We Heard You: Launching ThePopularCompany 3.0 — Built on Your Feedback, With More to Come

What’s the most unexpectedly magical travel moment you’ve ever had?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how travel feels so commercialized these days—same crowded landmarks, pricey tickets, and curated photo-ops everywhere.

But honestly, my best memories weren’t at famous sites. They were the random, unplanned ones: stumbling onto an unmarked mountain trail, sharing a home-cooked meal in a tiny countryside village, or sitting by a lake swapping stories with strangers.

For example, I live in Udaipur, India, and while most visitors only see the palaces, my favorite spot is a quiet ridge in the Aravalli hills where the sunset paints the valley in silence. No crowds, no tickets—just pure nature.

So, I’m curious: what was your hidden gem or unforgettable travel moment?

Roast my digital agency's website. We claim we "refuse to be boring." Are we delivering?

I’m the founder of The Popular Company (thepopularcompany.com). We are a team of marketers and developers trying to stand out in a ridiculously crowded market.

Our pitch is that we engineer digital presences that stop the scroll, handle everything from influencer marketing to performance ads, and absolutely refuse to be a boring corporate agency.

I need you to tear our website apart.

  • If you were a local business owner looking for a marketing partner, would you trust us based on this site?
  • Is the navigation clear?
  • Does the blog section ("Solving the Commoner's Problems") actually add authority, or should we move it?

Let me have it. I want to know exactly why you wouldn't hire us based on our homepage.

I built an edgy, "anti-boring" site for my digital agency (thepopularcompany.com). Does the bold design work, or does it hurt the UX?

Hey everyone,

I run a digital marketing agency out of Udaipur, India called The Popular Company (TPC), and we just revamped our website:thepopularcompany.com

We wanted to move away from the sterile, boring corporate agency look and go for something much bolder ("We make brands popular," scrolling marquees, dark mode vibes).

I'd love your brutal, honest feedback on the UI/UX:

  1. The "TPC Labs" section: Near the bottom, we built a "Top Secret" area styled like a casino for creators. Is this a fun Easter egg that adds personality, or is it distracting/confusing?
  2. Copywriting Tone: We use aggressive phrasing like getting a "brutal, precision CRO teardown." Does this come across as confident, or is it trying too hard?
  3. Performance/Mobile: Do the scroll effects and animations feel smooth on your device, or are they getting in the way of readability?

Don't hold back. If something looks chaotic or breaks your user experience, please let me know!

Let’s talk about "slow travel"—what is your ultimate hidden gem that tourists completely miss?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how commercialized travel has become. It feels like every travel group, vlog, and blog is just pushing the same 10 crowded viewpoints, expensive entry fees, and curated photo-ops.

For me, the best travel memories have never been the famous landmarks. They’ve been the completely random, uncurated moments—finding an unmarked mountain trail, sharing a home-cooked meal in a quiet countryside village, or just sitting by a lake with a few strangers sharing life stories.

I live in Udaipur, India, and whenever people come here, they only see the crowded palaces. But my absolute favorite spot is a quiet, unnamed ridge in the nearby Aravalli hills where you can watch the sunset over the valley with nothing but the sound of the wind. No tickets, no crowds, just raw nature.

I want to hear your stories.

👋 Welcome to r/CommunityOverCurated - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

What this place is, and why it exists

I'm Garv. I started building a slow-travel, communal-living experience in my hometown of Udaipur — hiking, communal cooking, acoustic music, digital detox, minimal fees, arriving as strangers and leaving as something closer to family. Partway through building it, I realized the idea mattered to me more than the place, and that there were probably people doing versions of this everywhere who'd never found each other.

That's this sub.

  • If you're a seeker: ask questions, share what you're looking for, tell us what "real" travel has meant to you before. No pressure to book anything, ever.
  • If you're a host or building toward being one: you're welcome to share what you're doing, always clearly labeled as yours. This isn't a place to compete for attention — it's a place to compare notes.
  • If you're just curious: stick around. Read the wiki. See if this way of traveling is something you want.

Curious specifically about what I'm running in Udaipur? Ask below or check my profile — always disclosed, never hidden.
