In 21st century, getting conned by your employer is expected, but by our own family?

Since when did people start putting money above blood relations?

My mum usually says to ignore it and just accept whatever they give and move on. But my blood boils when they give me less money (cutting on top of my own "family price" discount) on their own accordance.

Should I ask them about the difference of money straight on, indirectly or just move on? Please do share your experience regarding this and how did y'all deal with it.
