My Rainbow Baby's name

I am carrying my rainbow baby and its a boy! After losing my son Elias Nathaniel 4 days after birth due to congenital brain malformations not told to us early on I didnt think I could get past the trauma or, if a boy, find a new name.

Well ... we did it and the meaning ... *chef's Kiss*

I really really wanted to celebrate this name...

Gideon Lucas 🌈😊

Edit: Fix autocorrect and move an out of place sentence...

Hospital Birth Concerns

I am currently 14 weeks pregnant and so confused.

I gave birth last Jan in a birthing center that went horribly wrong and my son passed (not from birth complications but undiagnosed issues we were not told of). I remember being in so much pain and terrified and alone (us, hubby and myself but not really a provider to guide me on my first).

Im so confused on whether or not to do a hospital or home birth. On one hand im terrified of providers now doing things against my wishes and on the other hand.... I want all the drugs to not go through that pain again after trauma.

Any advice? Or insight?

Playing the Game

How do introverted people play the corporate game without getting burnt out?

My job is good, company is good but the fake niceness, bragging about efforts, posting online about shit that doesnt matter to bring "brand awareness to self" and socialization ..... whew my masking social battery is drained.

Any tips and tricks would be appreciated!

How to make more

The corporate rah rah game is really getting on my nerves. Im really good at my job and socialize fine but im not there to "drink the koolaid" (literally said many times over a 2 day BS training (I have my "executive" MBA and went through these things, DISC/EI/Executive Presence)) and make others feel good about their shitty work.

At work I'm very professional, I get along well with others i just cant live in this delusion that corporate is this place where we have to all be friends and hang out and know each other's personal business.

Am I able to make 200k (process improvement type stuff) not being in a place like this or is this the norm 😔

Edit: I want to add that they took so many photos for optics to post online. I truly dont agree with that either.

Start of insulin resistance

I am at 9.1 fasting insulin and 12wks pregnant. Id like to stop this before it gets into gestational diabetes. Any recommendations?

Edit: For reference and why I am asking now, I watched my dad slowly die of ESKD and then going through a transplant and ultimately dying anyway from poor health choices. It scared the hell out of me.

Reminder of Our Community

Our reddit is about alternative resources for gallbladder health and we are not fighting with people who only want to look at specific items instead of the whole big picture. Doctors are 10-15 years behind clinical advancements unless they are the ones doing the studies. There is a very large divide between those doctors who do studies and keep up with the ever changing science of medicine and there are those who stick to "standard of care". This sub reddit is highly against "standard of care" (which is why we refer those who are for it to r/gallbladders since they go by standard of care for cholesystectomies) and that every thing published from 30,40,50 years ago is not changing.

New studies and information from world renowned phsyicians like Dr. Jamnadas recognize that metabolic disease is the number one factor for most preventative diseases. To prevent that, traditional high carb (specifically refined and processed) and eating 3 meals a day is *not* the way to manage metabolic disease. Breakfast is a meal that was created by the food industry in the 40s and 50s when they started pushing cereal and fortified grains. We have 40 -50 years now of processed, high carb, low fat diets PROVING metabolic disease. Gallstones are part of that metabolic disease grouping.

We 100% get chiros aren't an MD which is why we preface resources with it but the suggestions to help support the billiary system were not created by chiros and the pages are simply a means to start researching what may help gallbladder health.

The body is not a singular entity for each part. It functions together as a well-oiled machine and a world-renowned cardiologist with prestigious degrees, medical training and certifications helping get the word out about metabolic disease is worth looking them up.

We look at studies but also recognized that peer reviewed studies are based on funding and where money comes from so therefore natural and other alternatives aren't always studied but arent necessarily "wrong" or "dont work" either. The organ saving procedure 10 years ago was looked down upon but now we are having many more countries and Interventional radiologists now doing these procedures. Even verywell health has changed their gallbladder removal page in the last 3 years to acknowledge the importance of this organ for additional metabolic disease risks.

Please keep in mind we are here to help others not to "debunk" new methods and steer people away from what may work for them.

A few members recently have not been aligning with our sub and going forward Mods will be taking action after initial warnings. We are tired of fighting misinformation and discouragement from those who refuse to either a. Keep up with medical advancements or b. Keep an open mind.

Not supportive

It feels like the majority of posts are people stating problems that shouldn't be problems (yes there are a few that are actual problems).

But there is so much complaining, so much wanting to leave and either you a. Thought you could change people (you cant) or b. Did not fully understand what being a stepparent meant or c. Just want to run away.

This group isnt supportive or encouraging its complaining and encouraging others to leave with only have one side of the story - thats dangerous for any relationship. Err on the sid of caution with "advice" you give swaying people to leave - you could be actually contributing to destroying something that could be fixed with introspect.

Lots of therapy needed and projecting happening here ✌️.

Methylfolate and Pregnancy

Anyone take methyfolate only during their pregnancy and have a healthy baby with no neural tube defects? My OB is trying to force me back into taking 4mg folic acid and I had severe negative side effects with folic acid. I am and have been taking 5mg of methylfolate.

Throwing it out there - anyone willing to take on an insane Arkansas trust litigation case pro-Bono? Need to be aggressive.

(Im trying to follow rules and also figure out how to get this going).

I live in a block house that inside theres ferring strips and thermal paper (shitty but standard). I have. Anew neighor who insists on playing drums all hours of the night. I dont want to fight.

Between out homes is about 12-15ft and my 8ft wood fence and I still hear his bass drums and floor Tom's. I dont want to destroy my wall (I've had enough demos for a lifetime).

Is this idea solid and will it work:

  1. Remove baseboard

  2. Seal in window (we dont use it anyway) or frame around and add thick blankets over

3.Add 2x4's to the wall to create more "space"

  1. Put rockwool safe n sound in that space.

  2. Cover with drywall that has the green sound facing the exterior wall

  3. Add acoustic wood panels for aesthetic

  4. Add baseboard back

I just want to sleep without being woken up.
