Got informed today I will be getting laid off at the end of June. The job market is rough right now, where’s everyone going for benefits/assistance if it comes to that? My husband is employed but it doesn’t make very much. We both have retirement funds we can pull, but I’m not sure how long those would last after taxes.
Bruh I found this dead bug in my newly cycled 20 gallon that I JUST added fish to. It was definitely dead and also solid, so not a molt. All my plants were either propagated from my personal tanks, bought from a reputable LFS, or ordered from one Etsy shop and bleach dipped.
If it is a dragonfly nymph (I’m horrified), could there be more? What do I look for? It currently has a honey gourami and 10 cherry shrimp, but I’m also adding CPDs and Pygmy cories at the end of the week, and the CPDs are TOO EXPENSIVE to waste on a dragonfly nymph.
I’m hoping it’s a lost spider but I have no idea 😔
My new insurance has decided that my CPAP resupply products aren’t covered. I can’t pay $500 for airline tubing and elastic.
Anyone know the best places to get that stuff cheaper? I know there has to be somewhere better than $500.
I already know what works for me, so I’m just genuinely curious.
For background: I was dxed with KC in fall of 2024, by the time I got crosslinking, my vision was 20/600. I wear scleral lenses full time.
I tend to be able to wear my scleral lenses from 6:30 am when I get up to get ready (there’s no way I’m getting ready without them in lol) until I go to bed around 11 pm. That makes total wear time 16.5 hours. I rarely have to remove and reinsert unless I get an eyelash in my eye or my allergies are bad.
Is this abnormally long wear? Anyone else get this long of wear? Genuinely just curious how long people are able to wear their lenses for. Wasn’t sure if I just have an exceptionally good fit and tolerance or if more people wear this long lol.
FWIW, my optometrist is aware and says unless I’m having issues it’s fine.
Anyone know of any communications/PR/marketing/ect jobs in the area? I’m looking for my next move after some changes at my current job that no longer reflect my alignment or direction.
I’ve got around a decade in communications, including journalism, PR, and marketing.
Or does anyone know any networking events/job fairs coming up? The market is horrendous right now, and if I felt I could avoid jumping ship, I would.

20 gallon planted tank, fishless cycle, dosing Fritz Fishless fuel. I’m on day 24.
I was at nearly 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and high nitrate. Did a partial water change, re dosed 2 ppm. Got through it in 2 days, water change, dose again. I still can’t clear 2 ppm in 24 hrs. I was at 1 ppm last night. Dosed 1 more ppm, and here’s where I’m at tonight. Am I doing something wrong?
Day 18 cycling my freshwater tank. Fishless cycle, dosing Fritz ammonia. I did a 50% water change Sunday bc my nitrates were way over 100 and nitrites were high. Dosed ammonia to 2 ppm again yesterday. What are we thinking? I’m still seeing .25 ammonia today and trace nitrites. Maybe a few more days?
Going to do a small change today to bring down nitrates and dose ammonia again.
