The feral dilute Tabico Kitten Purr Lee is a fixture on my back porch where I TNR all new comers.

Purr Lee showed up about two weeks ago with her feral mother Atsea. Atsea was trapped on August 10th, vaccinated and spayed. One of her kittens, the Ticked Torbie Purrsephany, was accidentally trapped with her so Purrsephany was spayed also.

Purr Lee has not been vaccinated or spayed and I will be waiting a few weeks before I try and trap her. This is so she is closer to 12 weeks old.

It is hot in Central Texas now and the kittens camp out all day on the back patio in the shade by the fresh water bowl. There mother Atsea visits daily after an absence of eight days after her spay.

All the cats mentioned run away at the sight or sound of us. They are really feral but I aim to change that.

Princess Chloe Peanut Butter Smudge when she was Baby Chloe Peanut Butter Smudge.

Princess Chloe was a tiny kitten when she got here. She needed kitten milk replacement formula to live. She did not need to be hand nursed. She drank from a bowl on her own. To this day she is still a free spirit.

After Atsea’s TNR, she disappeared for eight days but now she is back and with her kittens.

Atsea was TNRed on August 10, 2026. She was trapped with one of her kittens who was Spay also.

The kitten never went anywhere and bounced back immediately but Atsea disappeared.

Today the kitten (Purrsephany) came this morning with three siblings.

This afternoon Atsea showed up and I got a proof of life photo.

I am so glad she is okay. I was worried sick.

The feral kitten Purrsephany is a fixture in my backyard

On August 10th 2026, Purrsephany was accidentally caught in a live trap with her feral mother. I did not realize this until after I was at the Animal Birth Control Clinic.

So young Purrsephany under went a spay at a very young age. I was worried about her but she was up and active right away.

Now every morning she comes to eat and drink in my backyard. This was her taken 08/18/2026.

Her paperwork lists her as a ticked Torbie.

When it comes to affection, with Kat Mandu, there is no “me give.” Only “him take.”

Doodles (Kat Mandu) rubs his head in my face every night before bed. I have to stop all I am doing and give him 100% of my attention. He simply loves me fiercely.

Purrsephany is a very brave Kitten.

The very feral kitten Purrsephany was caught in a live trap with her very feral mother Atsea. At the Animal Birth Control Clinic in my city all feral cats brought in traps are neutered or spayed as well as vaccinated.

So Purrsephany under went a spay surgery.

This was on Monday and six days later Purrsephany is thriving.

She hangs around a lot and I see her every day. I hope that soon she will realize that I feed her and let me get close.

Purrsephany’s paperwork listed her as a Ticked Torbie.

Two year anniversary of the feral Paisley Po the Tabico’s Trap and Spay. Now she is tame and comes in the house often.

August 12th, 2024 I trapped the feral cat Paisley and took her to the Animal Birth Control Clinic for vaccines and a spay. Two years later and she comes inside the house everyday and eats.

First Picture: Paisley Po The Tabico in a picture taken today 08/12/2026.

Second picture: Paisley in the trap two years ago.

Third picture: Paisley eating inside today.

Purrsephany is extremely feral and I can’t get a good picture. Her paperwork says she is a ticked Torbie.

A silver tabby mother we call Atsea showed up in my backyard a few weeks ago with three kittens. I feed feral cats out there and TNR any newcomers. So she was trapped and taken to the clinic that does TNR cats with no appointment.

I cover the trap with a cloth after a cat is inside to calm it and I did that when I trapped Atsea. I did not realize that Purrsephany was caught in the trap with her mother. So since they had her, she was spayed also.

She always ran away from me but now she bolts at a glimpse of my face in the window. When I can get a better picture I will post it.

Her paperwork says she is primary color Ticked and secondary color Torbie. I thought she was a mackerel tabby but I have never been close to her.

If she really is a Torbie then she might belong here.

Atsea got her Spay and Vaccinations today. She was trapped this morning. She is extremely feral.

She got a hematoma on her nose from trying to get out of the trap but other than that things went smoothly.

Paisley Po the Tabico’s two year transformation from feral to tame.

Paisley Po the Tabico showed up in July 2024. She was trapped on August 12th 2024 and spayed and vaccinated. We kept her in the house while she recovered.

She had complications and developed a mammary infection. She had to be taken to emergency vet services.

She was prescribed antibiotics and we kept her in a large dog crate for 7 days while we administered her meds.

We let her out of the crate and she stayed under a bed for a week. Then she escaped through the old dog door and returned to her feral colony.

During the first winter, as she was eating outside, I was able to bring her in and she would spend the night inside.

Now she still likes to be an indoor/outdoor cat. She eats inside and comes in from the weather.

I got a good picture of Atsea and one of her kittens. She eats in my trap so I am hoping to trap her Tuesday and take her in.

I feed on my back porch. I started putting food in the trap two days ago. I have it rigged with a string to set it off and I can watch from inside the house as the string runs through the old dog door.

I got a ride with my friend for when I trap her. He has an appointment Monday but is available the rest of the week. I am pretty sure I can trap her Tuesday.

Atsea is VERY feral. She would run away on sight. But lately she doesn’t run far and comes right back. She saw me taking her picture and did not run.

Dash Rip Rock was a feral kitten rescued off a busy freeway who became the nicest cat.

Dash Rip Rock was found on a freeway on a rainy night by my stepdaughter. He was feral and hated everything about us.

The first picture is when we first got him home he was hissing and striking out.

The second picture is him in his apartment that he lived in for a few days until he came down with Stockholm syndrome and loved his captors.

The last picture is him playing McLarge-Huge after he was tame.

It never rains in the Outback

We were told we did not need rain gear. Cyclone Quentin had other ideas. It rained all six days we were in the field back on WESTPAC 83-84.

Princess Chloe Peanut Butter Smudge circles me like a shark and bites me if I pet her. Still, she is my favorite.

Baby Chloe Peanut Butter Smudge came to me at two weeks old. I don’t know where she came from. She was brought to me.

She needed kitten formula to survive. She, however, did not have to be hand nursed like other two week old kittens. She adeptly drank from a bowl all on her own.

At six weeks old, she came to me and told me with her attitude that she no longer needed me in her life. She had found the communal kibble bowl.

She is an indoor outdoor cat who loves her freedom. She spends most of her time with a feral colony. She was spayed at 12 weeks but that does not stop her from having tom cats over. She comes in every night to say hi.

I spend more time with other cats but Princess Chloe Peanut Butter Smudge is my favorite cat ever. I always wanted a tortoiseshell.

A new kitten showed up at my small TNR colony. We are calling them Furnando or Furnanda! We don’t know the gender.

I have seen the little cat twice now. They eat at the feeding station in my backyard. I have also seen their mother a few times. And once I saw their calico sister.

Sadly she does not eat the kibble. She took a nibble and split. Someone else must have fed her.

The kitten was unaccompanied and was lounging in a plastic chair. I will need to trap the mother soon and the kittens in a month or six weeks.

It is all I can think about. I am all about the TNR.

Miss Tortitude, Princess Chloe Peanut Butter Smudge has adopted the feral lifestyle.

She stays outside all day and night. All her friends are feral. She looks out of place in her pink flea collar. She still comes in the house but does not stay.

Lord William Robert Piebald AKA Billy Bob Bitey Baby needs a good face bleaching.

Lord William, who never lost his kitten cuteness, has a blotch over his nose that covers a little to the right.

He was rescued when he was abandoned by his feral mother. I took him in and hand nursed him with kitten formula.

He lords over all the cats in the house even though he is a small cat. Lord William certainly lives up to his name.
