Does anyone know which store this is from? Or which stores sells this?
Hi everyone,
My US tourist visa application was just denied, and I’m trying to figure out where I went wrong. For context, this was a DIY application since the DS-160 is pretty straightforward.
Here is my profile:
Age/Status: 33, Filipino, Female, Married, No kids
Occupation: Business owner (Cafe)
Travel History (Past 5 years): Japan only (travelled yearly, 5 times total)
Spouse Status: My husband already has a US tourist visa and has traveled to the US before.
The Interview Breakdown: (this is just a gist, I explained more on the actual interview)
Consul: How long will you stay in the US?
Me: 2 weeks.
Consul: What will you do there?
Me: Vacation only.
Consul: Where are you going to stay?
Me: With my brother-in-law in California.
Consul: What do you do for work?
Me: I own a coffee shop.
Consul: What does your husband do?
Me: He has his own business.
Consul: What is your travel history?
Me: I’ve been to Japan 5 times.
Consul: Who are you traveling with?
Me: My husband. He already has his tourist visa and has been to the US before.
Consul: Do you have kids?
Me: No. (No extra explanation)
Consul: (Asked again) What do you do for work?
Me: Explained my coffee shop again.
Consul: (Asked again) Do you have kids?
Me: Answered no again.
Consul: I am sorry, I cannot grant you this visa.
My Questions for the Community:
What could have been the red flags?
Was it because we don’t have kids? Should I have explained further that my husband and I don’t have plans on having any? (Or would over-explaining look defensive?)
Should I consult with an agent? I'm planning to apply again next year, but after this refusal, I'm second-guessing my DIY approach.
Any insights, tips, or advice from those who have gone through a reapplication would be greatly appreciated. Ang mahal pa naman na ng visa application. Thank you!
