what do emergency line operators do if it's gonna take over 30 minutes for help to reach a patient? Do they stay on the line that entire time? or do they hang up and take other calls?

So example, it's snowing heavily and you crash your car. No major injuries but you do have a minor head laceration (no obvious concussion) and a suspected broken leg. You call your emergency number and they say it's gonna be 30+ minutes to reach you because of the weather.

Is the person gonna stay on the phone with you that entire time? or do they hang up?

I don't actually like playing DnD.

my best friend is really into DnD. He's put hundreds of hours into creating this campaign, it's something he genuinely loves.

Now I like DnD, but I'm way more into watching other campaigns, not playing in one myself.

Because everyone in the campaign is between 20-22 everyone works casually/weekends or is studying full time.

Basically except me, I'm working full time 8-4 Monday to Friday. I barely have time to eat and sleep, let alone level up my character and come up with even more lore.

And because it's a large campaign (7 people including the DM) we barely have one session a month, and because the DM has put so much effort into this, sessions are normally 10-12+ HOURS.

I do not have the social battery for that. even with semi-frequent food/snack and meal breaks. Those long sessions are literally the bane of my existence. We sometimes have shorter 5-6 hour sessions, but they're normally reserved for when one of us can't make it and it's no longer a 'plot' session, it's a fun session.

I can't pull out of the campaign either. He's put so much effort into this campaign, I genuinely love seeing how happy this makes my friend. But the long sessions, combined with the fact that I don't really like two of the players - I'm cordial and polite obviously - make me honestly hate playing DnD.

Next time I'm saying no and sticking to it. I originally said no to this campaign because I we tried this in the past but I ended up caving and playing because I thought it would be different.

I'm not going to quit. because that would break my friends heart. and in friendships you have to make sacrifices for each other. I guess I'm sacrificing either one weekend or one of my holiday days a month.

if only specialised people need the mac book pro, who is going to buy the rumoured 'mac book ultra'?

So the average person who only wants a laptop to online shop, watch Netflix and general internet browsing can get away with using the mac book NEO for all their needs, most higher education students will be fine with the mac book air, and people working with AI, coding, 3d rendering and other similar areas need the mac book pro.

So who is the target audience for this rumoured mac book ultra that has supposedly been 'confirmed' to be released this October? Because the mac book pro line has 3 options for more and more power, the m5, m5 pro and m5 max.

I find it hard to believe that there are enough people who need more power then the m5 max with 128 gigs of ram to warrant the release of a whole new line of computers. However, if I am wrong, please educate me and let me know.

I'm kind of reconsidering studying nursing in the future.

I'm currently working full time as a phlebotomist for $30 an hour. A friend of a friend recently got a full time nursing job for $27 an hour.

I studied 6 months for this job and the TAFE certificate cost me $700

this friend of a friend spent 3-4 years studying and is probably thousands of dollars in debt. She also had to recently choose between working full time as a nurse and working at target where she was making $34 an hour...

I know that she only just graduated and she'll get a pay rise as she gets more experience and specialises but I've also heard horror stories of the management in the public healthcare system in Australia.

Should I consider another degree? are there other jobs that are there similar to nursing in the hands on medical side but don't have the terrible management and generally bad workplace attitude.

To be totally honest I only did this tafe course so i could have a medical background while i studied nursing. And i am really hoping to be making more then $30 an hour, especially if i put 3-4 years of my life into this career.

Who is the creator I'm thinking of.

He's an American black man who makes content about a lot of things but it's mainly things like this:

him: ok so I found it, it's [insert the name of the product, where you can find it and how much it costs]

he's really funny and I used to watch him a lot but I think I forgot to follow him or something and now i can't find him. he had a load of followers.

Is it better to work casually or have a perm part time job during nursing school?

I've currently got a full time job and am planning to go into nursing school in a year, I was thinking about when I start school whether I should go casual or ppt. It will most likely be with the same company and position.

casual:

- better hourly pay

- easier to take time off for exams & placements

- BUT no stability/stable hours a week

Perm. Part time:

- worse hourly

- may be able to take annual leave for some of the exam season or maybe placement.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

What colour hair dye compliments natural red/ginger hair?

I have natural ginger hair that has never been dyed, I have fairly pale skin and some freckles. I'm looking for a colour that will compliment my natural hair, not dye from roots to tips. Maybe some coloured highlights?

I thought maybe honey blonde streaks?

Considering either the s11 or the U3.

Are they’re any major benefits the average person would notice on the apple watch ultra other the the battery and screen?

I am going to start some pretty heavy exercise training (training for a marathon and possibly an ironman) soon.

And I plan to use this watch as phone 'replacement' for certain days to stop me doomscrolling on insta and tiktok.

Asking for recs pls!!! really heavy angst and/or miscomunication fics.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good long-ish (between 80k - 175k word) fic about like SEVERE miscommunication + angst.

Preferences: no cheating, no abuse between shane + ilya, no major character death.

Examples: shane thinks ilya is sleeping with other people and accepts it bc he loves ilya.

AU Ilya's family severely abused him and shane has to earn his trust.

Shane got raped (not by ilya obviously) when he was trying to explore his sexuality and ilya supports him

These are just examples of the type of stories I'm ok with.

thanks so much guys.

Before s2, did we only have 3 attending physicians?

Before Al Hashimi in S2, all the attending physicians we know about are Robby, Abbot and Shen.

Abbot does nights, Robby does days, and I'm assuming Shen does a combination of day/night shifts.

Surely that can't be all of them, if there are 14 shifts a week (one day, one night shift per day)

that's ~5 shifts per week per attending (technically it's 4.6 recurring) and because every shift is 12 hours, that's 60 hours a week.

Is there a secret attending physician we haven't met? is that why Robby was so burnt out? because he's been working 60 hours a week in an extremly high stress job for years?

Are there any benefits to upgrading storage on the actual laptop when you can buy SSD's for cheaper online?

Hey guys, newbie here asking a genuine question.

(all currency is in Australian dollars for context)

What is the purpose of upgrading the laptops internal storage when you get (essentially) a GIANT usb that has like 2x the storage for half of what apple is charging?

to get 2 terabyte of storage on the mac book air, you need to either upgrade the 13 inch to the better CPU, GPU and neural engine and pay an extra $150 or buy the 15 inch model for an extra $400. THEN upgrade to the 2 terabyte for an extra $900...

So a $1799 computer turns into either a $2699 computer or a $3099 computer.

I can buy a 2 terabyte external hard drive for like $200.

I'll be studying nursing in sem 1 next year and I'm going over the units my preferred university offers and some of the units are available to do online and in person. Is there any negatives to studying some of my course online vs in person? Would it give me more freedom to work?
