Scott and Connie should move in together and start a reality debate TV show!

For real! 15 debates is insufficient. I hereby demand to have Scott and Connie move in to a rent-controlled studio apartment in the TL together and livestream their lives 24/7 for us to be able to decide whom is the better candidate to be elected to a forever job that allows insider trading until they are worth three hundred million dollars while their constituents take out increasing amounts of medical debt.

Fuck the debates, let's get some reality TV happening!

36F laid off from big tech in Jan — Leaving Bay Area with ~$4M but still scared.

Throwaway. 36F single, 12 years in big tech, laid off by Meta in January. The Bay Area’s insane cost of living is forcing me out.

I have ~$4M in taxable brokerage (and much of it is capital gain, subject to tax) + $60k cash. I know I’m lucky, but the job market is terrible and I’m terrified I won’t find another role or that I can’t comfortably live off my assets long-term as a single person (especially housing).

Anyone else in a similar layoff/FIRE situation? How are you handling the anxiety and next steps?
Thanks.

How and when to add barrier support

Goal is anti-aging. My current routine is

AM: Cetaphil cleanser, timeless 20% Vit C, LRP UVmume 400

Afternoon: Around 3 pm or so when I’m home; cleanse and thin layer of BoJ Dynasty cream (Costco edition)

Night time: Retinal (medik8 level 24 which I’m tolerating well since I’ve built it from lower levels of the same product)

I got 0.025% Tret prescription. Brand is Retin-A and want to start using it (swapping out the retinal).

Afraid of peeling or acne so I got the Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream as recommended in this sub.

Should I apply the Illiyoon Ceramide 15 mins after Tret?

Or should I only put Tret at night and use Illiyoon Ceramide at earlier times such as in the afternoon (swapping out BoJ dynasty cream) or am (before sunscreen)?

🌮 How much are you paying for tacos, Bay Area? (Looking for recs)

🌮 So for the past couple of months, I’ve basically just been eating my way through different taco spots across the Peninsula and Santa Clara Co.

I started tracking the prices out of pure curiosity, and somehow I ended up going through a rabbit hole that ended up in this fun side project haha 😂

This is far from a peer-reviewed economic study, but I've been mapping out the averages and absolute price ranges across a solid handful of local spots to see what our bay area purchasing power looks like right now.

For June, the overall average across these areas sits right at $3.98

Mountain View: Definitely the most wallet-friendly so far, averaging $3.57 (ranging from $3.19 to $3.85).

Redwood City: Holding the line for a solid cheap lunch with an average of $3.69 (ranging from $2.75 to $4.18).

San Mateo: $4.16 (ranging from $3.00 to $4.65).

Palo Alto: Absolutely painful. Highest average ( $4.52), and some baseline spots hitting as high as $5.46 for a single taco.

I definitely want to expand the list of restaurants for a future update to get a way better sample size, so please let me know what your favorite spots are!

Hit me with your recommendations—especially for Palo Alto, where it's been a bit hit-or-miss for me.

Oh and as far as favorites: Los Naranjos in Redwood City is top of my ranking! 🏆

Chart attached below!

CLEERLY™ VS. HEARTFLOW ™ VS. SITE READ IN THE PER-VESSEL PREDICTION OF ADENOSINE FFR≤0.80 WITH PLAQUE FEATURES ASSOCIATED WITH FALSE POSITIVES:

Came across this study comparing Cleerly and Heartflow. Has anyone done a CCTA and then had the images analyzed by these 2 different AIs?
