Brushes down on this morning sunlit forest meadow painting. This is a scene from a recent walk in a little park near my construction job sites one morning last week. I hope yall enjoy the finishing touches! 12x16” oil on linen.

4am session this morning getting started on the second layer of this sunlit forest meadow piece. A couple more sessions to go! 12x16” oil on linen.

In the past year or so I’ve absolutely become obsessed with painting forests. Usually with a strong sense of morning or afternoon light, or nocturnes. These are all oil paintings. Happy scrolling!

I got into the studio at 330 this morning, and was able to get the whole canvas covered on this quiet woodland meadow scene. This first layer isn’t far from the finished piece. I will likely just add some thick paint here and there, and make a few adjustments on the next pass. 12x16” oil on linen.

A bit of an emotional night for our house last night. It was our little boys first night sleeping alone in his room. I had a glass of bourbon and his baby monitor next to my palette during this underpainting session… 12x16” oil on linen. WIP.

My first dabble at plein air. This was just a little get my feet wet session in my backyard, but it was so enjoyable and freeing. I can’t wait to scout out some more interesting locations. 5x7” oil on linen.

WIP. Another 4am session on this one. The metal part in the left foreground was really fun to paint. Enjoying the challenge and change of subject for me so far. 16x20” oil on linen.
