batter has a similar sense of justice and treats all his enemies as wicked seeking to purify them.!<
>!Could've also inspired the judge.!<

I finished the painful about a year ago, did pain mode in the definitive edition and beat every boss. It's one of those games called hard by many but which become really easy once you get a hang of the mechanics and map layout (fear and hunger)
Is there a way to make the game harder without any modding? maybe some interesting challenge
It's not supposed to be an advertisement post by the way I'm simply curious
Some explanations for the people wondering;
Jack is lawful neutral because despite being a beast in fights he acts like a gentleman and isn't considered a menace to society
Pickle is either chaotic neutral or true neutral because he doesn't have a real sense of good or evil and doesn't fight people unless provoked, though he still hunts animals in populated zones so I think he's more chaotic neutral.
Musashi is a warrior from a different time, in his era killing and duels were allowed, in his perspective the law enforcers were challengers in a death duel, nonetheless he's still far from good because he puts little value on human life and genuinely seeks blood at times.
i dont think yujiro ever cared about being good or evil he just does whatever he feels like since he's the strongest and nobody can do anything about it. He's either neutral evil or chaotic neutral
I don't want it to deviate too much from the original, something with more content and a small difficulty increase would be perfect
I'm currently watching the 2001 anime after watching and reading every other arc,
in most of the rankings and tierlists I see the first two major arcs (childhood and maximum tournament) are always very high if not the top picks.
I think it's very clear the story changed its direction a bit, do you think early Baki was better than mid-current Baki?
It has been a few months since I noticed my sound getting inconsistent, sometimes a note comes out well sometimes airy sometimes doesn't come out at all.
I sent my flute to get fix (since it was quite old anyway) and after getting it back I noticed pretty much no difference,
I have tried practicing everyday to fix this problem; doing notes slowly, transitioning octaves, trying to fix my embochure etc. yet it keeps coming out airy.
This is seriously killing my passion, what can I do to get a fluid, consistent sound?
I am 100%ing the game and getting S on all the levels in all the modes, in order to get S on androgen assault you need a time of 1 minute and 10 seconds which is impossible.
I have looked around on youtube and I haven't seen anyone actually doing that, how do I get that S rank?
