Visiting my biological great aunt…

Hey, I’m adopted and I’m going to my biological great aunt’s place to get genealogy work because I don’t know my bio parents genealogy and this is my one chance and I was wondering what other questions I should ask her?

Additional information: I haven’t seen her since I was 5 and I’m 19 now

Lyrics to the song:

I thought you loved me
I thought you cared
But now, I see!
I was just a toy to make you happy

Dispose of me
Get rid of filth
I won’t be a toy anymore

Cost of freedom
Costed me them
But look how far I’ve come
Better me than a clone

Dispose of me
Get rid of filth
I won’t be a toy anymore

Mom of 5
Disowned 2
Couldn’t be me
Now I’ll find him

Dispose of me
Get rid of filth
I won’t be a toy anymore

My adoptive parents are messed up and it took 15 years to realized that

So me and my older sibling were in the foster care system when I was 4 years old and I was in this particular family took us in and adopted me and my sibling when I was 8. I don’t remember much as a child it’s just fragments of memories up until I was a 5th grader (I use grades to help me with keeping track of time) and I remember my adoptive parents comparing me to my sibling by saying stuff like “Don’t be like (sibling)” or “You’re just like (sibling)” which made me go into such a panic that I basically started to hallucinate things DURING my panic attacks… and I thought this was normal behaviour. So I was talking to some of my friends during high school and literally all of them agreed that it was NOT normal. Somehow my parents found out that I was talking about them poorly and basically lecture me on it. I barely remember it but I just avoided all topics on home life or completely lie saying “It’s good”. There was this time where I wanted to do theatre but I couldn’t do theatre because “We don’t want you to be like your (sibling)” so I just cried when I was alone. The only teacher I know that knows this was my old IEP teacher and they were mad at my parents but didn’t tell them because we both knew that it would be worse if they knew. My parents never actually taught me skills I need for real life such as driving, cooking, or even cleaning (like deep cleaning). And it’s not like I didn’t want to know these skills, I’ve expressed that I want to know so I can be successful! And their response for the driving part “You need a job and keep the job for a year before we consider buying you a car” meanwhile they have 3 motorcycles 1 car in their name and even more vehicles that they are co signer for their children THEY birthed! And any time I complain about how I’ve been searching, since I was 16, for a nearby job, that I can walk to in 115F weather, doesn’t want to hire me and their response is “You just gotta keep looking”. At this point I want to run away but I physically cannot afford to do that! And no one wants to have me in their home for free, not even my parents, and they even said to me “I’m not gonna kick you out because you can’t survive on your own” which is true but I want to learn self sufficiency but they are not willing to teach me because “They are not required to do that”. I’m just venting here because I don’t feel safe doing it anywhere else.

My repressed childhood memories are terrifying…it

So… I personally don’t remember anything from kindergarten up to mid/late second grade and I only have one memory of third grade and no actual memories until the 5th grade. And a very good reason for that as well! I say this is because I was a foster kid from ages 4 up to 8 years of age. I was only in three foster homes before I was adopted in the 3rd home. And that’s one of my first memories that didn’t involve major or minor injuries. And according to my dad, one of my cousins (Calling them cuz for privacy reasons) tried to pull my pants off when I was younger and I immediately told my parents. From then on, I wasn’t allowed to be alone with cuz anymore. It honestly makes sense why I feel like I’m floating above my body more when I’m around cuz. I repressed that memory and it is still repressed. The only reason why I can tell it is because my dad literally told me this yesterday! I don’t have any recollection of ANY of this! That wasn’t the only thing that was repressed in my memories. A recent memory that showed itself a few days ago, was when one of my main bully (Calling him Jake for privacy reasons) was showing everyone in the classroom my address through a house website! I completely forgot Jake did that because I remember getting mad at him for doing that but the teacher told him to stop but nothing else! This just makes me wonder what other stuff I went through that my brain repressed…

One time I came out as Ace and my parents didn’t accept it at the first coming out!

Okay, so my parents are very religious (and I mean very). For some reason when the taught me the birds and the bees, I already knew because of my science teacher (It was apart of the curriculum). And I found the entire idea of it disgusting and I told my parents that and they’re like “You’ll find someone one day”. They kept saying that people have… that almost every day and that just grossed me out! Soon I realized I was Ace, told my parents and they didn’t believe me at first. Then time went on and now they accept that I didn’t have any feelings to begin with… so… yeah… HAPPY PRIDE!!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

My parents don’t think I’m autistic despite me getting an official diagnosis!

So my case manager from my mental health care team saw me having trouble with my memories and clearly having autistic symptoms. So he referred me to get tested for autism. Throughout the entire waiting period, (surprisingly it was a month long) my parents were trying to not get me to go to the doctor to get tested! Even at the last second my dad was saying stuff like “You’re just going to get more drugs” and stuff like that… I ignored him and got out to get tested… 10 days later, I got my results which was Autism, depression, and anxiety… not to mention that my ADHD kinda got crossed off the list of diagnosis (even though I was diagnosed with that from 5 to now). And since my results both of my parents are still saying that I tainted it! Which it’s kinda hard to do at a testing place like this… But it gotten to the point where I personally don’t know if I am or not despite the facts…

AITAH for getting Diagnosed with Autism

So, I was very recently diagnosed with autism and such. My parents kept telling me not to get assessed because “I was already got tested and I don’t have autism, I had ADHD” I did the assessment anyways just to be sure. Also the testing they did was through 5-8 years old. I got the assessment done and got the results back and turns out I have autism and not ADHD… my parents thinks I tainted the test somehow by knowing how to answer the questions. Which I did my research to prepare for the questions but I didn’t know how to answer majority of the questions tbh. So… AITAH?
