Hot Garage. Am I SOL?

The only place (for now) to use my F2 Ultra is in the garage. It's 90 degrees in there during the day. I left it on (not running) for a few hours and when I was setting it up to engrave, I saw an Isolater overheating warning. I saw a post about it and xtools responded saying it was a software issue. I know it's hot but should the warning be on even before it's running or is it really a software issue?

Best laser for coins?

I’d like to get started on engraving items to sell to youth baseball leagues. My main focus for now will start with engraving bats and making high-quality coins with name, team logo etc. What kind of laser would work to make 20 coins over a weekend?

Healing Pec Tendon

42M. I have an old tendon injury that has flared up if I do several pushups (15ish). It's more of a dull soreness that I feel the next day. I've heard Isometric therapy can help the healing process by loading the tendon. My question is how do I go about this? Should I just hold the pushup position at say 10% of the way down for x amount of time 2-3 times a day? Is that enough of a load to promote healing?

Broke through my stall

I was stalled for a few weeks. I was eating 2 meals a day ( breakfast and dinner) which included eggs, butter, sardines with some mayo, red meat, some sour cream and a few tbs of heavy cream a week. My rough calorie count was probably around 1500 and even less on some days. Energy was somewhat stable but not where I needed to be.

Now I’m strict carnivore OMAD. Most of the time I eat between 10am and 2pm. 90% of what I eat is steak and the rest is eggs, ground beef, and a little butter. The times I eat twice, I still stick to my 10-2 window. So far I’ve lost 8lbs over 3weeks. No energy loss, and as long as my OMAD meal is big enough, zero hunger late at night.

Oroville public range was gtg

I arrived this past Thursday at 9am. There were only 2 other groups there. I lased the last burm at 556yds from the third table. Only paper targets allowed which sucks since I would love to use steel but oh well.

There is no overhead cover, so you will bake in the sun if you plan on shooting for a while and don’t bring any shade. I would also check the wind ahead of time if that matters to you.

This will probably be my go to spot for midrange shooting. I don’t know what it’s like on weekends, but overall it beats sac valley which only goes to 300 for non members.

Considering going from 29 to 49

I currently have a 29 inch ultra wide but still use my laptop for teams/email/browsing. For those with a 49inch screen, are you able to ditch the laptop screen and use it for everything you need on the one screen?

Which Toyota dealership has the best reputation?

My sister is dead set on a 2026 Rav4 and is chomping at the bit to buy. I'm helping her not get screwed over. Which Toyota dealerships are least scummy? I know they're all bad, so I'm really asking which is the least worse?

Stuffy nose after expander removal

Had my expander removed two days ago and the extra airflow is slightly irritating me. My sinuses are stuffed. Anyone experienced this before? I’m wondering how long I can expect this to last?

They make you feel guilty but never look at themselves as to why people leave

I recently took a new position that is effectively a promotion with a significant pay increase.

In my exit interviews, they expressed how caught off guard they were at my departure and HR guilt tripped me HARD which as somewhat amusing.

I'm the second recent departure from a small-ish team. the one before was my manager. It was a big deal when he left. The truth is my manager was done dirty when the CEO attempted to blacklist him with our competitors after he announced his departure. I had a good relationship with him and knew he left out of frustration.

I worked with some talented people who deserve more money and/or better roles. We are remote, so I think it's an out of sight out of mind situation since managers don't really talk to us with any frequency. At least that's my takeaway from the whole situation. Hopefully for my ex colleagues, management will be more proactive in the future.

Leaving for a competitor but it's possible I may handle work for previous, existing, or future clients of my ex company

I have this text in an employee agreement that applies 12 months after my exit.

Solicit, divert or handle, or attempt to solicit, divert or handle, services from any clients or prospective clients with which Employee had contact while employed by ex company;

My industry is a very small world, and clients often work with multiple service providers on a single project. To be clear I will NOT be a part of the solicitation portion only technical work, but the word "Handle" in the agreement is what would seem hard to enforce??

Anyone have success on lowish fat to get rid of belly/visceral fat

I've stalled after losing 10lbs which was probably mostly water weight. I've been hovering around 172-174lbs for a month. I'm a 5'8'' male.

I've been eating steak (1-1.25lb ny strip and 3/4lb rib eyes)

home-made olive oil mayo with tuna.

eggs with plenty of butter (usually 4 eggs with roughly 35 grams of butter)

sardines packed in olive oil. I eat a jar and it's labeled to have 420 calories drained but I dip it in the oil.

tea with a splash (yes, just a splash) of cream twice a week but that has recently dropped off to maybe once a week

Sour cream (4-5ish tbs with 3/4-1lb of seasoned ground beef once or twice (max) a week.

I eat twice a day and when I have measured calories it's rarely above 1500 and usually closer to 1200. I have a really hard time eating more, but the weight is still not coming off. My energy since starting around 2 months ago is generally the same

I'm guessing I probably have 20+ pounds of belly/waist/visceral fat to lose. I look pretty normal in my arms/legs/upper torso, so almost all of the excess fat is in my midsection. I've heard it's good to go lowish fat for a bit with zero dairy. Anyone have this experience and went lowish fat no dairy for a few weeks/months with success?

Vent: I decided to just leave

I just accepted an offer at another corp. It was a huge jump in pay and a better role, but this is more about how they dropped the ball with my manager and the after effects.

Over the years at my current job certain issues were brought up during various meetings with upper management and during 1on1's with HR. Others and I brought up how we need more people and a system in place to do our work effectively (we're a software company), but it fell on deaf ears.

The thing that really got me thinking about leaving is my previous managers experience. He was asking for the same changes I and others brought up. He was a great advocate for us. He ended up leaving and when I talked to him after his departure, he made it clear nothing was going to change. This was someone that was there for a long time, was very well liked, and tried to do the right thing every day. I know they tried hard to retain him, but I think he got jaded and just decided to bounce to a new job without looking back. This is someone who had huge institutional knowledge. He had his fingers in many ongoing projects, and definitely left a void at our company. He was simply not supported and was asked to do way too much. We needed add in some tech, formulte sop's and hire more staff to formally fill roles that he tried his best to do in addition to his management duties, but it never happened. I don't blame him for leaving.

I later found out the CEO tried to blacklist him from our competitors that provide the same services. Our industry is a small world and many of our competitors know each other and sometimes work together. I myself know several people who work for competitors. I don't know if our competitors would have honored the CEO's request, and my ex manager never said if he was actually rejected by a competitor because of the attempted black list, but he now works outside the industry. Either way the attempt still put a sour taste in my mouth.

Soon after I put out some feelers with old contacts. Eventually, I was recommended to a company that needed someone to fill a new role the company had just created and it perfectly suited my expertise. My research and calls with management were very positive. I didn't have to go through the crappy initial first call with a recruiter. I first spoke to my new manager and then to the wider team. Both calls were informal and very very positive. I had informally done work that fit what they were looking for. I was given an offer right away without having to go through any other formal interviews. I sat on it for a short time, but could not think of a reason to not take it, so I did. No job is perfect and I'm under no illusions that everything will be puppies and rainbows. At this point I am just trying to make as much money as possible and do my work as best I can.

After resigning, HR is asked what they need to do to retain me and what went wrong. I didn't say anything that could burn bridges except I could not pass up the offer. They were nice and seem to be honest and intentional with their efforts to retain me, but after sleeping on it, I am not coming back.

The more I think about it, the more frustrating it is. Just a few hires, and changes to how we go about our work would have kept my manager on board and things running they way they should. I know they have the money to do it since they have announced new hires in other departments. Others who work on my team feel like they were let down when my former manager left. There is no indication things will change, so I just left ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Any moving company recs that can move a 600lb Safe?

Home depot messed up and could not place my 600lb safe into my house. It's sitting in my garage and they would not take it back, so I'm stuck. Anyone have a moving company rec that can place my safe inside my house?

Sardines!

I’m on my latest round of strict carnivore and I finally added sardines to the mix. It’s been a game changer for me since I struggle to eat enough fat since even adding moderate amounts of butter with meat or cream to my tea can upset my stomach. I’ve had zero cream or any other dairy besides butter in the last two weeks. The best added fat meal I can tolerate is extra butter with scrambled eggs

Even when I eat ribeyes my ketones to glucose ratios (gki) are on the lower moderate side which is definitely still good but the weight loss is very slow and I’ve stalled for the last 3 weeks. I’ve supplemented sardines with steak for my last two meals: 1.5lb rib eye and 8 sardines last night and 1/2lb ribeye and another 8 sardines this morning. My last two ketone/glucose readings have been 3.1/91 and 4.2/82 both today. The first was 2hrs after eating this morning and the last was 5hrs after eating this morning. Previously my readings were typically .5-.1.8 for ketones and high 90’s to low 100’s for glucose. I’ve had large fatty red meat meals (1.5-2lbs) at least 5 times a week and supplement fats (butter or coconut oil) if the meat is too lean but ketones/glucose readings never do what sardines do. Since last night/today energy feels better!

Sac County CCW renewal timeline

Renewal Class: 5/3/26
Application Submission: 5/5/26
Approval: 5/11/26

Edit: I submitted after 5pm Tuesday and I’m sure most people who took the class on that (5/2 or 5/3) weekend submitted before me. So if you get your application submitted right away after the class, you may see the approval by Tuesday. If you’re outside of Sac county, it’s probably different.
