The S4 Mk3 is a better controller than the DDJ1000.

The S4 Mk3 is a better controller than the DDJ1000.

I found myself longing to go back to Pioneer about 6
months ago. So I sold my S4 Mk3 to buy a DDJ1000.

I’ve had both already multiple times and felt I wanted bigger jogs and auto beat sweep FX from one button like most Pioneer stuff has.

Straight off the bat - the sound quality is nowhere near as good as the S4. The Ozone maximizer just adds sparks to the music. It never sounds overbearing and always clean at higher volumes on my Rokit 5 Classics.
Then there’s the software. Rekordbox is an absolute pile of steaming turd. It’s brutal on my MacBooks CPU and RAM and the mixes DRIFT. I feel I’m constantly touching the platters with the DDJ.

One thing I will say in the favour of the DDJ is that the headphone volume of S4 is just too low.
That is literally my only gripe.

I cannot believe that a used S4 with a flight case is half the price of the DDJ.

Are people just sucked in to the Pioneer hype?

Rockshox Zeb Ultimate 2.1 lower leg service oil?

I’m doing a service on the lower legs of my mates Zebs at the weekend but he’s left it too late to have any kits delivered before then. The seals are only 4 months old so it’s not worth replacing them for the amount of riding he’s doing.

Are there any alternatives to the Maxima Light and Heavy oils he needs?

It’s my understanding that the Light is 0w30t and the heavy for the air spring is 30wt.

Are there any better or the same alternatives to the manufacturer recommended stuff?

We’re in England where the weather isn’t great most of the time, so is it worth using a lighter weight?

How do I change career at 45 years old?

I’ve been in manufacturing for most of my working life, with the odd warehouse job in-between. I’m good at every job I’ve been at, rarely call in sick, rarely get into trouble, yet I’m always overlooked for promotions that are given to people based on time served, rather than suitability.

I’m at the point now where I’ve realised I’m never going to progress and I’m just stagnating. I’m getting older and the jobs are getting harder.

It wouldn’t be so bad if it paid well, but my employer gives us 15p over minimum wage (£12.86) per hour, for what is a physically demanding job with an hourly target that has to be met.

I can’t leave because I have no savings whilst I look for another job.
I’ve looked at getting into Health & Safety but I’m unsure if the NEBOSH qualifications will be enough to slot into another job.

I’ve also applied for customer service jobs in the Civil Service that I’ve been rejected for at the first stage and I’ve looked at IT jobs that just seem out of my reach.

In an ideal world I’d love to be a bicycle mechanic because it’s something I’m passionate about and I’m VERY good at, but again, I’ve got no certs and they cost ££££’s.

I am open to literally anything apart from care.

Has anyone made a leap from one job to another.

Just why…? On EBay of all places…

People throwing silly bids at a replica T-Shirt.
This is a dispute waiting to happen.

What is the correct etiquette when a lap dance is finished?

Do I just walk out of the room and put my clothes back on?

Only joking.

Me and my work colleagues were talking about this, though.

On my stag night out years ago, my brother dragged me into a local “gentleman’s club” and insisted I got a lap dance and that my SISTER - of all people - had given him money to set it up.

I’d have rather just had the cash and bought some drinks but before I knew it, I was in a room with a naked woman hoying her bits all over me.

It was the most awkward 2 minutes of my life.

When the performance ended I got out of the chair, said “cheers, love…” and went to shake her hand.

I’ve since been told that it’s definitely not the way to do it.

£30. I saw her foof, and she wouldn’t even shake my hand at the end.

Schwalbe Magic Mary Radial Trail Super Soft Compound Tyre…

Didn’t want to buy the Gravity casing as it’s on the front and apparently the Trail is similar or equal to the Exo+ Assegai I’ve been using.
I’ve taken it out of the box and the sidewall feels like plastic! Haha.
I’ve set it up tubeless and it feels less plasticky now, but it looks somewhat slimmer than the 2.5 Assegai…and now I’m regretting my life choices.

This thing better be an improvement or I’ve just wasted £72!

How much is too much power?

The UCI have suspended their ebike category next race season because they’re seeing power increases that they never anticipated.

Superbikes went the same way in the very late 90’s/early 2000’s when Suzuki released the Hayabusa.
That time round, manufacturers agreed to a speed restriction before a blanket was introduced by government bodies.

I’ve got a feeling this will go the same way.

I’m riding a Gen 3 Spesh Turbo Levo. 90nm is enough.
