Hotter take: we should be allowed to admit that the events and breadth of content have taken a dive in recent patches (versions?). Stating this is controversial for some reason, as there’s always a vocal group of people who will talk your ear off about how these braindead events actually works for them, requiring nothing of their time and effort. And that’s cool. I’m happy that this game respects your hectic schedule with your five jobs and twenty children by not requiring you to play it. We should all have the luxury to not play games we dont like playing (oh wait… we do). But that’s not the argument isnt it?

I miss the museum event. I miss ghost catching. I miss the wardance. And just so its clear I am NOT asking Hoyo to construct these dense plot driven quests every patch, I also just miss combat events outside of endgame and CW/DU with unique mechanics that lets us play with our characters in novel ways. Not every event needs to be three hours of dialogue, but simple combat events have fallen away too.

Is there really no middle ground we can achieve between the Wardance, and this useless, forgettable auto playing slop that are neither fun, engaging, or expands the lore of this universe (I am so sick of these imaginary creatures yapping at me, please stop). Why is admitting that the content quality lately is abysmal, and calling for better, the same as wanting to spend every waking moment with HSR to the point we’re losing sleep and sacrificing our relationships and wellbeing, when nobody is asking for that? So telling us that “there are other games you know hurr hurr” is not the dunk you think it is, because me putting 100 hours into Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth doesnt actually address the issue of HSR HAVING REALLY BAD AND BORING CONTENT THAT’S OVER AFTER FOUR HOURS OF PLAYING THE PATCH… which might not be a problem for you workaholics who oddly resent this game, but I DO genuinely like playing it. Not to the point of consuming my life. Just enough. Is that so wrong?

At least YOU have the option to simply not play these time consuming events, but WE dont have the option to play better quality and fun events unless we demand it. Cant comprehend how that’s so offensive.

I feel like that was the moment the devs fully committed to making him a Saber bot, or at least a supportive sub DPS to a high energy main DPS (…Argenti Novaflare perhaps? Do I dare cope?). What possible reason could there possibly be to yank out a modern ult DPS’s most important feature? Even Blade has energy storage, and he isnt even a committed “ult DPS” the way Gil is. They pulled him ten steps back for no reason… unless the point of him wasnt to stand as his own character, but to just “exist” beside the main character, where HIS ult spam isnt meant to be the focal point. Just sad how much they whittled him down again and again from the start. They could have at least added it back into an eidolon too, but nope.

As opposed to now.. a weak old man on his wheelchair wheezing and heaving as he struggles to propel himself forward, unaware of the strangers kindly pushing him onward one foot at a time. Then when he finally arrives at his destination he’s drenched in sweat and needs a brief nap to recharge himself, only to restart the process all over again. The way allies “offered” their actions to him and compelled him to act after receiving enough was so perfect thematically. This lurching speed demon method just feels so lame in comparison… if they didnt murder his kit, they murdered his image..

Regardless I guess i’m farming that 3 year old domain for the rest of my life. So many characters I’ve famed BiS sets for only to switch to wind set later cause everyone wants actions now sigh
