He thought that one cone was enough

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I counted one cone and a whole lot of bad judgment. He should’ve had a proper taper set up with at least 8 to 12 cones spaced out leading traffic over before they got anywhere near him. One cone sitting next to the truck ain’t traffic control, it’s decoration. That kind of lazy setup is exactly how somebody gets clipped because drivers don’t have enough warning to merge safely. Fool was one distracted driver away from causing a real bad day.

What's the thought process here

Common sense would say that if the car does detach, that's it. The cars ruined, broken and not paid for. Know when to cut your losses and not look like a jackass. We all struggle to pay bills. This is just shameful.
