I recently came across a few listings for 3K + sq ft triplex units at Mont Kiara Pelangi, with asking prices of around RM400 psf.
I've done some research on the development and although it was completed in 1994, it seems to have a reputation as one of the best-built condos in MK. From what I've read, it's also by the same developer behind Aman and Damai, and the management also seems to have maintained the property quite well over the years.
My only concern is its age. I already expect to renovate the interior to give it a more modern look, but I'm wondering if there are other issues I should be prepared for especially with a triplex unit. Are there any common structural, waterproofing, plumbing, electrical, or other major building issues that could end up costing a lot in the future?
My plan is to buy it as my own home and live there for at least the next 7–10 years, not as an investment property or rental.
