On Monday, August 10th 2026, the Love family, friends, and concerned community members will be assembling at Mundelein Village Hall to voice our contempt for the killing of Mary Alice Love. We are demanding accountability and transparency from the Village of Mundelein and the Mundelein Police Department in regards to Mary Alice's murder at the hands of Mundelein police. The mayor of Mundelein and the village boards' silence regarding this matter has been deafening.

Protest Against Data Center Proliferation - 6/13 Grayslake, IL
Data centers are a monumental strain on our communities already limited resources. These power hungry constructs consume massive amounts of electricity, and require huge amounts of water to cool their screaming processors. They pollute our air with fumes and noise from dirty, often unregulated generators.
This is no NIMBY (not in my back yard) situation, these projects extract resources from our communities and funnel them upward to greedy technocrats and their investors.
If you are at all concerned about the multiple data center plans being discussed in the Chicago area, come make your voice heard in Grayslake.

Fields of Athenry - Campfire Protest Song Sing-a-Long (Lyrics & Chords Included)
Hey all! I live in the Chicago area and recently picked up my guitar again. Thought I'd share a little project I started. I figure a group of local musicians like yourselves might be able to offer some constructive criticism. If you have any recommendations on recording technique, future songs, basically anything other than "stop singing", I'd love to hear it!
I'm also looking for folks to jam with. I played guitar in a punk/ska band back in the early 2000's, but I dabble in bass and drums as well. Let me know!

Proposed Legislation Effectively Banning All Hemp Derived Drinks? HB5784
Hi All!
Has anyone else heard of this legislation being proposed in Illinois? (HB5784) It sounds like if its passed, it would label any product with more than .4 milligrams of THC per container a cannabis product, regardless of where that THC is derived from. That means all the hemp-derived THC drinks you can find at gas stations, grocery stores, and liquor stores will become "cannabis" in Illinois, and will no longer be able to be sold anywhere other than a licensed cannabis dispensary.
Is this true? Does anyone have any insight they can share? Thanks!
